A list of puns related to "Salicylic Acid"
Wayne Goss has been making skincare videos that are straight up dumb as hell for a while now, but his recent one (link) telling people to layer two extremely strong acid products by The Ordinary goes beyond being dumb. It's promoting something that can actively cause a ton of irritation and destroy people's moisture barriers.
The Ordinary explicitly tells people NOT to combine their different acid products. The red peeling solution is so strong that it's actually been banned in Canada and Australia, and there's a class action lawsuit against the company for selling a product that can burn people's skin off.
So for Wayne to blatantly disregard Deciem's instructions and also to just promote ignorance by telling people to layer this already extremely potent acid with The Ordinary's 2% salicylic acid mask is just irresponsible.
Damaging your moisture barrier by doing stuff like this is going to cause a ton of other problems that you want to avoid. A whole bunch of issues like acne and signs of aging can be helped by having a strong moisture barrier, so this is only going to backfire in a ton of different ways.
I'm honestly starting to think makeup influencers should stop talking about skincare. A lot of them are just jumping in now and promoting so many stupid "hacks" without doing even bare minimum research.
God damn its like crack to my skin, stuff makes me skin super soft and brightens it. I feel like either im personally getting rlly good results from it or people just dont talk abt it enough
Hi. Recently my dermatologist prescribed me minimalist salicylic serum at night and wash off next morning. But when I wake up I see puss on my acne. Can someone tell me why puss is forming around. I simply apply serum on my face and sleep. No coverup with moisturizer. Please help. βΉοΈ

I have been using the two for the last 8 months (salicylic on alternate nights and niac. morning daily after cleansing) and wanted to know if thereβs a limit to how long one should use it? Thanks!
Any really cheap salicylic acid body washes? Please donβt recommend the inkey list one, itβs too expensive for the amount of product
Since free consultations are available in our country, I decided to consult a telederm for the first time for my acne.
This is what the prescription looked like:

I'm a bit worried in starting out because from what I know, all of which that were prescribed are quite strong, and I actually have pretty reactive skin. I know that we should have trust in our dermatologists, but I don't know how I can possibly incorporate everything without my skin FREAKING OUT.
As much as I would love to ask my dermatologist about this, I am only allowed to do a follow up after 3 weeks. What should I do?
Should I follow my derma's instructions to the T, or incorporate everything slowly?
Has anybody else found that salicylic acid causes red skin and worse flakes even when following up with moisturizer? I feel as though my face is perpetually red and my skin is very sensitive.
I have been on Tret for six months, 0.05%, and decided to apply 2% BHA on my face prior to buffering with a moisturiser following my Tret. I woke up the next day with an absolute glow to my skin, but fast forward two days, and my skin is starting to become red and irritated. Mind you, I only did this once.
Does anyone successfully use BHA and Tret together? Or was I being foolish?
I've noticed that you pretty much can't get any benzoyl peroxide cleansers influencers commonly recommend in the EU since brands insist on marketing them as acne treatments, i.e. put acne on the product name (is my guess). E.g. the CeraVe foaming acne cleanser.
Also why is the only 2% salicylic acid cleanser available in Europe (that I could find) the Inkey List one? Or is the concentration for European distribution lower than that?
I'm slowly introducing retinol to my skin, using the Keils microcode retinol serum twice a week. I'm meant to use it again this evening but I applied some of The Ordinary salicylic acid 2% anhydrous solution to a patch of hormone acne earlier.
Is it safe to mix on the same day if I cleanse in between or should I wait 24 hours? Or should I just apply the retinol serum but avoid the patch I put salicylic acid on?
So my doctor told me I very small warts(on penile shaft) and recommended I put Compound W liquid on the warts every day for a month, I did this the first time about 5 hours ago and now my penis has dark purple spots on all the warts and it looks super ugly and Iβm scared of scarring. Does anyone have experience with this? Will the dark spots go away? This is too anxiety inducing for me and I already have an appt with the dermatologist in a week so Iβm just gonna stop and get their opinion when I go there.
Edit: The dark spots turned out to be scabs and they peeled off on their own with 0 scarring, looked really scary, turned out to be nothing.
I know that salicylic acid can help keep your skin clear by breaking down dead skin cells, but why doesn't it break down our hair? Hair is made of keratin and is dead. I was looking into hey salicylic acid shampoo and started to wonder this. The only answers I can find online are a bunch of general information medical pages repeating the same information. I can't find any information out there about the actual mode of action on skin or hair.
Really not sure if this is chemistry or human body, but I put it under chemistry because I think it's more about the chemical reaction.
i recently purchased both and want to know how often i should use each + if it's ok to use them together or not. i have combination skin
Quick question:
Anyone use the garnier hair food regularly for an extended period of time and know if it's problematic in any way?? I'm wary of the salicylic acid inside it.
Thank you curl friends, I appreciate the input.
Backstory (skip if ya don't wanna read this):
I'm a 3C curly head from the US living in Hungary and instead of ordering my staple products from the US for like 3 times the usual cost after shipping and VAT (for a second time), I decided to try and use what's available here.
I still have 2-3 months left of my trusty products, but I discovered that the garnier hair food 3-in-1 masks (called hair treats in the US I believe) are made of ingredients that look great in theory and if the hair food were to get along with my curls, I would use that as a mask and as my only leave-in for like the next 6 months since its sold in Hungary.
I'm hesitant cause the ingredients include salicylic acid. It's part of the last 2% of ingredients and I think it's included to help with longevity of the product, but honestly I have no idea of the function.
I don't wan't to damage my hair or my scalp with some inconspicuous seemingly inoffensive ingredient. None of my other hair products contain salicylic acid and I'm suspicious of it.
Apparently it dropped on deciems website today but when I look it just says being reformulated. Iβm in Canada if that makes a difference
I'm trying to put a new routine together and I want to know if any of these actives are going to clash.
AM:
First Aid Beauty AHA facial radiance pads Lancome Tonique Comfort CORSX snail 96 mucin power essence Kiehls Hydroplumping Serum Kiels ultra facial moisturizer spf30 DRMTLGY Universal tinted moisturizer
PM: The Ordinary Squalene cleanser Glow Hub Jelly Cleanser Lancome Tonique Comfort CORSX snail 96 mucin power essence Kiehls Hydroplumping Serum Thirst Class Rich Moisturizer
I want to add in to my pm routine:
Is this too many actives? I'm firm on introducing the retimol and niacinimide to my routine but im not sure whether I should keep using the AHA pads and whether I should introduce the salicylic acid.
