A list of puns related to "Sand Lance"
TL;DR: Dumbfire lance is a better weapon against fighters than the sandthrower if you can afford the 1 extra power cost, and has the same price.
I was looking at Engined of Babylon and noticed this nice weapon:Dumbfire Lance 50k price, 250 per round of ammo, 1d6+1 damage, 4 power, 1 mass, 1 hardpoint, Fighter. Close range, AP 10, Ammo 6.
Looking at it, I realized that the dumbfire lance was a much better weapon against fighters than the sand thrower. Sure, sandthrower has Flak, which means it rolls twice to hit and twice for damage, but the 5 armor in a fighter means it rarely deals damage. Assuming +1 bonus for the crew of a defending shuttle, sandthrower hits a fighters 16 AC 51% of the time. A Dumbfire lance hits 30%. Sandthrower only deals damage 6/16 times in every 2d4 roll ( 2,3,3,4,4,4,5,5,5,5,6,6,6,7,7,8 ), so that's a 10/16 chance to not do damage in every roll. 10/16^^(2) means 39% chance to deal no damage, or 61% chance to deal damage. 0.51* 0.61 = The sandtrower has a 31% chance of damaging a fighter, vs the dumbfire lance's 30%. And when the dumbfire lance hits, it deals 1d6+1.
So, long story short, the sandthrower is an anti shuttle weapon, not an anti fighter one. The kind of weapon a pirate may use against a civilian shuttle. And the dumbfire lance is practically as cheap as the sandthrower, while packing much more punch against a wider range of ships.
From now on, my mining shuttles (with system drives) are gonna use that for self defense. If they have a spike drive and a competent mechanic, specialized mountings cost only 20k if they want to be a tad more fearsome. Hell, even my fighters will be using this. It is the poor man's fractal impact charge! 245k for a system drive fighter that can hurt a frigate and even comes with augmented plating? Hell yes! A substantial discount for the enterprising pirate!

"One step at a time, one punch at a time, one blade at a time, one bullet at a time, one enemy at a time, one battle at a time, one war at a time. One life." - Engraved on the wall of the P'Thok Advanced Warfare School, Fort Erwin, Hamburger Kingdom.
Captain Cyba'armo'o stood with his men, all of them looking like normal Lanaktallans, wearing only standard shipboard armor, carrying light magac weapons with standard frangible ball rounds. They watched the battered dropship sitting in the middle of the deck with expressionless eyes.
Despite their appearance, Cyba'armo'o and his men were much different than the average Lanaktallan trooper.
They were 90% Terran Confederacy cybernetics. Full conversion cyborgs.
More Lanaktallan than Lanaktallan.
He scanned the dropship again, thinking to his briefing.
The dropship was listed as "lost in action" five years ago on a far away planet that had been assaulted by what was later determined to be Atrekna autonomous war machines. It was battered, had nose art from the XIIth Rifle Guards Orbital Assault Force, and most of its munitions were expended.
The passengers had to rely on the Indomitable Will of the Herd's tractor beams and two aerospace recovery ships to bring it in. According to communications it carried three passengers, a Tukna'rn, a Puntimat, and, unbelievably, a Terran who claimed to have been from San Angelos, Hamburger Kingdom.
Cyba'armo'o waited, watching closely. He could see the tattered remains of Atrekna phasic energy swirl on the dropship's warsteel armor, thanks to the phasic coprocessor systems he had built in to effectively fight the Atrekna.
The ship's side door cracked and slid open.
Alarm went off, flashing and whirling red lights. Cyba'armo'o felt his phasic/psychic shielding lock down around his head, down his spine, shooting down his flankspine to protect his biological parts.
The Puntimat was rippling with phasic energy, radiating out from the middle of her chest, flowing down her arms, and her hands with bright yellow levels of energy.

Jennifer did not want to have anything to do with this. The little blue dudes in the black robes had built an idol of her, tied some poor bastard to it, and tortured him. To make matters worse, they'd tortured him in a way that was hauntingly familiar to her. The belt strap looked just like the one her stepfather used to use. There was no way in hell Jennifer was going to stick around to try to untangle whatever the fuck this was.
And yet, she couldn't just leave the poor guy to get tortured more when they all woke up, could she?
His bindings were too small and delicate for Jennifer's massive tentacles to untie. Fortunately her telekinesis had no such limitations. She made precise cuts through the ropes, and the abused figure dropped into the careful embrace of her tentacle. She scooped him up, cocooning him in a coiled tentacle so that he wouldn't fall or be buffeted by the wind. Then she flew the hell out of there at her best speed.

A class 4 antimatter bomb was a magnetic bottle, containing 1.2 kg of antimatter. When the bottle collapsed, the antimatter would quickly annihilate with 1.2 kg of normal matter, releasing an explosive force equivalent to more than fifty megatons of TNT. It was the largest bomb rated for use in atmosphere, and only to be used in the most extreme emergencies. Many would have considered it to be massive overkill for the task of killing a three kilometer long tentacle monster. But Admiral Kinna was not taking any chances.
An eight kilometer wide fireball bloomed in an instant. The subsequent shockwave flattened trees for a hundred kilometers in every direction. The detonation point had been set only two kilometers from the creature. Close enough to ensure it would be within the primary effective zone, far enough that it shouldn't have been able to notice anything was wrong until it was too late. Surely they had killed it, hadn't they?

I will be going over everything you need to know about Shenhe including:
-and various play styles where she fits into.
She is a complex, intricate, character whom requires some detailing and optimal rotations
to get the most out of her damage capabilities.
^(*link below is for the video version of this guide*)
Time Stamps:
Alright, so lets talk about Shenhe..
Shenhe is a cryo sub dps and support character who can buff your teamβs damage, but especially their cryo damage.
She is tailor made for Cryo characters and fits best in cryo teams; however,
thereβs a misconception that she only buffs cryo damage, and that is not true.
She actually does buff everyone on your team, but she provides additional buffs for cryo characters, which I will go more in depth when I speak on her talents.
Shenhe is one of the most complex character in Genshin Impact as of now, or at least in my opinion.
It seems like she doesnβt do much damage herself, but she actually doesβ¦.
It is sort of like when Kazuha was originally released. No one saw the damage he does
because he doesnβt deal a bulk large number damage in one go,
but his Swirl damage and infusion is absolutely insane.
Something similar happens with Shenhe. She provides a buff through her Icy Quills, which increases damage for every character in your team,
and it is actually a very nice buff.
It can feel a little bit gimmicky/niche because the buffs sadly do not last too long unless you optimize her rotations.
This goes more into her mechanics/ talents and I will go into depth as we go on in this guide.
Anyhow, as I've said, she may not deal huge damage when

A: Yes, but actually no...but actually maybe?
Note: UPDATED WITH FIXES!! Most numbers remain unchanged but Yae Miko team has more potential DPS that I overlooked. Super long post with lots of math and pretty bad formatting.
tl;dr: She's a one woman army. Much lower personal DMG than Xiangling National but doesn't necessitate a specific support to see big dmg numbers. Best slot into flex team comps that happen to provide benefits to her. Does not need a team built around her as those resources are best spent focusing on a main dps.
Yes, and I chose my words for two reasons: it's good clickbait and partially true. Let's look at Xiangling's identity in the meta before we start making comparisons.
Now let's look at Yae Miko
Now there are clear differences to consider that would make one skeptical at the very least.
And to that I have to say maybe you have a point? We actually need to look at the math here for a definitive answer. Xiangling's main strength is the fact that she is able to deal top tier dps with almost no field time. If Yae Miko is able to do the same, then we can say she's relatively an electro Xiangling.
All formulas are obtained from the wiki here.

About Yun Jin
Yun Jin is the director of the Yun-Han Opera Troupe and is also a famous figure in Liyue Harbor's opera scene. Yun Jin is known for her sweet singing voice and intricate costumes, as well as her animated and dynamic performances. Whether it's a delicate and dignified young lady or a mighty and honorable heroine, she can play any role. What's even rarer is that this young actress is also a playwright. Other than "The Divine Damsel of Devastation", the Yun-Han Opera Troupe has performed many other new plays in recent years, all of which were written by Yun Jin. However, what is surprising is that Yun Jin, who has always displayed a dignified and elegant image, has a little hobby that is not known to the public β she likes listening to rock 'n' roll. If you see Yun Jin at a rock 'n' roll performance in Liyue Harbor, please refrain from telling the whole world about it. Otherwise, she might get nagged by the elders again.
What's up with Yun Jin's hat?
Yun Jin's "hat" is actually called a "kuitou!" Her design is a cultural reference to the actual Peking Opera, the most dominant form of Chinese theater, which combined music, vocal performance, mime, dance and acrobatics. It arose in Beijing in the mid-Qing dynasty (1644β1912) and became fully developed and recognized by the mid-19th century. Yun Jin's kuitou is directly referencing the colorful headwear that Peking Opera actors wear for their performances. (Source: Wikipedia)
You may have also noticed that in her character idles and attack animations, Yun Jin has a tendency to pose in various dramatic ways. If you listen closely, you can hear faint percussion sound effects that accompany her dances. These elements of her character design are also derivative of Peking Opera techniques, which employ a lot of emphasis on pronounced behavior and beauty over accuracy.
You can hear the sounds used in traditional Peking Opera here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2OhU-Lsxw8

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
To make it more clear, she is C6, The Catch R5, Full Emblem set with crit decent ratio. I tried with Homa (that my Hu Tao usally have), tried with Skyward Spine. The most confort I got was with Favonious Lance but dmg goes straight downhill compared to Homa or The Catch.
At the end I find the same problem, and it's not the build (tried Crimson witch too), it's not the damage (because is good enough), my problem is with Xiangling herself even if she is C6.
I just dislike her playstyle, I despise the "puim, puim, puim" quick swapping characters to keep funneling her hight cost ultimate with poor Bennett. I really liked a lot Guoba lore! but they killed his braincells with that dumb IA and even the chilli has a very small hitbox to obtain.
Believe me, Im really trying the Vaporize team but I just can't, I don't feel confortable, I dont have Kazu and the rotations feel more than a chore for me than actually playing, not gonna lie the damage is nice and somewhat better than my conventional Electro-comp and heck! It feels super smooth compared to the Reverse Vape.
Im here, asking to you, fellow toy sales people, how do you like this playstyle? Seriously?
I like Childe, and Im really open minded to create every possible viable team with him, really. But I have been playing Fireworks since 1.1 and I never get bored, countering with Beidou, buffing with Bennet, and ending the rotation with Raiden while Childe is still in CD feel so natural but I feel that this is falling behind with this Abyss rotations.
Wtf, I even tried freeze comp and feels cool and safe to play.
But Xiangling being core with the Reverse-vape is pushing me out of actually liking. I dont know, maybe having Kazu will make a difference but he just dont appeal too much to me (I played with him in events), I just like his element and easy cc, just kinda neutral for my tastes but I know its one of better Childe's support right now but kinda short in primos right now.
Maybe Vape team is not for me, any advice or recommendation?
Edit: To be clear, I can 36* abyss, but my deal is with that specific team in general.
Edit2: My Xiangling has 204%.
Last Edit: I will give my Xiangling an ER sands (when Emblem domain feels to), and will push an over-vape build along Raiden (because I find it more fun and 36* still doable).
At the end I will eventually start saving Fates to pull for Kazuha, I thin he is would be a nice addition to my rooster. Thanks comrades!
>Haldon Halfmaester had been absent from the feast. Lord Jon found him in the maesterβs tower, bent over a pile of parchments, with maps spread out all around him. βHoping to determine where the rest of the company might be?β Connington asked him.βWould that I could, my lord.β

>Ten thousand men had sailed from Volon Therys, with all their weapons, horses, elephants. Not quite half that number had turned up thus far on Westeros, at or near their intended landing site, a deserted stretch of coast on the edge of the rainwood β¦ lands that Jon Connington knew well, as they had once been his.
In this post I thought it would be fun to discuss the gains made by the Golden Company immediately after their arrival.
A few days ago, I posted about the Size/Strength/Discipline of the Golden Company, that is made up of 10,000 men consisting of:
Arrivals
JonCon notes that just under half the company has arrived at the designed meeting spot. Including 600 out of 1,000 archers:
>Black Balaq commanded one thousand bows. In his youth, Jon Connington had shared the disdain most knights had for bowmen, but he had grown wiser in exile. In its own way, the arrow was as deadly as the sword, so for the long voyage he had insisted that Homeless Harry Strickland break Balaq's command into ten companies of one hundred men and place each company upon a different ship.
>
>Six of those ships had stayed together well enough to deliver their passengers to the shores of Cape Wrath (the other four were lagging but would turn up eventually, the Volantenes assured them, but Griff thought it just as likely they were lost or had landed elsewhere), which left the company with six hundred bows.
In this deserted spot they establish an orderly camp and then split the company into quarters (sending 1/4 of their men to each of Griffin's Roost/Crow's Nest/Rain House and 1/4 to protect the camp):
>βBy this time on the morrow we ought to hold three castles,β he said. The force that had taken Griffinβs Roost represented a quarter of their available strength;

This song and it's progress/conception have to be my favorite thing in the world. For those who don't recognize the piece name, Close in the Distance is the complete version of Ultima Thule's theme.. Anyways, I'm going to share my thoughts on it and general analysis. Also the lyrics as I've made them out to be.
First the lyrics:
Whispers falling silently drift on the wind
But I hear you
Our journey now a memory fading from sight
But I see you
Unbroken promises we made so long ago
You're still here.
Unspoken requiem for a river of tears
-*-
Flowing, winding to one eternal sea,
And yet a hope remains
Guiding, lighting the way,
No time for mourning
Rises on the memory born from the ashes
With the heavens, true sunset
Blood red skies tranquil after the storm,
Blessed shadow
-*-
Turning, wending
Always night follows day
The sun will shine again
Walk on, never look back
Through you we live
-*-
Tales of loss and fire and faith
Every word on our hearts engraved
In the dark you will not stray
Forge ahead til the end, we pray.

So, if you've gotten this far you know that the song changes as you progress the story. I'll go ahead and refresh memories because if you were like me, you just were in a fit of turmoil and distress (ie, a sobbing ball on the floor) for all of this area.
When you first arrive, it's muffled. The sound almost not even considered a song. But more like a foundation of one. (Cannot find this version online) it's both melancholy and.... comforting.
Due to redacted, when you arrive in the next mini area, the music has changed. The foundation hasn't changed, but it has become less clouded.... more bolstered. Most likely do to the percussion that has been added. The song is starting to find its tempo. (Reah Tahra - https://youtu.be/WNYrRbr-5ns )
Yet another redacted, another new mini area. And new music. This time the previous two are present, but more refined. Furthermore, a solo piano piece is added. ((Abode of Ea - https://youtu.be/FSNJg645uwU)
Another redacted. Another area. Another addition. This time we finally get to hear the lyrics. They ring out shrill in what seems to be the cold refines of space: their words comforting and gentle. (Again, can'

Edit: TL;DR Shenhe is the inverse of a Hyper Carry, allowing you to funnel investment into her such that it benefits the rest of the party more if they are minimally invested. In general, she is better than Bennett when the supported character has low talent levels or low ATK-Scaling, if a character has invested talents and high ATK-Scaling they will likely see more mileage out of Bennett rather than Shenhe.
I know how it feels to watch all your expectations get murdered one by one (just look at my avatar T.T) but, like, this is insane to me. The above is the damage calculations for 1 Normal Attack Cycle for a Cryo Yun Jin with Kazuha-Chongyun.
>Assuming 4-AP, 4VV-Shred, 55-70CR:182.2CDMG, R5 White Tassel, C2, DEF Sands, Cryo Goblet
>
>-Hold-E For Shenhe (Q Shred), 70CR w/ Cryo Res, 2-SR + 2-Glad, Triple ATK, Favonius Lance, C0 [E Scaling = 1947.64]
>
>-4-NO for Bennett, 55CR w/out Cryo Res, Alley Flash, C5 [Q buff = 1127.29 ATK]
For reference, here is the comparison of a Xiangling Q before and after Bennett.
>Assuming it hits 10 times, 4-EoSF, 4VV+Guoba Shred, 70CR:105CDMG, R5 The Catch, 4-NO, C6, ATK Sands
63% Damage Increase is no joke either
>Xiangling will of course benefit more from Bennett because her Pyronado is an ATK-Scaling skill with higher ATK-Scaling than Yun Jin's nATKs
Naturally, Yun Jin will consume all 7 Icy Quills within one nATK cycle (she has 2 double hits) but it still takes 3 cycles for Bennett to start out-damaging Shenhe. But here's the thing; this is a LVL 90/90 C5 Bennett with a level 90 Alley Flash and a crowned Q, this compared to a LVL 80/80 C0 Shenhe with a level 80 Fav Lance and a level 6 E.
However, Yun Jin doesn't have high ATK-Scalings in her kit, what if we take someone who is more ATK-Scaling like a C6 Chongyun Q? With the same as previously Shenhe and Bennett investments;
Bennett wins out pretty significantly
But if they are at the same level of investment (i.e. 90/90 Shenhe and Weapon, Crowned E);
[Shenhe is better just slightly

Hey everyone, I've been playing around with calculations over on https://genshin.aspirine.su recently to see how Raiden does with calamity queller, as I don't have her signature weapon. Artifact set I used was of course Emblem of Severed fate, and I plugged in my own raiden build into the mix, which is the following: 2814 overall attack, 32.2% crit rate, 172.8 crit damage, 187 energy recharge, and 93%~ electro damage. I use a r3 calamity queller for my build but I set it to R1 in the calculator. I compared the average damage listed above against 5 weapons.
R1 Calamity Queller: 90, 031
R1 Staff of Homa: 82 834
R1 Engulfing Lightening: 91, 199
R5 the Catch: 80 688
R5 Favonius Lance: 65 103
I was surprised at just how well Calamity Queller kept up with Engulfing lightening with the artifact set that I was running, but I played around with the numbers a bit and gave Raiden an Energy recharge sands with 10.1% crit rate, 10.9% crit damage, and 11.1% attack.
I also gave her a crit rate circlet with 19.4% crit damage and 9.7% energy recharge with HP flat and Def flat rolls to make up for the lack of crit rate in my build. As for the odd numbers, the calculator only allows possible rolls in the substats. The new numbers are as follows:
R1 Calmity Queller: 95 211
R1 Staff of Homa: 94 507
R1 Engulfing Lightening: 98 468
R5 the Catch: 76 518
R5 Favonius Lance: 65 344
In almost every scenario I tested, Calamity queller beat out every other spear besides Engulfing lightening, and in each of the builds, the averages came out to say that Engulfing Lightening R5 is her 100% best in slot, and her second BiS in both builds listed was the R5 calamity queller. I would really like to see everyone's opinion on this and I really hope some math nerds can test this out themselves. If there's any takeaway from this, it's that Raiden is a very flexible character and I'm really glad that other weapons besides her signature can get close to her maximum potential.
