A list of puns related to "Earl Warren"
Let's say Thomas Dewey won in 1948, gets himself two terms, and his vice-president, Earl Warren, wins the election in 1956. Democratic nominee John F. Kennedy would challenge incumbent president Earl Warren in 1960. Who would win?
What if Earl Warren was never Chief Justice of the United States? How would the Civil Rights question play out in the late 50s and 60s?
Does anyone know whatβs going on with this scholly I know they now said the selection process will complete in August. Have the people still in the running been asked to interview?
Has anyone heard back yet?
I applied this year. Did anyone else? Are there interviews for this?
Fred M. Vinson
Served- June 21, 1946 - Sep 8, 1953
Nominated by- Harry S Truman
Notable Case- Sweatt v. Painter
Brief description
When Fred Moore Vinson became Chief Justice, the court was divided between the judicial restraint faction led by Felix Frankfurter and the judicial activism faction led by Hugo Black. Frankfurter's way often won out a majority, and Vinson wrote several intense dissents in some of the cases when he found himself in the minority. The Vinson Court laid the groundwork for the historic Brown v. Board of Education case first by challenging the "separate but equal" doctrine in Sweatt v. Painter and by ordering a second hearing of the case Briggs v. Elliott. Vinson died before the rehearing, and when Earl Warren became Chief Justice, Briggs had combined with four other cases to form Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka.
Earl Warren
Served- Oct 5, 1953 - June 23, 1969
Nominated by- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Notable Case- Brown v. Board of Education
Brief description
Earl Warren's impact on the American judicial system and on America itself cannot be overstated. His tenure was full of historicaly significant decisions that brought about change in civil rights (Brown v Board, Loving Virginia), criminal procedures (Miranda v. Arizona, Mapp v. Ohio), privacy rights (Griswold v Connecticut free speech (Tnker v Des Moines, Brandenburg v Ohio), and so much more. With the help of justice William J. Brennan, who had the legal skills the former Gavemor of California did not, Warren was able to routinely win over the other justices and make what he thought to be the fairest decisions. Warren believed that all Americans had natural rights oven to them by the Constitution, and believed tht the Court needed to protect every one of those rights. Warren gained much critisism for his decisions during his torture, especially by Southerners who still supported segregation. Aside from being Chief Juntice, Warren also led the Warren Commission on the assassination of President Kennedy, where Warren declared that Lee Harvey Oswald did indeed work alone. Warren's legacy stands firm to this day and is no doubt one of the most influential Chief Justices in the history of this nation.
Warren Burger
Served- June 23, 1969 - Sep 26, 1986
Nominated by- Richard Nixon
Notable Case- Roe v. Wade
Brief description
Warren Earl Burger had been critical of the tenure of Chief Justice Earl Warren, and his own tenure was very different ideologically compared to
... keep reading on reddit β‘Earl Warren was the Supreme Court Chief Justice who basically did a lot of incredible things during his court. From Brown v Board of education to Miranda rights. However he ran for president and actually ran for President himself. So what if he ran either in 1948 or in 1952 ran and successfully became president? Who would become the Chief Justice instead of Warren?

Hello everyone!
Today I woke up really happy and excited to check out the new market at Warren college. I solemnly walked there, with a grin on my face and a prideful attitude stemming from my previous days of enjoying the ice cream scoops at Earls the year prior. I was ready to experience this once again, and to be comforted by the ice cream as it soothed away all my problems.
However... I was horrified to find out that Earls Market (warren market) does not have any ice cream scoops, or even ice cream at all! My disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined!
I want us as a community to take action and email HDH/Warren administration asking if Earls/Warren market can have ice cream scoops (like Johns at Muir does) once again! This is something I believe that we can accomplish together! Thank you comrades.
Edit: An HDH rep let me know earls will have ice cream!
