A list of puns related to "Lading"
This seems to be a big deal with those in the supply chain industry. The time and money saved by being able to digitise the bill of lading / airway bill onto the blockchain would be immense.
I can't see anything in Google about this. I know that is what CargoX is doing as their USP.
Is this something that VeChain plan to incorporate? Is this something that could be done as a smart contract sitting as a Dapp?
Jeg skal kjΓΈpe ny telefon, og trenger litt hjelp fra dere. Jeg ΓΈnsker meg en billig telefon med stort batteri og mulighet for trΓ₯dlΓΈs lading. Har dere noen gode forslag?
I need to get data on import and export (Bill of Lading) of frozen poultry or beef products done by companies all over the world. I need it for academic purposes.
I am a regional OTR driver for a midwest carrier - a W2 employee, not a 1099 one. I get paid so much per load plus so much per mile. Normally, I scan and send in the Bill of Lading (BOL) after every load, but...
It recently happened that the paper BOL went missing (blew out the window, dog ate it, whatever)
Can my employer simply not pay me for that load?
I'm guessing that that would be illegal for them to do that. It'd be like not paying a factory worker for 8 hours because he forgot to put final label on box at the end of the day...
I don't grok the facts of this case. Why wouldn't the seller (Chabbra) have voluntarily retained bills of lading, if the buyers of the cargo couldnβt pay for the transaction upfront? Why wouldn't the seller retain the bills of lading until the buyers fully paid for the cargo? Why let the buyers of the cargo possess the bills of lading at all?
>## Chabbra Corp PTE Ltd v Owners of the Jag Shakti (The Jag Shakti) [1986] AC 337 (PC)
>FACTS: Chabbra Corp PTE Ltd (the seller) shipped a cargo of salt on board the Jag Shakti (a ship belonging to the defendants). The buyers of the cargo had pledged the bills of lading to Chabbra in order to finance the transaction. The buyers persuaded the defendants to release the goods to them, without presentation of the bills of lading, by providing them with an indemnity, and then refused to redeem the pledge when the bills of lading were tendered to them by Chabbra. Chabbra sued the ship owners for conversion.
>HELD: Chabbra was entitled in principle to recover the full market value of the goods at unloading from the carrier, though owing to a lack of evidence as to that value, it must be content with the sum it had advanced to the buyers.

I don't have it clear what is the Bill of Lading - B/L - "workflow" when multiple freight forwarders are involved.
Let's say that a freight is sent from Hong Kong to Paris. Freight forwarding contract is between the shipper and one carrier based in Hong Kong, however this carrier hires other freight forwarders hence the freight will change hands multiple times between Hong Kong and Paris.
Q#1: For the purpose of the B/L, are all the freight forwarders considered "carriers"? Or is only the one that signed the agreement with the shipper considered the "carrier"?
Q#2a: If all freight forwarders are "carriers", then do they all sign the B/L in the carrier section? Or does each of them issue a new B/L? (In the second case, I guess the previous freight forwarder becomes the "shipper" in the new B/L)
Q#2b: Or if only the first carrier (the one that actually has a contract with the shipper) signs the B/L, then the other freight forwarders between Hong Kong and Paris only carry but don't sign the B/L?
Q#3: since between Hong and Paris the freight will travel not just by sea, is a Multimodal Bill of Lading required?
β’ Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US: 500β¬
β’ Are you open to refurbs/used? No, unless it does not affect performances.
β’ How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Performance > battery life > form factor > build quality
β’ How important is weight and thinness to you? Important 8 out of 10, need to travel and needs to fit in my backpack.
β’ Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A. 15 inch / 38 cm.
β’ Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. No, just studying + Netflix etc.
β’ Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? A (near) silent keyboard that presses keys smoothly, and a laptop that can last for 5+ years.
β’ Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion. My old laptop wonβt turn on anymore, went to IT but they could not fix it. Going to college next year and need to travel daily with my laptop so it needs to fit in my backpack. Also I hate when a keyboard makes too much noise when typing. I would just like to thank you already for reading this and perhaps helping me!
Site is back up! : )
You can find the original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Entrepreneur/comments/go0bcg/free_tool_to_understand_which_suppliers_a_company/
ImportYeti is a free tool that allows you to search over 70,000,000 bill of ladings to answer questions for pretty much any company you can imagine like:
I created ImportYeti because these bill of ladings are public information and nearly every large eCom owner or FBA seller I know uses expensive alternatives to ImportYeti that are too cost prohibitive for the small guys starting out.
It would be my hope that people don't use this to "copy" competitor products. There are already enough product clones floating around the internet. Rather, I'd love to help people understand which factories to use versus just blasting out e-mails on Alibaba, trying to intelligently decide which factories to visit, walking into a trade show blind or relying solely on connections with your existing factories.
It is still in a super rough beta state. I've only invested a handful of hours and am interested in understanding if this tool is actually helpful and what direction I should take it in. I only want to create something if people really love it.
If you're interested in beta testing the tool, please comment below or send me a PM. Any and all feedback would mean the world to me.
