A list of puns related to "Monty Python's Flying Circus"
I mean in 1969 and later. Was it a hit? Did people talk about it in schools and work? Or was it more like start trek, rediscovered on later dates?
Was it really that big a novelty as is considered today compared to other programs?
How about their later movies? Did you go to cinema to watch them? What was it like?
Also their takes on religions. What was reaction of people around you on this part? Was it really that big of an issue as it seems, or was it just exploited for movies PR (mostly Life of Brian I guess).
Did you use some of their jokes in everyday life with everyone knowing what you are referring to, like people these days do?
Two men show up at a UK cottage/apartment, door is answered (likely by Terry Jones in drag), they introduce themselves as inspectors or repairmen, not sure which, there to inspect or repair something. Brazil-esque dark comedy ensues as the two men discuss at great length, ultimately inconclusively, which form they must use to complete the work. Skit concludes as we see snaking behind them a long line of workmen waiting to have similar conversations with beleaguered housewife.
What's the name of this skit??? Or link to script etc. TY!

good luck you vacuous, toffee-nosed malodorous perverts
I know about Douglas Adams being heavily involved with the Legends(Pythons). Has anyone heard anything regarding any Pratchett -Pythons encounter?
Lobster thermidor aux crevetts with a mornay sauce, garnished with truffle pate, brandy and a fried egg on top and SPAM.
For a show in the 70s, this show is still hilarious. The Surrealism is just great and the meta details in sketches are great.
The amount of history, classical music, politics, psychology etc. Quirks in their sketches show how smart all the Pythons were. The one who wasn't seen on screen, Terry Gilliam, is a very accomplished director (12 monkeys, fear and loathing in las vegas).
I still crack at the Deadliest Joke, Greatest Composer (Gambolpuddy), the Casket Bearers, Spanish Inquisition sketches.
I found S2 a bit off but S3 picks the pace up really well.
Can I mention that Graham Chapman, who was openly gay, was such an hilarious guy; still made jokes about Gays in the 70s (mr. Biggles) and didn't oppose things for times where homosexuality might still be a taboo on TV. And the eloquence with which everyone performs is awe inspiring.
Not to mention these guys gave the most feel good song of all times always look on the bright side of life
Is it just me or were the women in Monty Python's Flying Circus models? They were all really attractive.
