TIL of Mikhail Kalinin, the head of state of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1946. His title was just nominal though, and he held little influence. So little that Kalinin was powerless to do anything when his wife, Ekaterina, was arrested, tortured and imprisoned for criticizing Joseph Stalin.

The Kalinin K-7 was a prototype heavy bomber developed and built in the Soviet Union in the early 1930s. This enormous 11-crew flying machine flew for the first time on August 11th 1933, but crashed soon after on November 21st of the same year when a tailboom collapsed mid-flight, destroying it.

Math 312 - Kalinin or Kowalski?
The Math 312H section I was in got canceled and now I have to choose a new section with either Boris Kalinin or James Kowalski. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on who to take it with. Kowalskiβs RMP reviews are much higher, but Kalinin seems to have more experience teaching higher level math courses. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Can we take a second to talk about how no one understands Kalinin's Proposal?
Like fuck, deciphering the Rosetta Stone would be easier.
I've read through it a hecka ton of times (about a dozen), talked to people irl and online, found videos on it... and the problem is, they're all different. People have their own perspective on it. Just a little.
On other SCPs, they are all the same. People get the idea of it. But with Planet of the Hands? I don't.
From what I can gather this guy gets it the most. That's at least the one I can understand and agree with it the best.
This is the best I can get.
There is a Planet of the Hands. They are people and live in an amazing society. They had us humans. They loved us and we were enslaved (or just in horrible conditions, not specific) under horrible conditions (but it was out of love or something?). We left, found a planet/got on a planet via magic or some shit.
They can't find us, but are working for it. They make our planet horrible over time. So bad a Foundation had to be created, as they started making monstrosities to terrorize the world. Everything would be fixed if we came back, but there would be a horrible future for humanity.
O5 (i forgor which one) uses precog to see the future, and sees humanity's way of stopping them from finding us stops working, and we survive on another world. Some are captured, some aren't. Other world is far worse (remember, while they could, they can't kill us. They love us).
Something about other planet's is mentioned, but it's very vague and I don't understand it. All I know is that we are from Planet of the Hands.

Vladimir Putin signed a decree awarding the Order of Courage to Konstantin Kalinin, who neutralized the shooter who attacked people at Perm University on September 20. His colleague Vladimir Makarov was awarded the medal "For excellence in maintaining public order" for evacuating people.
