A list of puns related to "Police Drama"
Like, functionally speaking...ya'll are asking for a feature you've logistically experienced a dozen or more times now (for me at least 2 dozen games...minimum)...over and over again...WHAT would make it extra special to see police cars chase you and you shoot back SO much more special in 2077 than in Los Santos in 2010? That the bullets auto-track? Like come on.
Specifically...WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT POLICE CHASES? Police resistance in gaming is so overdone I legit roll my eyes when it happens in a Rockstar game because it is so unfun and so lazy...over and over and over and over as the only form of resistance in a game that could do it so many other ways.
Car chases for what? Because we don't have car combat, we don't have car customization, we don't have car races that are anything but a vehicle for telling a story about revenge, we can't steal cars nor does it matter because there is so little car content...and ya'll what? Want a different game about cars instead of this cyberpunk game? Do you want a Cyberpunk car racing game snuck inside a city simulator that's entire story doesn't even mention racing?
Like sure, maybe wraiths have those miniturrets like in Panams truck and they can use it on us in quests in the Badlands...that's be a neat different enemy type....but just some police shooting out the window cuz we did a petty crime or blew up a marketplace for no reason? Nah. I don't care. At all. This game legit gives you no reason for that to be something you do or police to be the response.
I get there is drama around it, but ALL this drama is doing is seemingly an attempt to push them to develop Chase AI in a game with little to no car content...in a game that has lots of traffic, lots of the map isn't accessible by road, most of the playspaces aren't near a road, it'd be easier to get away from cops by not even getting in a car because of the map design...like...I'm just so confused why THIS issue is in such high demand that ya'll are literally trying to push a campaign to get it added? Every time it recirculates it is just spammed with GTA Clones being referenced and the narrative that "every game ever has really good police AI" gets spoonfed as if it's even true...like what? Most RPGs don't even have police AI. GTA is a sandbox.
Sure, if they dedicated an expansion of content to give me a reason to interact with chase AI...sure: I love good racing and death racing and ambushes and what not...but as it stands, there are like a handful of

Current Original Thread: Fast forward to now, and one TikTok user has decided to continue the fight. Armed with a fishing rod, some donuts and some masks she takes to the subway to tempt some officers.
The drama: Not all of the redditors are behind her crusade and the comments quickly devolve into many, many slapfights. Discussions abound about masks, the TT'ers choice of outfit and policing in the US.
"Yes if there is an emergency they will hop the turnstile. Theyβre not gonna sit there and pay the fare just to do their job they are city employees that arenβt using it to travel. Theyβre doing their jobs. Youβre telling me if someone is shot on the other side of it that itβs wrong to hop it to help them? I digress and I welcome the downvotes from you morons. Have at it"
"In a video chock full of idiocy, that might just have been the stupidest part.Β What sort of dunderhead expects them to pay subway fares when responding to calls?"
"Not cringe.. all cops are bastards."
No they are not. Edit: Your boos mean nothing to me. Iβve seen what makes you cheer.

Is still very cheesy at times but a lot of the kit, language and radio usage is more realistic than other shows. Also, a bit like the early Line of Duty series it does well at showing some of the more annoying and nuanced issues too. Not a UK one but Southland is good for that as well, seems to be a favourite with cops across the pond.
So whilst nothing is truly accurate, what is the closest to reality police drama (no documentaries) tv series out there? Or at least makes a good attempt at it?

Also sorry if the baseball joke in the title is corny. I just canβt resist making jokes about his baseball career.
I honestly cant tell anymore what Im watching.
My wife happened to be sitting on the couch during the last episode and she even said "I'm intrigued with whats going on here" and then WHAM! Baileys "husband" shows up out of nowhere right when Nolan was going to propose. She laughed so loud and said I cant make fun of her shows anymore.
Like I KNOW its a drama and they need storylines but COME ON.
This show is SO SOAP OPERA and SO ridiculous. I know Eric Winter used to be on Days of Our Lives but did he have to bring the writers with him too?
Next thing you know someone is going to be kidnapped and locked up in a foreign country and.... errr, doh, nevermind.
Hi all, New to the sub and thought this may be the best place to ask.
I'm trying to find a police drama i watched a while ago on Netflix (It doesn't appear on my watch again list)
It was a single series but wasn't a detective based show. It wasn't a comedy and the main characters were standard police officers. I think they may have been a guy investigating overspending?
I can recall that two off the officers were having an affair, One of whom was sacked towards the end of the show. I can remember a scene where one of them is sat in the back of a police van sending txt messages.
Not a lot of info to go on but hoping someone can remember? All internet searches just point to line of duty which it definitely is not. Hopefully my brain may start working and i might remember an actor's face!
Any drama where both the main leads are police officers who work on solving a case together?

... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi, old time radio! I have a friend looking for a radio show her mom used to listen to in New Zealand in the mid-to-late 1960s (it may have been reruns of an older show). I tried r/tomt and someone suggested 21st Precinct as the name of the show, but her mom isn't 100% sure so other commenters suggested posting here.
Some details: Her mom remembers it was an American show (likely set in NYC or Chicago) and it was a private detective and/or possibly police drama. It was more dramatic than funny (the humour it had was dry humour), every episode began with footsteps, and the title may have been something like "49th Street" or "49th Precinct." It's not "Yours Truly," "Johnny Dollar," or "Richard Diamond, Private Detective."
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Anyone know what actually went down earlier today on the corner?
From the superb acting of John Thaw and Kevin Whatley to the amazing theme tune by Barrington Pheloung and the brilliant plots based on the novels by Colin Dexter, I don't think I've seen better.
Fun fact: the theme tune has Morse code running through it that spells out Morse's hated and never used first name.

Thank you to everyone contributing to this list!!!
The antagonist (who the viewer is familiar with) decides to evade police by taking to the sewers underneath the city. The slapping of shoes on the sewer floor while police were in pursuit and without chase-music was in my opinion, excellent. The movie itself is propelled by dialogue and also a deliberate lacking of dialogue. Very little musical score if any.
I would love to watch this again and find out who the director was.
Thanks all
It's heavily inspired by the show "The Wire" and is about a group of undercity police detectives assigned to investigate one of the many organized crime groups in the lower levels.
I want it to be dark, gritty and grounded, going in-depth into the characters' lives; flaws and struggles.
I think this show would look beautiful. Imagine the scenes of the Coruscanti undercity from the cancelled Underworld show and Clone Wars with modern technology.
I like to imagine a scene where a tired and depressed police detective is at a regular grocery store (something I don't think we've seen before) to buy a microwave dinner when they spot one of the criminals they are investigating and manage to memorize the license plate of their speeder before they fly away. If you've watched the Wire you'll know which scene that's referencing.
I've mentioned this concept in other posts but I think it deserves its own. Thoughts?

I grew up remembering that Hong Kong dramas hands down had the best police procedural dramas. Things I'm looking for are good plot + mysteries with a balance of personal lives mixed within the storytelling. I can't understand Cantonese and I grew up watching Viet dub but I'm sure I can find a copy somewhere. A bit hesitant to try newer TVB dramas but anything you think is good would be great!
Things I've seen:
- Forensic Heroes 1
- Forensic Heroes 2
- Forensic Heroes 3 (FAV)
- Tiger Cubs 1 (FAV)
- D.I.E (currently watching)
- Line Walker 1
- A Great Way to Care 1
IMBD: 8.5/10
