A list of puns related to "Software Performance"
β The mobility industry is witnessing an exponential demand for high-resolution radars, with its focus shifting from LiDAR to 4D imaging radar technology. Enabling this shift is Zadarβs zPRIME, the first radar to match LiDAR performance while surpassing LiDAR in all-weather, low-cost, and scalable deployments.β

Does anyone know if/when the performance update (added 67 hp, 20Nm torque) will be coming to the US, if it hasn't come already? Will people who lease their cars be able to do the upgrade, or is that just for people who own their vehicles?
I've been a Windows user for most of my life (with only occasional use on my brother's), but I just got the new Macbook M1 due to my thoughts on ARM architecture being the future. My opinion: I absolutely love the performance on the M1. It's outstanding! I also love the battery life and Unix terminal. But I wish some of that budget went to software improvements. I use a ton of shortcuts and little-known features to make life easier and I've found MacOS to have lackluster functionality in terms of shortcuts which used to be so banal in Windows like Alt+Tab or simple swiping to the side to make multiple displays. I've even used third party ones like Spectacle, AltTab, etc. but nothing can recreate the ease of use of the Windows OS in my opinion. I'm so torn on what to do as I can still return my Macbook, but I need a new laptop and I don't think any Windows laptop can compete on performance. I wanted to love the M1, but I just can't fathom spending the rest of my life without some of these extremely basic things.
Has any other Windows user also switched to macOS and realized he or she prefers the Windows OS significantly insofar as they would even sacrifice some performance and battery life? What would you recommend for a Windows laptop you think is comparable in performance and battery life (even just half the time is good enough for me)? I do not do anything that's requires insane performance outside having up to 40 tabs open and also compiling rather large programs.
Some of my main issues:
Hello.
I've a Asus M16 (model GU603HR-91D37PB1), and I've some questions regarding the performance and software of this laptop (I'm running Windows 11):
Regarding the performance, all the reviews I've seen of my model, they get better performance than my laptop with the same specs (note that I close every possible software before running the benchmarks, and was running them on High Performance Windows Power Plan). For example, on Geekbench 5, the reviewers get around 1600+ on single core, and I never get near 1600 (it's usually around 1550). On multicore they get 9600+, and I get only around 9100 at best.
It's the same for other benchmark tests (like Cinebench and so on).
Now, about the software, I uninstalled the Asus Armoury Crate, because it was using around 20% of the CPU even when the laptop was idle, and even on battery power (which affected the battery life). The thing is, I can't access the profiles on Armoury Crate (and enable Turbo mode for example), and change the RGB colors of the keyboard.
I'm thinking of buying one, but I don't want to deal with a buggy/slow reader.
EDIT: I'm living in the past. I meant Pixel 6. Sorry for the confusion.
They posted this on Wednesday but it wasn't picked up in a lot of places, so just reposting from the Facebook group:
>We heard your wishes and can happily announce that the performance software upgrade is now available in the extras web shop for lease and fleet customers in the UK and the Netherlands. We expect it to be accessible for more at the beginning of 2022.
>
>Thanks for keeping us on our toes.
They added this note in response to a question about approvals from the leasing company:
>Yes, as a lease customer you need approval from the owner of the car before purchasing the software. Please note that we'll inform the owner of the vehicle about the software download if it's requested by them.
News is out, paid upgrade for long range dual motor vehicles. β¬1000 for upgrade from 300 kW (408 hp) to 350 kW (476 hp) and torque from 660 to 680 Nm (487 to 502 lb-ft).
Google translate:
>The upgrade improves the performance of the car's powertrain, gives the car some extra power and provides an even more responsive driving experience. It provides a noticeable power boost at accelerations between 70 and 130 km/h, and acceleration from 0-100 km/h is reduced to just 4.4 seconds. The engine's combined certified power increases from 300 kW (408 hp) to 350 kW (476 hp) and torque from 660 to 680 Nm (487 to 502 lb-ft).

>The performance software upgrade can be purchased in the Polestar Extras webshop for approximately β¬1,000. Initially, the upgrade will be released in the UK and the Netherlands, with more markets to follow shortly. This update will not be available in Belgium and Luxembourg. The local legislation in Belgium/Luxembourg follows the guidelines of the European Union and does not allow to change the power of a vehicle without changing the European type approval (certificate of conformity) of the vehicle. Therefore, the software cannot be added to the vehicle after purchase.
I keep seeing descriptions of Oculus software that tells you the speeds you get using a given link cable, but I have no idea how to run similar tests. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

I recently joined a reputed company as a Client Performance Engineer. Currently I'm undergoing training, and I deal with optimizing ML performance on software.
My questions are :
Considering that the E-cores are the main hardware difference between intel and AMD's current lineup, do you think it's possible for windows to utilise them better / more efficiently in the future to see substantial gains in performance against current benchmarks? Edit: typos and grammar
Basically I'm going to buy a New GPU (UK).
Shall I get the 3080ti or 6900XT... can't decide ?
Hi. My company (an OEM) needs an HR software to evaluate the sales team employees on the outlets all over the country (approx 300 outlets) What they head office has in mind is that they want to keep a check and balance on how and why is sales team performing good or bad. They want the outlets to keep updating they profiles of teams so that head office can analyse/make their decisions etc. Any idea what should I pitch?
I've done some searching, but I haven't found a definitive/quantitative answer to this.
Suppose I have a 48MP sensor, and I want to get better low-light performance than that. I can switch to a 12MP sensor and, all else being equal, that will improve the SNR in my image.
But couldn't I get the same result by taking the original, 48MP image and applying, in post, an averaging filter that "merges" every 4 adjacent pixels into one bigger pixel? Would the result be equivalent to the 12MP sensor (which physically has 4x bigger pixels to begin with), or would noise scale differently using the two approaches (and if so, why)?
When I started to write ML code, I used the CPU and recently I switched my workflow to exploit GPU and CUDA to perform the same task 60 times faster.
I wonder now that GPU usage and acceptance is relatively widespread, why don't most general software programs like excel, chrome, etc exploit GPU capabilities for better performances rather than pushing for faster CPUs and higher clock speeds?
I know that GPU ecosystem is not as mature as CPU is but a switch to the latter should be the next step.
Thoughts?
