I was just curious about this since their names sounds slightly the name.

Sorry, I was just thinking about the origins of the Royal Families on what could they be referred to in either Roman History or possibly Greek History.

Rhea is a tall, willowy, and pale sixteen-year-old girl. Platinum blonde hair swishes in thin, layered angles down to the middle of her back. Ever since then, Rhea has had a bright silver crescent moon behind her left ear, which she diligently hides with her long blonde hair. Rhea is pleased to be at Hogwarts because it means she is away from her father, whom she vehemently hates. She has participated in the underground tattoo market at Hogwarts; she has an elegant snake tattoo encircling her upper right arm. She is intimidating, quiet, but arrogantly and vehemently proud, especially when her family's history is referenced. She is a little wild, breaking rules as often as she can, and thumbs her nose at authority. She does her best to come off as aggressive and push people away, but if she is pushed back enough, she has been known to show her reluctant vulnerable side. Deep down, she's just a scared girl that has never fully recovered from witnessing death at such a young age. She has a thing for Pureblood men. Her wand is 8.5 inches, made of white birchwood with the hair of a unicorn tail.

Firstly we have the patriarchal stories and the Exodus, two origin stories that don’t need one another. The story of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and his sons are a perfectly standalone and reasonable origin myth for the existence of the Hebrew people, their tribal divisions and their presence in Canaan; similarly, the story of Moses, a prince of Egypt with origins in a slave caste and religious minority who leads his people out of Egypt through Sinai and into Canaan, which they then conquer is a totally standalone and reasonable origin myth for the Hebrew people and their presence in Canaan as well. The thread connecting them, that after returning from the slavery that his jealous brothers sold him into in Egypt, Joseph leads his people back into Egypt to escape famine, where they become enslaved and captive as a nation and so have to be led back into the promised land seems like sort of an ad hoc way to connect these two stories. The evidence shows us that the United Davidic kingdom is a myth, that they were two separate kingdoms from the start who only became one after the northern kingdom was destroyed by Assyria and those who weren’t carried away fled south into Judah, minding that these two stories make sense to me as the unique origin myths of Israel and Judah respectively, which were deliberately tied together after Israel was destroyed as a way of integrating the northerners and the southerners into one people or one nation. In addition, the documentary hypothesis posits that the Pentateuch has 5 sources, J E D P and the redactor, within that the J source (called such because it refers to God by the proper name YHWH, ie Jehovah or Yahweh) seems to originate in Judah, while the E source (called such because it refers to God as Elohim) seems to originate in Israel, that these two scriptural traditions were integrated and redacted into one during and immediately after the Babylonian exile seems to add circumstantial evidence to the idea of these were two separate origin myths that were integrated as one. The other possibility is that the Exodus story is the original origin myth, as part of a cultural memory of Egyptian rule in Canaan during the Bronze Age, and that the patriarchal stories, of Abraham originating in Mesopotamia and coming into Canaan to build a great nation were concocted during the Babylonian exile as a means of inspiration (“our forefathers left Mesopotamia to form our nation just as we will one day leave Mesopotamia to reform our nation”)

I found Accalia in a thread and really love it. It has a special meaning to us, which is an added bonus (linked to Romulus and Remus, who found Rome - our daughter who was stillborn last year is Romilly, meaning 'of Rome'.

There seems to be 2 pronunciations, we prefer the Ah-KAY-lee-ah one which seems to be the most popular.

Is it usable? Or too weird? A FB search shows a few.dozen around the world, including 2 in my country, so I think that while it might not be a name people have heard of, it has a legitimate history and presence.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

I have been really into Ancient civilizations since I was very little but recently I started reading about Rome. I grew interested in the Vestal Virgins and began to read about them. During that, I found an account by a Greek historian (Zosimus) concerning the last vestal virgin, an artifact I had never heard of in an academic source before, and the niece of Theodosius I (named Serena). The legend is recounted here 0490-0510,_Zosimus,_Historia_Nova_(Green_and_Chaplin_AD_1814),_EN.pdf (documentacatholicaomnia.eu) on page 69, 2nd paragraph. Essentially, Serena steals an artifact known as Rhea Silvia’s necklace from a statue inside a temple. I can find no other mention of this artifact (except the claims of this Robin Rivers person who says it can be found in The Sibylline Chronicles but I looked and couldn’t find it), which I find odd as Rhea was the mother of Romulus, the legendary founder.

The questions in bold are the ones I really would like answered if anyone doesn't have the time to do them all. I know these are a lot of questions and I've posted them previously without any answers, but I really am curious. Thank you.

1) Do historians believe the artifact existed based on Zosimus’ account?

2. Are there other sources on this- either academic or mythological?

3. Is Zosimus' account considered too biased against Christians to accept it as proof the necklace existed? That after the downfall of Serena and her family, he formed a tale to explain it as the actions of pagan gods on "impious" Christians?

4)If an artifact is lost to time (or hasn't been found), how do historians determine if it likely existed?
