New for the collection - Julian II AR Siliqua, Lugdunum mint, Vota issue. These early beardless issues of Julian as Augustus were minted at Western mints to finance his short and bloodless usurpation against his cousin, Constantius II, who died of illness while preparations were underway.

The BAS (Blue Armada Ship) Iberia with sister ship BAS Lugdunum

https://preview.redd.it/2n29fieee5m31.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=e1f6f0a0110bdcb993a95d604cd37e37fdcc90e6

An old vessel of the Blue Armada, the Draconarius-class Ship-of-the-Line, in this case the BAS Iberia is the flagship of the numerous fleets of the Blue Armada. Until the Age of Steam arrives, nothing can dare stand against the might of these colossal beasts.

I've built this ship for a Custom Campaign called 'Imperium: Age of Sail'by Carolus Magnus. The Draconarius-class is named after the Roman cavalry-mounted standard bearer while the ships of this class are named after regions formerly owned by the Roman Empire.

98 meters in length, it's armed with numerous large Simple Cannons, 24 Heavy CRAM cannons, 48 APS cannons for broadsides. Its ultimate weapons however are the 1800mm superheavy Prow Cannon along with its ram.

The 'masts' are actually steam pipes fitted with picture frames to emulate the sails since I don't know how to make proper sails.

The Jedi at Geonosis VS The Roman Legions at The Battle of Lugdunum

So let's say that the Jedi all show up to save Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Padme from the Geonoshan gladiator match like in 'Attack of the Clones', but then, instead of being surrounded by battle droids, the Jedi are surrounded by Roman Legions!

No clone reinforcements will arrive, but all Jedi who were present at the battle are still there. (Yoda)

Can The Roman Legions overwhelm the Jedi on Geonosis?

The cities of Lugdunum and Vienna switch their allegiances to keep fighting each other!

>From AD 67 to AD 69, Vienna and the neighbouring city of Lugdunum, today’s Lyon, were in a state of β€˜perpetual feud’. Rivalry between the two went back as far [as] the first century BC, when Vienna had expelled Roman colonists, who had subsequently been taken in by Lugdunum. When Gallic governor Vindex rose in revolt against Nero in AD 67, Lugdunum immediately threw its support behind Vindex, while Vienna retained its loyalty to Nero. During this period, Vienna had even sent armed men to raid Lugdunum.

>To keep the peace following the Vindex Revolt, Nero’s Palatium stationed the new 1st Italica Legion in Lugdunum, supporting the 18th Cohort of Rome’s City Guard, which was there to guard Lugdunum’s imperial mint.

>In an ironic twist, Lugdunum had then switched its support to Nero, and Vienna to Galba.

>According to Tacitus, the people of Lugdunum now β€˜began to work on the passions of individual soldiers, and to goad them into destroying Vienna’.

At the battle of Lugdunum Septimus Severus’s wing was pushed back and he was nearly killed. In this timeline the British Legions under Albinus smash through and in the Chaos Severus is cut down.

Clodius Albinus was known for Republican sympathies, not enough to not accept an offer of being Septimus’s heir in 193 but enough to not declare himself Augustus when he raised his flag of revolt against Julianus. A man known for honesty and straight dealing, he was a youngish respected leader and could have been a significantly better emperor than Severus.

For the sake of this scenario let’s imagine Clodius has some big ideas for succession. He decides that succession in the imperial system should be decided by the legions. He forms a council of Senior military officers drawn from the most experienced generals who would nominate possible Caesars. Then the entire military would vote on the choice and the winner would become the new heir.

Clodius would reign for 40 years, well into old age as long enough cement the new system into place. His military elected heir Insert preferred name here assumed full imperial power 30 years into his reign and upon the death of Clodius in 237 a new council was called and the military chose yet another Caesar.

With this scenario in mind, paint for us a possible future for the Western world.
