I was in a Spanish speaking congregation in the second biggest city in Nevada when all of sudden we had about 4 or 5 Cuban families visit from Florida. They said they were here for business and of course they joined our congregation for the time being.
Anyway, they came off as super spiritual, always commenting, always going out in service and all that regular jw bs. But I remember a particular brother, must have been in his mid 50โs, he was very adamant about everyone investing in the Iraqi Dinar saying that it was going to be worth more than the dollar. A bunch of people from both Spanish congregations that shared the hall โinvestedโ several hundreds of dollars because this guy told them so and from him of course lol One brother even sold this guy his car for what I assume was several thousands of dinars. Eventually everyone realized the entire thing was bullshit and he just disappeared, never to be seen again. The elders said to forget about it so we wouldnโt discourage the unbaptized ones from continuing coming to the hall.
Did anyone else came across this people anywhere? Iโm sure they were running this scam everywhere they went.

My brother recently started a new job at the local pizza place and the owner has been talking up the dinar to him for a while. Apparently the owner has at least 10k in dinar and most likely more. My brother recently bought about $800 worth of dinar and wants to get more. My worries are that my brothers boss is hyping up the dinar and my brother is getting bad info from him and letting that cloud his judgement.

I can safely say that however he's getting the dinar is legit and he's not getting scammed that way. I've read a few articles that claim dinar investors are "just dumb trump supporters" buying into a scheme. Other articles are by "Dinarians" who've been waiting over a decade for something that's coming any day now.
According to the article people are confusing re-denomination with reevaluation and that if Iraq re-denominates then any investment will basically be worthless. I've read some claims from people and my brother has said that if they do re-denominate that they will still come out ahead. Is that possible? How does that work?
Is my brother wasting his money?
