Luciferin, a very nice alternative to Prismatik and Ambibox.

Hi guys, I developed a very nice alternative to Prismatik and Ambilight.

It's free and open source.

https://youtu.be/Hd6BtPp40I0

It works on multi monitor setup and with HDR contents. It has wireless support and it works awesome with MQTT and Home Assistant.

Firefly Luciferin is a Java Fast Screen Capture PC software designed for the Glow Worm Luciferin firmware, the combination of these software create the perfect Bias Lighting and Ambient Light system for PC. Written in Java with a native flavour for Windows and Linux.

Using a glass bottle on a glowsquid gives you a bottle o' luciferin, what is a crafting material for glowing chiseled blocks

Many suggestions have been posted that glowsquid should drop glowing dyes and glowing inks.

However, glowsquid is probably rarer than regular squid, so drop items are also quite rare.

Also, killing a cute glowsquid is heartbreaking.

If you can get items from glowsquid using a glass bottle, you can get many items from glowsquid without killing glowsquid.

I suggest bottle o' luciferin that can be obtained by using a glass bottle on a glowsquid.

I propose the following 6 blocks as light sources that can be made from bottle o' luciferin.

- Glowing Chiseled Stone Bricks

- Glowing Chiseled Polished Blackstone

- Glowing Chiseled Sandstone

- Glowing Chiseled Red Sandstone

- Glowing Chiseled Quartz Block

- Glowing Chiseled Nether Bricks

All of them can be crafted from one corresponding chiseled block and one bottle o' luciferin.

The designs are such that the pattern part glows blue.

These blocks would be nice as decoration.

When/why would I want to use Luciferin Free Acid?

So many papers use D-luciferin potassium salt. But I'll come across a paper sometimes that uses the free acid version. What I can't figure out is why some of the researchers chose to use this version rather than the common potassium salt.

If anyone has some insight, or maybe a link to a paper that explains it, that would really be helpful.

Glow Squids drop Luciferin, making them USEFUL

I normally don't watch live videos, but judging from people I know screaming about the glow squid, I assume it won the mob vote. So, I have an idea that would make them EXTREMELY useful.

Luciferin is a chemical responsible for bioluminescence, glow squids dropping that makes sense. You can place Luciferin on any block, and it makes that block while NOT emitting light, its texture will always look like it's at light level 15. Similar to the glow squid not lighting up area around it, but looking bright due to shadows not working on it.

What is this good for? Making things look bright but still keeping the surrounding area dark, perfect for builds.
