A list of puns related to "Super Over"
It's been a week now and she's still not talking to me.
I said "I don't know how to deal with you because I'm not a super hospital."
She hung up and I have not heard from her since.
...with the caveat that they have to use the words "liver" and "cheese" in their pickup line.
The Russian walks up to her and proudly recites: "My liver aches for you like it does for vodka, and my heart is incomplete like gruyere cheese". Crickets. The girl is a bit confused but is impressed with the guy's large biceps and full beard.
The Brit walks over to her and stammers: "I will tease your fancy with a sliver of cheese and liver". Nonsensical, but his accent did the trick. The girl blushes slightly.
The Mexican guy sees his opportunity and loudly yells: "Liver alone! Cheese mine!"
Me, placing a towel over her shoulders like a cape: "Look, now you're SUPER angry!"
The first order of business is asking everyone to ease off the "I was going to tell a ____ joke, but..." format for a while. Too many are reporting those as reposts. I like them, but there is the "comedic rule of 3," so maybe we can lay off telling them for a while. That goes for various permutations of this setup as well. So let's try not to wear others' punderwear.
Next, we have an issue with too many reporting things that are not in violation of either our rules or site-wide rules, and falsely accusing power users and karma-getters of being spambots. Our overall policy is not to remove high-karma posts unless they are actual commercial spam or are told at the expense of marginalized groups (per Reddit's sitewide rule #1). Please do not use the Report button as a "super downvote."
Then, there probably needs to be a reminder to try avoiding the "one-joke" style of puns. I like them, but Reddit doesn't like them (sitewide rule #1) and they are outside our rules too (rule #7). I wish we could host those here as I find them funny, and I don't appreciate folks who are overly thin-skinned. The Reddit admins seem to have a zero-tolerance stance against such jokes/puns, even if there are no hateful motives underneath.
And of course, I want to remind the users here that they are just awesome! Without you, this sub would not be what it is.
If others want to make puns about this below, feel free! And as always, have fun!
So the clone is an exact duplicate, all of his talents and experience, so he sends him to work. Clone does great work, but within a few days, he comes home with a written warning. Turns out the guy has a filthy mouth, and has offended everyone. So the original guy has him stay home at their high rise and he goes back to work and apologizes. He gets home and the building is in an uproar. Guy has been swearing at the doorman, other tenants and the super. Original guy gets fed up and offers to take him to the to top floor for the view. Then he throws him over the edge.
Gets back to the apartment and the police are there to arrest him. The charge? Making an obcene clone fall.
One cold winter's morning he was walking along a country road, when he heard a cry for help from a nearby lake.
He turned to see a little girl struggling in the broken ice in the middle of the lake. She'd been skating and had fallen into the icy water. Without a moment's hesitation the tramp ran onto the ice and slipped and slided over to the little girl. He managed to pull her out without breaking the ice further and he carried her back to the road.
He took off his coat and wrapped the little girl in it and began looking for a car to flag down. A few moments later a huge chauffeur-driven limo pulled up, and who stepped out but the little girl's father - the mayor of the nearby town and a multi-millionaire.
"How can I ever thank you sir?" says the father after putting his daughterinto the warmth of the limo.
"Just name your price - I'm a wealthy man."
"Ahem, well ..." stammered the tramp "...eh I'm a little short of cash, perhaps you could help me out"
"Certainly" says the girl's father and he pulls out his wallet.
"Oh dear" says the father, "I don't carry much cash with me, I only have ten dollars - but come home with me and I'll get more from the safe"
"No! No!" says the tramp, "Why ten dollars is more money than I've seen in my whole life - that will be plenty".
"Well, if you insist" says the father - "now what will you do with your money?"
"Oh that's easy" says the tramp "I've not had a rest in 20 years. I think I'll buy myself a holiday"
"Well good luck" says the father, and he gets into the car and signals his chauffeur to drive home.
"Ten Dollars" thinks the tramp, "I'm rich! I'm rich!", and off he goes to the town, to buy himself a holiday.
He finds a travel agent, walks in - much to the disgust of the staff - and goes up to the desk.
"I'll have one holiday please!"
"Ahem, which holiday would sir like" asked the girl at the desk, forcing a smile.
"Oh, any holiday I don't mind" replied the tramp.
"Well how much money does sir have to spend on sir's holiday?"
"Oh lots - anything up to ten dollars"
"TEN DOLLARS!! You'll never get a holiday for ten dollars" says the girl incredulously.
"Oh dear" said the tramp, "and I was so looking forward to a holiday - I'll probably never get another chance - isn't there anything you can do?"
"Well I don't think so sir, but hold on and I'll check"
The girl goes into the back of the shop, and searches in the deepest, dustiest filing drawers she can find. There - to her amazement -

I've gotten some lame ones like what did the ghost say to the bees? Boo-bees
I've gotten some good ones, even had a gun store give me the shatner panties joke
But today's just hit peak dad joke status....
They included my invoice sheet and a separate sheet of printer paper with nothing on it but the words "a dad joke" in like 200 size font.
It's short, sweet, super corny and makes you facepalm, but still had me laughing out loud for about five minutes.
Bravo good sir, you definitely have a couple of kids at home that get lots of practice rolling their eyes
You won't believe what happened today!! I was trimming the bushes, "doing my thang" when a little space ship flew right over OUR house. I was trying to get a good look at it but the lights were so bright I couldn't look at it without hurting my eyes. Suddenly, I heard a loud "whooosh" and standing in front of me was AN ALIEN!! Let me tell you this alien was badโฆ..assss. Looked super strong and super tough and I knew I had my hedge clippers to fight with but I said to myself, "I don't know this alien looks like a pretty rough customer"ย All of a sudden though, the neighbors, the Vartiks, come rushing out and Mrs Vartik says, "Mr Craig stand back!!" Mr Vartik jumps up in the air and his body transforms like a Transformer or one of those Voltrons I was telling you about. Mrs Vartik twists into a giant leg. Mr Vartik is the torso and connects to his wife, the leg. Paige, his daughter who goes to Dowse High with Aidan, turns into an arm with a built in laser cannon. Dmitri, his son turns in the left arm, holding this shape shifting shield. Angelo, the dog with a frisbee in his mouth jumps up and forms into an assault leg with 360 degree swivel action boom he locks into place. So I'm like "where's the head"? That's when the stroller, with baby Greg inside, pogo sticks up over the rest of the body and becomes this "cooler than Master Chief in Halo or Captain John Price in CoD" looking warrior head. Immediately, this Super Fighter starts going head to head with this alien, and the alien is tough but this Super Fighter just does some crazy stuff and is shooting lasers and launching missiles and boom doing UFC kicks and he kicks this alien's butt. The alien jumps back in his ship and tries to get away but the Super Fighter reaches into it's leg and pulls out Angelo's frisbee and throws it so hard at the alien spaceship as it's flying away that it looks like a fireball and it hits the alien ship and it blows up. So I look at the Super Fighter made out of our neighbors and it's awkward, I don't know what to say. So I look up at the baby Greg head and say, "who are you? what are you?" And it says; "I'm..... a ๐๐ข๐ฎ๐ช๐ญ๐บ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ!'
Preface: I live in Ohio.
Over the years my dad and I have taken lots of trips together or vacations to different states. Well whenever he goes to pay for something with cash, thinking he's real clever, he asks the cashier if they accept Ohio money. Every. Single. Time. The cashier instantly gets super confused and kinda just stares awkwardly. Despite how dumb the joke is I honestly do get a chuckle out of how uncomfortable the cashiers get lol.
EDIT: I am now closing applications and will make a decision in the next day or so. Thank you to everybody who applied - the general enthusiasm and support is wonderful to see.
( as this is a self post, I receive no karma - however I would appreciate it if you upvoted purely for visibility <3 )
Hey everybody,
The /r/dadjokes community is now over 85,000 subscribers strong. That's pretty great. Pretty super great.
Thus far, over the entire existence of this sub, I have been the only mod. Quietly watching, taking your feedback, removing a post here, approving another there - doing my best not to interfere too much. I'm going to be honest, it hasn't been that hard.
You lot are generally a pretty nice bunch, give or take a few of the more vocal lunatics. There isn't usually a lot of work to be done, or issues that need resolving.
That said, I'm not awake all the time. I can't lurk on Reddit all the time. I don't have all-seeing eyes.
So it's about time I gave another pair of eyes moderator status and entrusted those eyes with a duty of care.
Let's get down to the chase; here's what I'm looking for in an additional mod:
Here's what I am not looking for:
If you wish to apply for the title and duty of being a moderator to /r/dadjokes, simply state your case (why you should be selected, what benefits or experience you bring, etc) in a comment reply to this thread. I will then get in touch with the most worthy seeming applicants. Upvotes and downvites will not be taken int

When my date and I finally got to the dance there was a super long line for tickets. When we finally got in she asked me to get her a class of punch. I went over there but there was no punchline
My family were on vacation and we were going on a hike. We had been walking for a little over an hour when my sister she had something in her shoe that was bothering her.
She asked us to stop so she could take it out and my dad excitedly agreed. I was super confused as to why he seemed so excited, so I stopped as well.
My sister sat down, took off her shoe, and my dad gasped dramatically.
โOh my god! There was a foot in your shoe.โ
He proceeded to laugh himself to tears, while I laughed at his reaction to his own dad joke.
Last summer, my girlfriend and I went camping. One of the days, we were having lunch by a river (a kind of a picnic sort of thing). Now, I talk a lot when I eat, so she finished eating waaaaay before I did. Once she was finished, she took to the water to cool off while I continued munching away.
Now, I guess she must have slipped or something, because all of a sudden I heard a cry and she was just gone. Washed away. I saw her head bob above the surface probably 20 yards downstream, and moving fast towards some rapids (probably 100-150 yards away). So I'm pretty panicked at this point, but she manages to grab onto a low-hanging branch (just like in a movie or something). She's coughing and sputtering and hollering for help, trying to keep a grip on the branch.
So, I set down my avocado I'd been snacking on and walked out into the water. "hurry! I can't hold on much longer," she's yelling. I kept walking towards her, but the bottom of the river was so muddy that it was probably pretty slow. She started to get angry with me "SWIM over here! Why are you walking? Please hurry!" She yelled, with great urgency. All in all, it took me probably 8 minutes to cover the 80 yards or so to get to her. After I rescued her, she was super mad for some reason. She was all "I almost died, why were you going so slow? Who does that? What's wrong with you?"
"Well," I said. "Good things are worth wading for."
He became a nicer man, in fact much nicer, since his super-ego and ego took over.
I woke up super tired and overly exhausted.
So in my calculus class last year in math, there were these two Chinese twins. Ving, and Ling. Ving was always super cool with me. In exchange for answers (he was super smart) I would hang out with him and be his friend and stuff. After I cheated off of him and studied with him though, I did get to be his friend and we got very close.
His sister, Ling, was always uptight about school and she made sure to study, she got stressed about a B, etc. One day I was hanging out with Ving, and we started talking about names. He went off on this huge rant about how he hated his, and how he wanted to change it to something more Asian-American, like Lee. I told him that the Courthouse downtown had a form that you could fill to legally change it. He told me: "I always give you answers. If you could just drive me down to the courthouse this one time, I will never forget you. I just hate this god-forsaken Chinese name and I want to get rid of it forever."
He seemed pretty adamant about it, so I decided the best decision would be to take him. We walked out to my car, and right as I put the keys in the ignition Ling came running and tapped on the car door like a madman. I rolled it down and she started freaking out about how Ving's name had been passed down through generations and generations, but Ving didn't care. He just wanted to go down to the Courthouse and get it over with.
Ling figured that coming with would be the best idea, so if anything else came up that she would be needed for, she would be there for Ving. Honestly, I felt stuck in the middle of a family feud, so I just took her along. When we got to the Courthouse, Ving confidently walked up to the front desk and asked the receptionist if he could change his name. She gave him a little packet of paper and told him to sit down. Ling and I waited patiently while Ving filled out his info. I was watching him fill it out and I noticed he really did want to change his name to Lee.
Before he finished, though, he started tearing up. He told me he couldn't change his name. He asked the lady at the front that he couldn't do it, and she told him he would need twenty dollars to cancel the request. Ling was so relieved and happy that he changed his mind, she dug through her purse, found the money, and started to hand it to the receptionist.
It was at this moment that the most stereotypical Asian man burst through the doors. He was wearing a Hawaiian shirt, a visor, American flag shorts, flip flops, everything. This

tl;dr just read it, it's worth reading the whole description of the job
Before I moved, my neighbor's job was based in Antarctica. He worked with one of the research centers there, and his job was standing up penguins. I kid you not โ when shipments arrived by air, like by helicopter or by airplane or whatever, the penguins would all look up with their tiny heads and look up so high they would fall over backwards. Now, penguins are super awkward in how they waddle everywhere, and so, not wanting to disturb the local environment, the research station had to have someone that could suit up and go out there and stand up penguins.
As soon as every shipment arrived, he would say, "Welp, better go suit up now," get into the whole penguin suit, and waddle out there all incognito and stand the penguins on their feet again. I'm sure they could have done it on their own, eventually, but the idea was to disturb the animals for as little time as possible.
I thought it was the most ridiculous thing when he told me, but he got the job through his dad's researcher colleague. Basically, the deal was they would get people to go down for 3-month periods (I think he ended up doing 6 months) and this was his occupation for that time. Actually, is plane flight there was one of the really cool parts: LA went to Sydney, which then went back across the Pacific to Buenos Aires. Then, on the final leg, he would finally go Buenos Aires to the research station. The planes actually had to be specially fitted for the job, though โ Of course, you can't have typical runways in Antarctica because they'd get ice all over them and there'd be all these problems โ so the planes had to have mechanics on board each flight who would, mid-flight, switch out the take-off wheels for the landing skis. Just like a sea plane, except it was a snow-plane. Coolest thing ever.
Oh, but the way he described working with the penguins was the best! Most of the time he'd just go out and stand them up, but sometimes one would hurt itself. Like one time one of them fell over backwards and hit its foot the wrong way, so he had to not only pick it up, but give medical help, too. He seriously had to prop up the penguin, take off his glove, and pull on each of the penguins little webbed toes, pull on their legs. Sort of like how I'm pulling your leg right now.
We don't have any kids yet, though my husband - I believe, is prepared. It was after dinner he had this seafood concoction that contained rice, chicken, shrimp, and mussels. Anyway, he was super full afterwards and pushing hid belly out. The conversation went as follows:
Me: Full huh?
Hubby: yeah, (points to stomach) the shrimp is here, chicken here and rice here.
Me: What about the oysters (I don't eat seafood, please don't hate me)
Hubby: You mean mussels? (Proceeds to flex) All over!
Edit: hopefully spacing-posting on my phone.
My brother and I aren't super tall by any means (both 6'1") but we tower over my 5" 5' mother.
So last night, after going to my other brother's choir concert, we were walking back to my car. My brother turns to me and says "hey /u/Devchar96, let's pretend we're as short as Mom." He then crouch walked.
My response? "Nah, I won't stoop to that level."
I'm so proud of myself guys. I feel like I'm finally qualified for Dad-hood!
And the waitress asks, "soup or salad?" so my dad responds, "what makes the salad so super?" This goes ways over the waitresses head of course and turns into quite an awkward situation. Literally happened seconds ago.
I'm visiting my parents from out of town and we all had gone outside to see the super moon and the meteor shower.
My dad waited until I said something along the lines of "oh wow look at the super moon."
That's when it started. He began singing "Super moon, super moon, it's super moonay" to the tune of "super freak." My mom, not to be outdone, joined in.
I'm clearly not having it so after seeing the super moon I go back inside. They follow me inside and I trip over their dog Tink. Annoyed I said, "Stupid Tink" setting off a new chorus of Super Tink.
We were both in a giddy mood because of how bad the movie was. It was more comical than anything else. This was the highlight of the night.
Christian Grey: "What are you doing for breakfast tomorrow." I lean over and whisper to my gf: "Eating breakfast" smh!
Hated the movie, but felt super proud of myself!
After a little while he finds something. Another squirrel sees he has found something so he approaches. This squirrel is acting really crazy, shaking and talking super fast. He asks "hey man, hey, hey what did you find?" The squirrel that was digging looks over and says "Your nuts!"
