A list of puns related to "Stupas"
I plan on making a similar post about the Hisar Academy, but my findings on the Khan palace were more interesting than I expected and I didn't want to muddy the water, so dedicated the whole post to this landmark.
A big part of why the Khaganate Palace isn't used is that--much like Hisar Academy--it suffers from having an insufferably vague effect whose value is not immediately understandable. What is a "cavalry army"? How much are you ACTUALLY saving? Why would you pick it over the White Stupa, which is an infinite Ovoo?
Well I have the week off for Christmas and no-one else felt like wasting the time, so I cracked my admittedly thin math-knuckles and set out to find out just that. At first the numbers seemed very obtuse, but once I looked at the base cost of the units I realized the numbers are actually very simple to understand.
Each 90 seconds, it spawns one of three possible horse blobs, with the number produced inverse to the age at which it is produced. These units are in multiples of two; 8 Horsemen, 6 Mangudai, and 4 Lancers.
I thought the number was simply based on "weaker" units being in higher numbers, but when I looked at the cost of these units I realized they actually had the same cost. Assuming you are looking to double produce every one of your units:
8 Horsemen = 4 Payments of 120 Stone = 480 Stone
6 Mangudai = 3 Payments of 160 Stone = 480 Stone
4 Lancers = 2 Payments of 240 Stone = 480 Stone
In a roundabout way, the the Khan palace produces 320 Stone Per Minute, which is exactly 50% more than the White Stupa, with the 320 stone spent automatically on a group of cavalry units, while ALSO skipping the cost in Food and Gold entirely. Not a bad deal. The main hurdle is that 90 seconds is so ridiculously long that even if you are saving more stone overall, you don't get the immediate gratification of tons of horses springing out at once.
Another problem is the units themselves: you are at the mercy of RNG and a fair number of times it will produce a group of effectively worthless horsemen and okay-at-best-Mangudai (when compared to over Imperial Age Units). The Stupa produces less, BUT you can control what the stone is spent on and when you spend it, which makes it significantly more versatile.
The Verdict: The Khaganate Palace is actually nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be, and if you are alright with a more slow-burning but valuable investment you can make a case for it being the better pick, but it suffers a lot of drawb
... keep reading on reddit β‘So uh, i heard the lotus sutra say some stuff like , " if you build a stupa it is worth much merit...etc" So I'm going to build a buddha world in minecraft ! I'm on xbox, but im sure it counts since all spaces are virtual anyway, neh? Anyone wanna join in this endeavour??
