A list of puns related to "Marissa"
Not much information on how they solved this beyond "a new investigation using modern forensic science techniques was able to pinpoint a suspect" which sounds to me like more advanced DNA testing than they would have had in the 80s.
Some excerpts from the article:
>San Francisco police announced Sunday they made an arrest in the baffling and tragic murder of a 15-year-old girl who came to the city to see her newfound biological sister in 1978.

>βFor more than four decades, Marissa Harveyβs family members have been relentless advocates to bring her killer to justice, and we hope this development in the case begins to bring a measure of healing and closure theyβve been too long denied,β San Francisco Police Chief Bill Scott said in a statement.
Does anyone know the backstory between these two? I have read some comments saying they used to be friends. Were they ever friends? Did they know each other prior to Dylan?
(I'm not identifying her as "J****n's ex" because she's more than that.)
I'm a paramedic in the US in Tennessee. To become a paramedic here, you have to attend EMT then paramedic school. When I attended, the only prerequisite was A&P 1 & 2. EMT and Paramedic (think: difference between LPN vs RN) are both certificates, not degrees. Paramedic CAN be a degree; my SO had an associates but it's not worth it.
In Australia, it's 4 (four) years and you have a bachelor's degree. Four years! (I spent maybe 2-2.5 years to get my certificate.) It's difficult to do and I've heard the clinical portion is rough as well. Paramedics are considered very knowledgeable and and respected.
I'm an RN now but still, I only have an associates degree. The last paramedic 911 job I held, I was making <$16/hr.
I just wanted to really point out how much of a badass woman Marissa is and how much respect she deserves.
I love Ryan and Marissa, I really do. But they piss me off so much. A new person shows up for like a minute and they basically ditch their significant other for them spending beyond inappropriate amounts of time with the opposite sex.
From Oliver to Teresa to Johnny to Sadieβ¦..at least twice a season when theyβre actually together these people show up and they basically forget they are in a relationship. Ditching the other constantly for this random person. Once, ok. But was it necessary to have this same storyline over and over? Ok rant over.
Everyone always complains about her character, but then agrees that season 4 was terrible because she wasnβt in it. TIRED OF IT I LOVE HER LMAOO Her and Ryan were toxic I know, but I saw it in more of a Chuck and Blair type of way. They were toxic for each other but loved no one else the way they did each other.

Doesnβt Marissa graduate this May? If so, just imagine the shit show that Chrissy is going to put on for that. You have to have a ticket to go so she will scam that out of someone. And then act like a fool with Marissa and Skylar in the same room. Iβm sure that Marissa will have to not attend her graduation so that Chrissy wonβt be able to embarrass her more than she already does. Itβs a damn shame. Can you just imagine what ridiculous outfit she will wear??
Iβve finished Meyerβs Lunar Chronicles, Gilded, and Heartless. Are there any similar fairytale retelling books? Iβve also read Stepsister and a handful of the Twisted Tales series (did not enjoy as much). Any suggestions?
Marissa isn't like a favorite character of mine, I'm more on the Seth/Sandy i.e. Cohens + Ryan side, but I do think she has a number of great qualities.
First of all, she is very beautiful and yet so kind and humble. I mean, she could be a complete b*tch, but she never acts or feels like she's better than anyone else.
As both a friend and a girlfriend, she is often very supportive, encouraging, and sweet.
When she found out about Theressa and the pregnancy, she was still cool with Theressa and supportive of Ryan, even though she had to let him go. Even at some of her lowest points, she went out of her way to talk to Sadie and basically help Ryan.
She's also always cool with Summer, Seth, Kaitlin, Lindsey, etc. In fact, she's nice to a fault. Hence, Johnny, Oliver, Volchok, etc. And that redhead girl (Volchok's friend), even though she was mean to her, she helped her from being raped. Of course, anyone should do that regardless, but just saying.
Now, the problem with Marissa is when things don't go as planned, she does a complete 360 and flips the f*ck out, lol. And does something overly dramatic. Plus, yeah, she repeated a few of the same mistakes.
But, what I'm saying is, she does have a lot of great qualities and she ain't that bad.
I've just watched the penultimate episode and I understand that Hanna was trying to keep Naziri and his little daughter alive, but at the same time it just made me a bit mad how easily Hanna gave Marissa- the closest thing to a mom she has, that has done so much for her to be alive and a chance at a normal life- to her father.
It might be cause I sense no chemistry between her and Naziri, but there hasn't been enough development of their relationship for her to be sacrificing so much for him π
I was just curious what are the reasons we were initially drawn to her account, or why do you still follow her? Just out of curiosity, not trying to be condescending at all.
For me, its Lilah! I have a baby girl a few weeks older & they kinda look alike. I really love the way Marissa talks to Lilah, its so sweet. (Especially since shes so rude to her followers & even James⦠I hope she always speaks kindly to her daughter!)
If you dont like anything about her just skip this thread π

What did I miss?
I hate when people say βit made sense she would dieβ or βthere was nothing left for her characterβ THAT IS NOT TRUE!! Teenagers everywhere suffer what she went thru (substance abuse, physical abuse, etc) and a lot of people do get through it, or learn to cope. I hate the notion that it would have been impossible for Marissa to have some character development and find her way.
So I just realised after watching this ep, why didn't Ted asked Marissa heller out? Or her Phone number. I mean they both have clearly something in common, and interests in the same type of stuff.
End of season one, Caleb tells Marissa she will have to move into the new house with him and Julie and if she doesnβt go something will happen to Jimmy? Can anyone remember what it was?
This isn't a Marissa hate post I love Marissa because she had a big heart, always helped the less fortunate and was gutted when you know what happened in s3.
