40yo male presenting with history of recurring lower respiratory tract infections
Is the Larynx part of the upper respiratory tract or the lower respiratory tract?
I am learning about the respiratory system in my health classes, but I bumped into some contradicting information. In my medical terminology course, the textbook says that the larynx is part of the lower respiratory tract. My Anatomy and Physiology course textbook says the larynx is part of the upper respiratory tract.
I also look up many online sources, and it is the same situation. Some sources say it is part of the upper tract and others say it is part of the lower.
Does anyone know the answer to this?
