A list of puns related to "Release To Manufacture"
Edit: Some people have taken my request for more common hole spacing for the GPU to mean that I don't think the memory and VRM shouldn't be cooled, which isn't true. Of course the memory and VRM will require their own cooling, one does not preclude the other, we can have both common hole spacing and cooling on the VRM and memory. I assumed it went without saying.
You were asking for software and feature suggestions a few weeks ago, but maybe hardware suggestions would be welcome too?
I've got a Vega 64, and using all in one liquid coolers for my card requires a fair bit of modification on the all in one, modifications I don't feel comfortable doing to be completely frank. It'd be cool if I could just slap a Corsair h-Whatever on my RX 5950 XT on day one, without needing to modify anything.
Is that something that you guys can do? I mean I'm guessing that the size of the hole spacing has to do with the size of the chip, so maybe this is out of everybody's hands, but if it's early enough to do something about the PCB manufacturing to make the change then I think you ought to.
Hell, make it a selling point! "The only GPU made for water cooling!" or something like that.
You'd make enthusiasts happy, you'd make system builders happy, I bet you'd even make your board partners happy, if the end product used the most common hole spacing available.
Maybe even do one hole spacing across the entire product line? I imagine that would save a lot of money for a lot of people in the long run.
Just putting it out there. Make of it what you will.

I know this sounds silly, but I want to work through the possibility and why I think Tesla could manufacture 1 million cars in 2021, if batteries can keep up.
First and foremost, for this to happen battery production needs to increase substantially. Panasonic has recently announced they are ready to ramp production of battery cells at GF1 to 54GWh β up from about 35GWh now. Tesla has reached battery cell production and purchase agreements with LG Chem and CATL to provide cells for GF3 in Shanghai β we do not yet know the details of numbers, but the deal should support full output of 500,000+ combined Model 3 and Model Y. Tesla also plans to produce some batteries in house β yet to be made official, but an announcement is expected during a βbattery and powertrain investor dayβ later this year.
Tesla grew production output by 50% YoY from 2018 - 2019. This was accomplished because of the Model 3 ramp. Looking forward they have several more things working to help them grow faster. They have 4 new vehicles, and 2 new factories coming online or in construction. They are also expanding supplier partnerships and in house manufacturing to tackle growth from multiple points.
Now on to production. Freemont has just demonstrated a production run rate over 400,000 units per year when extrapolated over 4 quarters. This does not include Model Y, which has been in pre-production for a couple months, and is expected to begin production in Q1, and reach volume production by mid-year.
Model S/X production took a hit this year and will likely stay lower for the foreseeable future. Expect 50,000-60,000 units per year going forw
... keep reading on reddit β‘I have nothing else to add. How do we, as a people, make this happen?
Even more so with Trump saying he wants to seek peace. That way when the attack happens he can say βI tried to seek peace but they responded with violence, war is the only optionβ.
So many huge companies with strong ties to the government need war to fuel their business. With most Americans pushing to withdraw from the Middle East a new conflict is needed. A new enemy to rally against so we donβt mind the government spending 2 trillion dollars.
Sure hope Iβm wrong though.
