A list of puns related to "Rotary Dial"
Because there's no pound!
I noticed this a couple months ago but it didn't bother me that much at the time, but it's starting to get annoying especially since Google has made some actions take more steps for us rotary users since the big redesign. When rotating the dial or pressing buttons, the cursor has become laggy. It used to be pretty much immediate, either wired or with AAWireless. I could swear that when I started noticing it with wired, for a little while using AAWireless actually wasn't laggy, but now it's just as bad.
Android Auto version is 7.1.614574-release and Google Maps is 11.11.2. Pixel 6 Pro on the December update.
Hi, just starting to work on my throttle bindings (using the Virpil CM3) and I was wondering if people had suggestions on what the various rotary dials could be used for.
I guess one use case would be (like the mouse wheel) for increasing / decreasing mining laser power (although I am sort've thinking of using the flaps lever for that).
Anyway, curious if/what other peeps might use them for.
Hey yall. Recently picked up a Simagic Alpha Mini and am loving it except for the fact that the wheel doesnt have as many buttons as I'm used to. I'm struggling to assign all of the TC, BB, ABS, etc settings in cars where it's available, not to mention even being able to navigate menus without a mouse.
Has anyone in a similar case found a button box that they prefer? Ricmotech has some interesting options but I thought Id ask the question in here before pulling the trigger. is a stream deck a good option?
What do you guys bind to the wheels on the throttle? The best I've come up with is "deploy fighter" and "focus target" nothing else seems to make sense with how they work and their locations

So I'm searching for a smart device that can adjust the light intensity for my smart bulbs but I just can't seem to find anything good enough. I want it to be self sustained - either with cable for power, or with battery. I'm not searching for wall mounted dimmer switch.
I basically would love a Flic smart button but to be able to rotate it and adjust the light brightness.
Does homekit even support native "slider/dimmer" like accessories?
This is what i've found at the moment:
-Aqara rotary dimmer - it's wall mounted like other solutions...
-Xiaoyan/Terncy Smart Dial - it doesn't have support for homekit (only for the push button, not for the rotary dial). It uses zigbee - I'm thinking if there is a way to forward the rotary dial events to my homekit lights (which don't use zigbee).
-Senic Nuimo - which would have been amazing but I think it's a dead product...
- I've looked at video editing jog wheels or even wireless DJ cross faders but nothing seems to be robust enough: have enough battery life, be smart enough, look decent, etc.
Do you guys know a good accessory that would fit my description? I'm even willing to set up a homebridge server if needed (as i'e already done this in the past with some smart plugs).
Some rotary phones work, some do not. What's the official answer on:
Rate: 10 pps or 20 pps? Break: 60% or 66%? Inter-digit Pause: 800 ms or other?
Lots of car reviewers I watch comment on how the infotainment screen in some cars is βon top of the dashboardβ as opposed to integrated into it.
Think more old Audiβs with the pop up screen.
For the life of me, I cannot understand this. I guess it matters less now that sat nav/ music is becoming stars to be controlled from where the speedometer was with βvirtual cockpitsβ.
If Iβm going to look away from the road at something, I want to just look across, not across and down.
Similarly with the rotary dial the BMWs and mazdas have, is this not just way safer to use while driving as opposed to leaning across the dashboard?
Perhaps Iβm alone in this. But big screen on top of the dash with rotary dial to control it seems like by far the safest thing for a driver to use?
If nothing else, it prevents greasy finger marks on the infotainment screen.
Just wondering if any of you had used a dial gear shift in the past and wanted to ask your thoughts/opinions on it
Hello all,
I was just wondering if there might be a way to turn the square-based speed dial function into something more like a pie chart where you select a piece of the pie and that acts as your speed dial? It's an aesthetic choice for a project I'm working on. Thanks in advance!
