Hey BDSM Advice peeps
I'd appreciate your advice on how to handle the following situation.
My parents have known I am kinky and into BDSM for three years now. They have not adjusted to it.
It's like I have to constantly come out as kinky, where they deny that I'm like this, then they realise that's wrong, they explode, yelling and screaming ... rinse and repeat.
My parents visited me today, and I was careful to put away my BDSM books and fun toys. Well, my Mum found the receipt for my new straitjacket (which is amazing, by the way).
She hit the roof, and I had to eject her and my Dad from the house. I was literally playing loud music through my headphones while they both screamed.
It's at the point with them where I have to hide my BDSM books, my toys, and the fact I am with my partner who is with my D. Not ideal as an adult living in my own house.
Even the smallest thing can set them off. Yelling, screaming, the works, basically an adult tantrum.
I'm really shaken and feeling traumatised from this whole experience. I was just called every name under the sun, and I am none of them - I just happen to like my kink and think straitjackets rock.
I thought you guys might have some helpful advice. How do you deal with people whose reaction to your BDSM lifestyle is denial or insane level yelling and screaming? What can I do or say when they find evidence of my kink?
