I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

They’re on standbi
I've been thinking about this comparison for a while, and I've noticed that there is a TON of style comparison between this year's team and the 2004 team. So why not take it further and compare the two teams? Let's start with the most obvious starting point:
-MARKSTROM = KIPPER
Now it's a bit of a stretch to put them on the same level yet, but Markstrom so far this year has had an impact not seen since Miikka. Both guys are Northern European. Both are likely going to be the starting guy for their country. But both teams are built to give their excellent goalie the best chance at winning games for their team
-CZECH BACKUPS
They are at different points in their career, but Turek and Vladar are both Czechs that the Flames could rely on if needed.
Moving on to the D, this is another area I feel is built pretty similar. Like the 2004 Flames, the 2022 Flames are a unit built around one amazing defensive defenseman and a lot of guys who are good enough to play Sutter hockey.
-TANEV = REGEHR
This one strikes me as super obvious as well. They play a bit different styles, and imo Regehr was a better player, but they both are guys who have been massively underrated because they don't score all that much. And of course that brings me to...
-TANEV-KYLINGTON = REGEHR-LEOPOLD
Anchoring the team, you pair your best defensive guy with a smooth skater on the backend who's good at moving the puck
-ZADOROV = GAUTHIER
This one feels too obvious as well. Hard hitting dman with a tendency to have some lapses
-GUDBRANSON (sort of) = WARRENER
I'd say Gudbranson is a bit of a poor man's Warrener. Both physical and hard-working on the back end.
-REST OF THE D
2004 featured Toni Lydman, Andrew Ference, and then in the 7/8 spots, you had Commodore and Montador. While the 2004 guys I've compared so far are better than the 2022 guys, what 2022 does have is Hanafin-Andersson, which is a better pairing than any of the 2/3 pairings you could have in 2004. A young Valimaki waiting in the wings feels similar to Commodore/Montador who were both young guys then. Like that team we also have a reliable 8th guy (Stone) if we were to have injuries.
I think forwards are a bit less similar to the D and G aspects of the 2004 team, but here goes
-FIRST LINE DRIVEN OFFENSE
