Okinotorishima Puns

Japan requests that the International Maritime Organization recognize the Okinotorishima Island and its EEZ as part of Japan. The EEZ zone claimed does not overlap with any existing or future claims. Various diplomacy has resulted in all opposing countries dropping their objections.

##Developing Okinotori-shima and Protecting Japan's EEZ

For years now, South Korea, China, and Taiwan have disputed the status of Okinotorishima and Japan's claimed EEZ around the islet, stating that Okinotorishima is in fact not an islet, as it cannot support human life.

With oil, minerals, and potentially rich fishing areas contained in the EEZ surrounding Okinotorishima, it is of utmost importance that Japan solidifies it's claim that Okinotorishima is an islet, and immediately begins exploiting the natural resources in the EEZ surrounding the islet, in addition to warding off other companies/countries that wish to exploit these resources.

Starting immediately, Japan will make an offer to JAPEX, JXTG Nippon Oil and Energy, JXTG Nippon Mining and Minerals, JOGMEC, and the Obayashi Corporation.

JAPEX and JXTG Nippon Oil and Energy will both be given contracts to begin exploring the seabed in the nearly 400,000 square kilometer EEZ surrounding the islet. On the other hand, for the deep sea mining operations, JOGMEC will take the lead, considering their recent efforts in deep sea mining, while JXTG Nippon Mining and Minerals will send observers to try and learn from JOGMEC's techniques. The idea is that, within five years, JXTG will also be able to undertake deep sea mining operations. The Obayashi Corporation, one of Japan's biggest construction companies, will be offered a contract to begin a large-scale construction project at Okinotorishima. The first step will be to expand each of the islets into circles with 100 m^2 each of space, by building concrete extensions to the existing structure. Then, they will be charged with creating a large, durable, structure that spans the entirety of the islets and the atoll, with the end goal being a usable platform with about 5.63 km^2 of usable space - for living and for military use - with a small dock.

It is important to defend these efforts from people who would rather see it fail. Therefore, the JMSDF will begin a long term patrol mission in the area. Every day, two Abukuma-class destroyer escorts and 3 Hayabusa-class patrol boats will go on a patrol of the region, ensuring that nobody can attempt to destroy the projects, and spotting out any foreign efforts to impede on Japan's EEZ. I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
