A list of puns related to "Playscript"
Hi, I am looking for a script to fit my drama club of 9 guys, 20 + gals :( . We'd ideally go for an original full-length pre-1900 classic, as we are pretty open in terms of periods (anything before 1900 will do).
Looking at authors such as Ben Jonson, John Webster, Christopher Marlowe, Samuel Beckett.. Strindberg.. Chekhov..
However, it seems we are hitting a rough patch with our large and mostly female cast. We've ruled out Shakespeare (Done way too many times), but ideally we'd go for any of his contemporaries.
silly question i suppose, but is it just ME or does anyone else get annoyed at the barrage of emails (yeah i know unsubscribe, etc) that are coming out now with Christmas shows?? Current circumstances aside, wouldn't a company already have chosen a seasonal show? geez....
That said: What are you all doing for December??
Second year of "All Is Calm" here....audiences raved about it last year....and most of our cast is coming back for an encore season!
I remember reading this for English class in 2000-2002, I believe it was Year 8 (UK). It was the text of a play, set in Britain in Victorian times or possibly early twentieth century. It was about a working-class boy (possibly called Tommy, possibly a cobbler's apprentice) who meets an upper-class girl (possibly called Celia or Cynthia or something like that). They meet when the boy repairs the girl's shoe when she falls down/stumbles. It's a sort of love story but also about class. I think it had a sad ending. IIRC it had an orange cover.
I recently finished a script for a play entitled 'In Memoriam.' I would like to get it professionally evaluated, but am not sure where to go/who would provide me the best quality evaluation. Does anyone here have recommendations?
I'm based in Melbourne, Australia, if that helps :)
Hi! I'm not sure if this is the correct subreddit to post about this, but recently while cleaning our house my mother found a playscript of West Side story.
Pictures: https://imgur.com/a/uk3aJ9k
It belonged to my great uncle who worked in Broadway for most of his life. I've tried looking up to see how much something like this would be worth, and have found two scripts similar to the West Side Story one ( https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=22631033014&cm_mmc=msn-_-nonisbn-_-PLA-_-v01 and https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?cm_sp=sort-_-SRP-_-Results&kn=playscripts&sortby=1 ) I have seen scripts from $4,000 to $25,000, so my question is, how much would this playscript be worth? It is definitely an original, and is written for the stage adaption- not the movie.
I'm looking into reading an abundance of dramatic literature this year, and I was wondering what everyone loved enough to recommend.
It started off with a girl walking home and happening upon a magic talking bean. It ends up taking her to an alien planet where she meets a boy who shows her around. Shes there to help save the planet or something.
While she's being shown around the boy educates her on the different type of aliens on the planet. Some were named kavorkians and they would sing to you all of the good things you did while you were alive. You could only hear them when you were about to die I think. The play pointed out that even bad people were visited by beautiful singing aliens b.c. even a murderer might have tried to make his mother laugh every morning.
Thats all I can really remember. Thank you in advanced for anyone who can help !!

Interesting move.
I remember reading this text over a few weeks in English lessons in year 7 at secondary school in the UK. It was about something else mainly I think, but one of the side-plots was about someone going in to visit someone in an asylum (possibly in Victorian Britain) who was discovered to be luring in birds with spiders in order to catch and eat them. I was obviously quite scarred by this as it is all I remember of the book. If anyone has any idea of the title (Or even a search term that might yield relevant results) that'd be great as it's been bugging me for years!
EDIT: Did a bit of searching for 'literature about asylums' and found this Goodreads list https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/6165.Fictional_Mental_Hospital_Novels and realised the book was none other than Dracula! The character I remembered was called Renfield and is visited by Dracula.

Okay, full disclosure ... I love Lee Young-ae more than any other Korean actress, and "A Jewel in the Palace" is the K-drama I love the most. I've watched most episodes of "A Jewel in the Palace" and "Saimdang" (Lee Young-ae's 2017 drama) five or six times already. Whenever I feel depressed about life, I rewatch Ep. 6 of "A Jewel in the Palace" (the episode when Jang Geum was >!exiled to the herb garden!<).
Why do I love Lee Young-ae so much? She's, of course, beautiful and talented. She's also intelligent β she graduated with a degree in German Language and Literature; she got her master's degree in Theater and Film; and before she got married in 2009, she was pursuing her PhD. She's also a well-known philanthropist:
[In 2017, she donated around 92 thousand US dollars to the Yonsei University Health System for the treatment of child cancer patients and for the underprivileged.](https://www.hellokpop.com/news/lee-young-ae-100-million-won-yonsei-university
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!

Pilot on me!!
I'm especially interested in something similar to Qui Nguyen (adventure, action, sci-fi, geeky, and heartfelt). But also only about an hour in length. Small-Medium sized cast. Thanks in advance!
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
What did 0 say to 8 ?
" Nice Belt "
So What did 3 say to 8 ?
" Hey, you two stop making out "
When I got home, they were still there.
I won't be doing that today!

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
There hasn't been a post all year!
