A list of puns related to "Proper Velocity"
I get that the dust and everything is supposed to be it, but sometimes, especially in the middle of combat, it just isn’t clear enough
In the past, I've generally used audio drum loops. The loops I've bought also have single hits of multiple velocities and I've recently discovered that I could just build my own drums in Impact.
When I add the samples to the pad (say I've got 9 different velocities for the snare), Impact by default spaces the velocity triggers all equally.
I'm guessing that's not a good idea. I'm thinking they would be more clumped in the middle, right? Not equally spaced out. Is there a general guideline or rule how it's done for drums?
I've been playing around with GameMaker Studio a bit, trying to build a simple platformer level and be able to run a sprite through it to get some basic concepts down. I'm working with 32x32 pixel blocks for ground (and wider, 32x128, etc), and I'm having a hard time determining how to space platforms and how to relate spacing to jump velocity/acceleration in order to make it feel like a platformer. Ideally, I'd like to determine before level design how far and high my sprite will jump, then build the level knowing this information. Can anyone provide information or resources on this? I haven't been successful with Google.
I'm not afraid of math so equations are great!
Every time the aim assist (AA) debate comes up, there's so many misconceptions about how AA even works being passed around that it's hard to have a proper discussion about it.
The purpose of this post, therefore, is to serve as a comprehensive breakdown of (1) how AA works, and (2) a summary of all the common arguments surrounding it, including all possible rebuttals I'm aware of. Sources are linked in-text when available. Please keep in mind that while I try to maintain as objective of a lens in the first half as possible, I personally do not think it's possible for me to do so when describing arguments on AA; therefore, there will inevitably be bias in the second half, which I invite you to poke holes into.
My goal is that whenever someone posts a bad-faith argument or outright incorrect information about AA, that you can just link them to this post (or copypaste from it) and not have to bother typing a reply to something that's been said a million times already.
A little disclaimer about myself to clarify any possible biases I may have. I am a Masters Mouse & Keyboard (MnK) player with mostly other MnK friends, but we have a few in our friend group who are on console or use controller. I have myself played on console but only casually, with probably around 100-200 hours on console Apex, all in pubs. My console K/D is higher, but this can easily be attributed to being put in easier lobbies most of the time. I personally disagree with the way AA is implemented in Apex, but I would not consider myself an anti-AA extremist by any means.
If you haven't watched "What 100% Aim Assist looks like in Apex Legends", do yourself a favor and watch it. If you don't feel like watching it, that's okay, I'm going to break down everything it discusses in finer detail, but it might help to see it in action. Note that the 100% AA section uses R5 Reloaded, which is a modded version of Apex that uses the same source code as Season 3. R5 Reloaded's AA algorithm is therefore exactly the same as Apex's, as the current AA algorithm is identical to S3's.
1. Aim Assist on Console vs PC
Console AA is set by default to 0.6 (or 60%) AA, including the Nintendo Switch. Console players have the choice to switch down to PC aim assist values by going into ALC settings. PC AA is locked at 0.4 (or 40%) AA and cannot be set to anything higher. AA can also be disabled entirely on all platforms by goin

Hey guys! So as title says, we recently hit 6,600,000 monthly organic traffic / month for a B2C SaaS website (screenshot. Can't give name publicly, but can show testimonial to a mod).
Here's 40 tips that "helped" me make this happen.
If you get some value of the post, I write an SEO tip every other day on /r/seogrowth. There's around 10 more tips already up there other than the ones I mention here. If you want to give back for all my walls of text, I'd appreciate a sub <3
Also, there are a bunch of free stuff I mention in the article: content outline, writer guidelines, SEO checklist, and other stuff. Here's the Google Doc with all that!
A lot of the SEO advice and best practices on the internet are based on 2 things:
And, unfortunately, neither of these sources are always accurate.
Personal SEO accounts are simply about what worked for specific companies. Sometimes, what worked for others, won’t work for you.
For example, you might find a company that managed to rank with zero link-building because their website already had a very strong backlink profile. If you’re starting with a fresh website, chances are, you won’t be able to get the same results.
At the same time, information from Google or John Mueller is also not 100% accurate. For example, they’ve said that guest posting is against Google’s guidelines and doesn’t work…
But practically, guest posting is a very effective link-building strategy.
So the takeaway is this:
Take all information you read about SEO with a grain of salt. Analyze the information yourself, and make your conclusions.
You’ve already heard this one before, but considering how many people keep asking, thought I'd include this anyway.
On average, it’s going to take you 6 months to 2 years to get SEO results, depending on the following factors:
Fleet-Cardinal Krenn watched from the bridge of his flagship as the planet below burned, and he was pleased. The cities of the Unworthy made for the perfect inaugural pyre for the renewal of the Holy Endeavor. They would continue to serve Kra as they had before the Mortification.
He shook his head in thought as he remembered those days. He had been a child when their Endeavor had first begun.
Initially, the Chosen's Holy Endeavor had met with success. Over a period of twenty years, a dozen unclean worlds had been discovered and cleansed, ready for the servants of Kra to purify. Three species of his Unworthy Children had even been fully extinguished! A triumph!
Kra had been pleased by his Chosen Children's attempts to aid his Great Servants, and rewarded them greatly. As their Endeavor progressed, His Great Servants had purified five unclean worlds very close to the Home Systems, each a blank slate, ready to be remade in the image of Kra's greatest work, Krathig-yar.
New homes and resources for the Chosen.
Then, disaster had struck. A large group of Unworthy species had been encountered, that worked together. They began coordinating their forces with others to oppose righteous cleansing. But the true depth of their depravity was revealed when they began employing unholy synthetic life against the Chosen; Thou Shalt Not Create Life, For That Is The Domain Of Kra.
The Chosen had despaired, as their fleets had been destroyed, corrupted by the Unworthy's unholy familiars, and been pushed back to the Home Systems.
It had taken what became known as The Mortification to stop them, so named because it was both a humiliation and a penance. Humiliated by their defeats at the hands of the Unworthy, The Chosen had thrown themselves at their enemy in the millions, using ramshackle, quickly built ships with as little automation as possible to prevent corruption.
It had required the sacrifice of twenty percent of their population to stop the Unworthy, but they had done it. He remembered, as a young priest-captain, watching from the bridge of his ship as their enemy finally withdrew.
The massive funeral pyres on the surface of Krathig-yar after.
Two decades of salvaging and rebuilding their fleet.
But this time, they would not fail. The Mortification had purged the weakness from the Cho

In advance, I wanna say: if anything I am saying feels patronizing, know that I had to go through this entire painful journey myself. A lot of times it sucked. But I was 0.8 KDA for my first 750 hours and could barely retire a hunter. Now after 1500 hours, I'm well above 2.2 KDA, have almost 150 maxed out hunters, and I'm still improving--all because I bit the bullet and made these (and more) changes:
I get that it would be a direct upgrade to the 1876, but it should be in here. They basically killed the market for the 1876 IRL when they came out, but it could be balanced by making it real expensive. Thoughts?
Onboard the Krathi command ship, two dozen Krathi engineers and technicians headed towards the engineering section. Their objective: regain control of the vessel’s power systems and FTL drive. If they could not, it was imperative they find a way to destroy the ship. The Demon must not be allowed to take their ship and databases intact.
As they rode the tram through the ship’s spinal maintenance corridor, everyone was nervous, but not just because they may die soon; the corridor was completely silent, save for the echoes of tram wheels on rails, bouncing off the cavernous tunnel walls. Normally the corridor absolutely teemed with activity; the tunnel and it’s rail network connected the cargo bays, hangar, and engineering, along with numerous other stops, allowing technicians to traverse the ship, and transport even large components and equipment to where it needed to go.
But right now it was eerily silent. The entire corridor had been opened to vacuum by the Demon, casting everyone inside into the void of space. It had been difficult even getting here; all the access points to the corridor were locked down. They had been had forced to don vac-suits and space walk their way in through the hangar. Once inside, they used the manual overrides to lock down the airlocks and hangar doors, and then welded them shut for good measure, before restoring atmosphere. They also kept their vac-suits on, though they opened their helmet visors to save O2.
No one wanted to take chances they had missed something.
From behind the group’s tram, a whistling noise echoed down the corridor.
CHOOO CHOOOOOO!
They all turned to look behind them. It was hard to make out details, but in the distance there was a blue and grey object with a small splash of red, following on the rails behind them.
As it grew closer, they began to make out details. It was some sort of vehicle; a square blue body with red trim at the bottom, a black cylinder at the top, billowing smoke. But one feature in particular drew their attention, and inspired pure terror.
At the center of the vehicle was a large, round, grey face. It had two huge white eyes whose pupils were as black and empty as space, and a mouth curved into a shallow upwards opening parabola.

The deck beneath my feet shook as the shuttle’s engines pushed it up through the atmosphere, the troop bay lit only by warning strips along the ceiling, the glow of the flames that licked at the craft’s stubby nose bleeding in through the small portholes. Two dozen other recruits occupied the rows of crash couches that were lined up against the walls, buffeted by the turbulence as they clung to the armrests of their seats with white knuckles. Their eyes darted about nervously, their faces lit by the orange glare, all clad in matching uniforms in a shade of Navy blue.
I reached down and checked that my safety harness was secure, tugging it a little tighter around my chest and ensuring that the buckle was properly fastened. This wasn’t my first trip into space, but I hadn’t had time to get used to it yet. I was still muddy, as the Marines and the well-traveled of Earth’s upper echelons referred to those who had spent most of their lives planetside, in reference to the terrestrial soil and dirt that they liked to imagine still caked our boots. Personally, I hadn’t seen Earth in months. I had been spending my days hopping between planets and stations as my fellow recruits and I were ferried to our ultimate destination.
Was I starting to regret joining the United Nations Navy? No, there was a war to be fought, and I wanted to do my part. The day that I had turned nineteen, I had dropped out of agricultural college against the wishes of my father, and I had enlisted in the Navy. Many of my friends had done the same. We had imagined forming a unit together, but before we could so much as protest, we had been sent off around the world to different boot camps. I hadn’t seen any of my comrades since, but I had successfully completed basic training, and today was the final step in my journey. I was finally going to finish my training and become a real UNN Marine.
The colony planet dwindled behind our little dropship as it broke through the upper atmosphere, the shaking abating and the flickering flames fading as the sky beyond the nearest porthole shifted from azure to a dark, velvety black. Stars twinkled, harsher and colder than they had ever looked from the ground. I thanked those stars that there was no weightlessness. That had been one of the least enjoyable parts of the training. The shuttle was equipped with an AG fie

Before I explain what I think is going on in the wind turbine video, it is important to note that since I don’t have direct experience in wind turbines I can only comment on concepts. Take everything I say with a grain of salt.
For starters, since John mentioned that operation Phoenix is a bunch of innovations coming together, I'm thinking that OP Pheonix is going to be a combination of new innovations in the renewable energy sector. This energy that is produced is going to either power Gambia as a whole or a certain region of Gambia where Safemoon will be used as the currency to purchase daily goods and services (electricity). They will be taxed 2% on every transaction while still being much cheaper than other electricity providers. This will incentivize the Gambian government to purchase safemoon (either at 0% tax or at the 10% tax which will cause the first part of the burn). Then for every kW produced 2% of that transaction will also contribute to the burn. This is going to be massive for long term holders and the total supply of Safemoon. If this test works surrounding countries to Gambia will try to adopt (I hope this is why John was speaking to Akon who is making a crypto currency for Senagal the direct neighbor of Gambia.
- Wind energy from wind turbines (currently bring implemented)
- Solar energy (from the sun using solar panels, but I’m thinking that they will also deal with nanoparticles and coatings to make solar panels more efficient. The problem with solar panels is that sometimes in areas with bad weather the solar panels are covered with dirt and dust and therefore without constantly being cleaned it will not function at 100% efficiency since the sun wont be hitting every part of the solar panel due to the blockage. I also remember John mentioning that they started with wind because it is more efficient and they will also do solar panels). I suggest the team to use some of the electricity produced from the solar panels to have wipers which run x times a day that cleans the panel. If they need me to sketch up a concept I can...
- Hydroelectricity (This is energy produced from rivers and dams which have water descending from a high point to a low point. According to some articles, the main source of renewable energy in t

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Harriett the Spy
Herbert was breathing heavily into his mic again. Which tells her that he’s thinking about the army of children he’s having. She rolls her eyes. She can get being worried about having that many kids, she has a hard time figuring she would have that many, ever, but parenthood is a daunting prospect.
Still he was still focused enough for him to quiet down as she taps the mic and continues on her way. This is one of the more concerning groups on Centris. They refer to themselves as The Society. Which places them in the wonderful company of several hundred thousand such groups with the same name, their classification in the Intelligence Division was The Society A-21, the A is for Alarming and twenty one in that there are just so freaking many even after you pare down the ones that were jumped up country clubs or civilian interest groups with odd uniforms. Alarming designations are those that have the power or apparent will to do something, it meant it required attention. However if it was a real problem then it would be moved to I or Immediate.
There were a total of three The Society’s in I category. However this one was a maybe. It had been investigating into Undaunted affairs and pushing into areas that it shouldn’t. Curiosity was to be expected, over-eagerness was also to be expected, but these people had been digging into individual soldiers and not in the almost cute looking for a boyfriend kind.
So here she was, wearing the face of a middle tier member of The Society A-21 that she had drugged and left on her bed back home. Not that the face was needed, but if anyone looked too closely at the mask they’d see that the face behind it was matching up regardless, it was just good sense to be thorough when it came to things like this.
Her Axiom profile not only matching her cover’s but also a semi-hungover state made it so that many of the cultists wandered away from her. Which made sense, Loretta Weather was a grouchy sort at the best of times. When hungover she was outright mean. She was just getting in, dropping an entire infestation worth of bugs, and then getting out while ‘paying her dues’ to The Society as Loretta would on her off days.
“Someone’s showing up at Six Thirty.” Herbert whispers into his mic and Harriett deliberately stops as if she has a headache and growls a little. Loretta’s known to do it when her hangovers spike, whoever’s been coming up behind her stops abruptly and goes the other way. Why did this group of idi

No-Pats,
It’s only a few days past our global launch, and there are already millions of you playing Battlefield 2042. We’re happy to see so many of you back on the battlefield - almost twice as many at this point as our last release. So first, thank you to all of you - how you’re playing and what you’re creating in the game is amazing and beyond our expectations. We’re also listening closely to your feedback which is helping to shape updates to come.
We couldn’t be more passionate about this game and will be supporting and evolving it for years to come. We have confirmed at least two major game updates in the coming weeks, and we'll be here communicating consistently about the changes we are making, as well as new content coming to Battlefield 2042.The teams across the globe are working 24/7 to evolve and deliver improvements to the game. Since launch we’ve made a number of service updates that have improved server performance as well as the vaulting and restoration of content not performing in line with our designs.
We also want to give you the assurance that we’re carefully evaluating your desire to see legacy features return. End-of-match Scoreboard, Server Browser, and features like Voice Chat are big topics for us to cover all at once, and we have plenty we want to say around them. We’ll come back to you when we have things that we can show to you, including details about our long-term vision for certain features and functions.
Now, let’s focus on what is coming. We’ll be delivering Update #2 for the game on Thursday, November 25, followed by a further, substantial Update #3 in early December. We are also working on another update that we are looking to deploy in advance of the Holidays too. In addition to the updates that are coming, we’ll also be sharing more about Season 1 in early 2022.
For the latest on these updates and further developments, we’ll continue to provide updates through Battlefield Direct Communications on Twitter straight from the Development and Community teams.
Here’s what we’ve identified as our areas of focus for the upcoming updates:
Performance and Server Stability

... keep reading on reddit ➡There's a lot of new changes to the Website, including several big changes to the chart itself
I've redesigned the ammo chart to reflect the recent changes this wipe:
Removed Armor Damage %
This was a rarely useful stat, that I think confused a lot of people about what it represented or did. It was a modifier to the armor damage dealt to armor, but the base armor damage is based on the pen of the ammo more than anything. It was only ever useful for comparing two ammos with nearly the same pen to see which would destroy armor slightly faster. It confused people, it wasn't that useful, and I felt the chart was getting cluttered so it's gone now.
Added Recoil +/-%
Ammo recoil hasn't actually worked properly until this wipe so it hasn't been relevant until now. It is in %. It is not a flat change.
Added Effective Range
So this is a sort of made-up stat to give a good representation of damage falloff. This is the distance at which a bullet has lost 25% of its total damage and pen, measured in meters. This stat does not take into account changes to muzzle velocity from the gun. Muzzle velocity changes produce complicated changes in damage falloff, so don't go looking for increased velocity guns just for less damage falloff.
Added Maximum Headshot Distance
This is the maximum distance at which a bullet can do 35 damage. This stat does not take into account changes to muzzle velocity from the gun.
These range stats were far more relevant a few days ago before they changed damage falloff, but they're still a nice to have I guess.
Here's a larger list of other features added over the last month:

“Ok, what are you doing, and why do you want to go to the hub to get on a transport?”
Cavla was unhappy with the request that Frost had made.
“Let’s put it like this; do you want to be a part in Human scientific history? Because you will if you guys come with me.” Frost wanted them to come with him, but Cav seemed opposed to the idea of deserting their post. Despite the fact that nobody would be able to come towards them within the next 24 hours.
“Just what are you doing?”
“The first manned Human slipspace craft just popped up in the middle of nowhere after 50 years. We only got a ping from it, but we know that it exists. I have been ordered by the UEAC to go. I hate to say it, but that kinda goes over your orders.” Frost explained.
“Ok, that I understand. It’s the 50 year old ship that doesn’t make sense.” Cav was obviously less upset now, and definitely more curious.
“Yeah, I don’t know about that either. Luckily, we only like to change ports if we are making money, so the Human docking port on the transport up there should work with the Human docking port out there.” Frost hoped what he had said was truth. It was based around truth, but the docking ports have changed a little bit over the years. Hopefully the VAL ports never changed.
“Hmm.”
Frost stepped into the armory and started to remove his normal combat gear. “Come on, it’ll be a good look into Human spaceflight history. Besides, I’m not kidding, we will be in Human scientific history.”
“Fine, I’ll run it by the others, see if they want to.”
“Great! You guys will need to be in EVA suits.” Frost was fairly happy with that result.
“Isn’t it pressurized?” she questioned.
“Fifty years Cav, and I’m gonna guess that most of those are without maintenance.”
“Oh… You think…” she trailed off.
“Yeah… Whatever. Go get the rest.” Frost continued to remove his combat gear. His suit was seeing a lot of use as a personal and communal heater, so he had to let it charge. It was still hooked up to the wall, chugging away at the power banks as it charged. He looked at the charge in the suit’s cells.

Pete was nearly two hours into the burn, just coming up to the point where they’d initiated the turnover, when he caught the edges of the radio chatter from far ahead. He had to sift through the static put out by the sun, but what he could hear was disturbing.
“… escue Golf Niner Niner Whiskey to unidentified ship, this is a restricted through-passage area. Vacate the area immediately, over.”
“… I say again, vacate the area immediately, over.”
“… er Whiskey to Oscar Romeo Five, we have an unidentified vessel encroaching on the grazer’s through-passage line. Failing to respond to hails, no return on IFF, over.”
“… meo Five to Golf Niner Niner Whiskey, you are authorised to close with that ship immediately and remove them from the area of operations, do you copy? Over.”
“… er Whiskey copies, remove unknown ship by force. Moving to comply. Golf Niner Niner Whiskey, out.”
The radio was scratchy at best, but he could still hear the outrage in the pilot’s voice. Orbital Rescue was in the job of keeping people alive, and the last thing they needed was some idiot blundering into the middle of a delicate operation like this one. Worse, they either didn’t have a working radio, weren’t on the correct frequencies, or were choosing not to answer the calls. Keeping their IFF transponder off wouldn’t help them much if G-99-W got close enough to put a searchlight on the hull and read off their registration details that way. And once the Heavy got its clamps onto their hull and dragged them the hell out of the way, they weren’t going anywhere except where Orbital Rescue said they were going.
He hadn’t spoken much with Mik after that first conversation, wanting to conserve her radio battery (and tanked air) as much as possible. Now, he wasn’t sure if she’d heard that exchange. If she asked, he decided, he’d tell her what was going on, but otherwise he wouldn’t worry her.
The minutes crawled by, his engines thundered, and his speed steadily increased. A pair of the aux tanks went empty at the same time—this was deliberate—and used the last gasp of their fuel vapours to kick themselves away from the rescue ship in diametricall
