A list of puns related to "Regulares"
Just watched the half-hour special Skips' Story (jolly good show) and it got me thinking: What if RS normally had half hour, 22 minute episodes in general?
The 11 minute format does work wonders for the type of stories that Regular Show have in their episodes- being only a quarter of an hour, each episode has to be fast-paced, and get to the plot points quickly. This works well for a show on CN, as kids (although it is well-known that RS has a big teen/adult audience as well) probably don't have the patience to sit thru an entire half-hour for every episode.
I'd argue though, that although having quick pacing is a great thing for the show, I sometimes feel that the 11 minute constraints give some episodes a rushed feel. Take "A Skips In Time" for example: the ending with Skips showing Mordo and Rigby his past self with their pizza pouches was super wholesome, but the episode has only a few seconds left before cutting to the credits, cutting the moment a bit short.
Simply stretching the timeslot to 22 minutes does provide its own problem, of course- the plot of a regular (pun intended...) non-special RS episode would get really slow if it had to fill more airtime. The style of writing/plot would have to be quite different- I would imagine an A-plot/B-plot system would be cool, like an episode of a live- action sitcom, for example.
I'm not quite entirely sure if Regular Show's style as a whole would adapt well regularly (another one intended) to an half-hour format, but its something I like thinking about sometimes. Feel free to write your own opinions below- discussion is fun!
Hola comunidad!
I watch this show for the queens but I've loved RuPaul since her 90s talk show on VH1. I was talking to a friend about how since season 6ish, it's looked a bit like Ru was cashing a check more than investing in a community. And no (serious) judgement. She's a working girl, and I can respect the hustle.
But this past episode?
Ru's comment about the top 6 being one of her favorites (how she wished they could be top 6 forever) seemed genuine. Her joy in her comment to tonight's eliminated queen was supportive and different than the regular pun. It feels like this was a season which reconnected her with the show. But [redacted]'s impact on the oeuvre of the season lingers. It's a shame for many reasons beyond the confines of a reality television show, obviously, but it certainly sucks for the show, as well.
TLDR: I don't need mother RuPaul. I live for the queens. But it's nice that Ru looks like she cares again.
Side Note: Ugh. I love Whoopi.
Hola.
Most bots in games usually have some kind of consistency with their naming. Usually it’s just whatever character they are, but some games throw in puns or references. Like in Call of Duty, all of the bots are named after the development team (D. Vonderharr, M. Lamia, etc) and in TF2, they’re puns of either Valve’s games or just regular puns (Crowbar, A Professional With Standards, Chell, Dog, C++, etc, etc)
I think that giving the bots pun names could give us a good chuckle when they pop up in the kill feed and let us know if they actually are a bot.
EDIT: ok, maybe I’m not paying attention to the names enough, I’ve just been glancing and thought they were normal for pc standards
In the last couple months I've noticed an increased amount of people complaining about Reddit's misogynistic and homophobic behaviour, but I have to say in more than a year of browsing here I've never really seen a blatantly and seriously offensive post. Sure there's the regular pun that gets a lot of votes but I'd say it's more because people found it funny rather than offensive.
I think it's about the same for reddits like /beatingwomen, which are funny because they are deliberately ultra-offensive, I doubt many posters there are entirely serious... Or maybe they are? Am I mistaken here?
What do you think?
edit: removed mensrights since they're not really 'offensive'
