Iβm in Indiana, as I imagine different jurisdictions have different standards.
But when the Miranda warning advises a suspect that they have a right to an attorney, and one will be appointed if they canβt afford them, how is affordability determined, typically?
This is the case where the Supreme Court ruled that it goes against the 5th amendment of the constitution to self incriminate. Creating the Miranda Rights. Iβve heard references to the case in some podcasts but I havenβt found any that have covered the case, which seems weird considering how revolutionary it was for US courts proceedings it.
Maybe I just suck at google, but would you call Miranda and Arizona the parties?
Background: I run an office trivia game and have this question I want to ask:
