Hey TS team! Suggestion for next year's wool "shacket" (Explorer, Maritime, Leeward, etc) models:
HAND WARMER POCKETS. I have a Rogue Territory wool piece that fits and functions very similarly to a Maritime. I cannot emphasize how much of a game-changer the hand warmer pockets are. It takes the garment from "Oh, just a second, let me grab my shacket and gloves" to "my go to coat for literally everything". Iron Heart is starting to do CPOs with hand warmer pockets too.
I realize those two brands are not what TS does and are priced at sometimes 2-4x the price. But I would seriously pay $100 more if there were pockets included on Maritimes.
I'm planning a trip for October 3-15 2022. I would stay a few days in Lahaina and a few days in Kihei. I am looking to have some beach days and some hiking days, would the weather be good for this kind of vacation. Also I know it's far way, but how do you all feel about tourist these days? Would you rather we just stay home?
So two boats approach the leeward mark. The inside boat has βroomβ established.
Inside boat wants to make a big loopy turn so that they can exit tight to the mark going upwind. This is suboptimal for the outside boat because they have to make a huge turn ending up clear astern of the boat on the inside.
So, what is a βseamanlike roundingβ as referred to in rule 18?
Does the outside need to leave room for inside to make their ideal rounding? Or just enough room to make a turn upwind?
As in the title, looking for input on the best diving group to get open water certified on the leeward side of the island - Mahalo!
I have had friends attend both HCC and KCC. They both ended up working in their respective programs of study. The person who went to HCC is working as an auto mechanic, after previously working in heavy machinery at Pearl Harbor shipyard. My other friend is working at the Ilikai Hotel, at front desk.
I was wondering if the other two community colleges on Oahu are specifically known for a particular program or career field. Besides just preparing you to transfer to UH MΔnoa, or another four year college. For those who attended either Leeward or Windward, how was your experience and did you feel prepared for whatever transition you made later on in life?
Do you prefer sunset watching from the west coast, north shore, or south shore? I'll be in Oahu for 9 days and have a car for 5 of those. Staying in Honolulu. Planning a full day trip to North shore and a half day trip to Leeward (was original going to hike out on Kaena point but I can't make it out there early so I scraped that). I've scheduled dinner reservations in Honolulu every day to be precautionary, but I'm thinking for the days I'm on North or West shores it would be better to just get picnic dinner and watch sunsets from the beach?
Is "Sunset beach" on the North shore overrated? and Would Ko Olina lagoons be good for Leeward? I don't really want to crowd up a more local beach so im fine sticking to the tourist spots. And for the days in the city, are there any beaches or viewpoints that anyone would care to share? I probably won't make it out to many since so many of our dinner rezs are around 6 or 7 lol. TIA.
