As the title suggest, I'm looking for some good retreats in Iquitos, Peru. Looking for something that's in the middle range in terms of price. I want the authentic experience but don't want to slum it out assuming aya takes a toll on my body .
Hoping you guys have experience or recommendations. I've narrowed down the list so far to a few.

Im planning a solo trip to Peru this September mainly to visit the Amazon. I want to stay in Iquitos a couple of nights, then visit one of the many lodges to do a tour of the Amazon for up to a week.
There are so many great travel companies to choose from! I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for an experience that is a bit less catered to the tourist if that makes any sense. The expeditions that seem to encourage visiting indigenous communities or catching animals just so the patrons can take selfies are a bit off putting to me personally. I kind of want to bother other people or animals as less as possible. I’d love to travel up and down the river by boat, but preferably not in one of those mini cruise ships. I’m looking for an eco-friendly company that might attract like-minded visitors! I’m young and do not necessarily need upscale accommodations. My spanish is conversational, albeit rusty, and my budget is flexible. I’ve only just started doing research but I think Maniti Expeditions and Muyana Lodge are the closest I’ve found to what I’m looking for so far. I plan to book upon arrival, but it would be good to have some ideas before I leave!

I'm finally getting to a long overdue project of updating the spore pics on the site! Since the site launched, I've had very little variety info on the descriptions, and only had one spore pic as the placeholder for all varieties. I began uploading some of the pics taken of spores under the scope for each variety, and quickly realized the images were taken with an 18MP camera which could slow down the site a bit. I've only changed a handful for now to see if I'll need to dumb down the resolution if the site loads slow. More beautiful spore pics for each specific variety will be uploaded through the week!
If you'd like to be a contributor, please submit your very best spore pictures to millywycomushlove@gmail.com :) You will be credited and awarded with rewards points to spend in the rewards shop!
Thanks to a suuuper helpful and loyal mod of the community, variety descriptions will begin to appear for the list as well. You'll be able to see a little history behind where the variety started and any fun useful info as well. This is a very time consuming process, so please be patient! And remember...it's not so mush where it came from or how interesting the story is behind it, but what you can LEARN from it.
Also, we're just shy of 3,000 community members in the MW subreddit! I'll have a special giveaway when we hit 3k, so stay tuned!
