A list of puns related to "Kōji"
My partner and I have been marathoning found footage movies and have stumbled on possibly our new favorite director, Shiraishi. We have watched noroi, occult, and cult, the last two possible being my favorite found footage movies ever. However he made a series of videos titled “paranormal phenomenon” that we cannot find ANYWHERE. If someone knows where we could watch it that would be amazing. But also if there’s any Shiraishi or found footage films you absolutely love, please share that as well. Thank you!
Shirome is perhaps the only found footage horror musical to exist. Momoiro Clover (a real band with the members all playing themselves) is a minor J-idol band consisting of six girls all between aged 13 to 16. Kōji Shiraishi is their agent and he has entered them in a ghost-hunting TV show where they have to explore a supposedly haunted location.
At first it felt like nothing more than a bunch of early teens screaming and crying and bursting into a song occasionally. However, as I kept watching I began to see that it was rather smart. It is a disguised commentary on the nature of the idol industry. There were no parents in sight despite all the girls being minors, they were not asked before they were entered into the show, Shiraishi's character doesn't give a hoot as to how terrified they are or even that they might be in real danger and they have to sing and dance on cue. At the same time, it is also conveyed that the girls want the success just as badly as Shiraishi's character, if not more.
The haunted location and the urban legend behind it are well-done and the movie has a creepy atmosphere despite all the screaming and singing (which should have been a task to accomplish). It is far better than its low ratings suggest. Why are most Shiraishi movies rated so low anyway?

... keep reading on reddit ➡I know he has at least a few good fans on this sub. So, let's discuss his movies. How many of his movies have you seen? What are your favourite and least favourite of them.
My fav is Noroi: The Curse :) And for least I will go with the Teke Teke movies. They are not bad. They just feel like wasted potential. I think even his worst has something to offer.
Just watched this and it's really good! Don't think it quite tops Noroi as my favourite Shiraishi movie but it's certainly close 😊

Digimon Adventure Tri was a flawed series. Beloved (to me), but at times, flawed..but of all the good things it brought, it would be the heroic Herakle Kabuterimon scene and the Tri version of Butterfly.
Everything about this version is perfect. The instrumental is top notch and proficient (the bass in this song is INSANE) while being catchy and full of energy to compliment the classic vocal melody. Even if this wasn’t Butterly, this would still be an awesome instrumental on its own, if that makes sense. Kōji Wada was severely sick around this time, I believe, and it’s amazing he could even sing still. The vocal harmonies in this song are perfect as well. You can hear his voice start to break in some lines of the song, but that’s what makes this version so much more powerful. The fact that this version is one of his last works of music before death adds that much more intensity to it. It really sounds like he gave everything he had left in him to record this song.
Although Butterfly was used excessively throughout Tri, I loved the instrumental versions that were featured. The “sad” (I guess that’s what it’s referred to) electric piano instrumental version is great as well. Another one of my favorites is the piano version with Wada from the original series.
I always wondered how his singing voice changed drastically throughout the years. I figured it might have been related to his illness.
I wonder if we’ll have another Butterfly opening with Last Evolution. Unfortunately, the great Wada can’t make it this time.
Rest In Peace, Kōji Wada, you motherfucking legend.
Although we see Haruta talk mainly about girls and ended up getting a girlfriend, there was some moments that made me question if he only liked girls. Such as the dream he had where he viewed Ryuji as the hottest guy and also stating if he was a girl he would date Ryuji.
