What would be an appropriate hypocorism/pet-name for Dolores in the 70s/80s?

So, yeah. I'm looking for a nickname for Dolores to get called in her Hogwarts years. The obvious would be 'Dolly', but that sounds far too American. Tried googling and found some possibilities, but I couldn't find anything to suggest what might actually be appropriate for the 70s/80s UK.

Somali Hypocorism?

Inspired by a /r/soccer thread. Certain cultures or languages have diminutive forms of a name. For example, in Russia, a person named Alexandr can be called Sasha. Or Mikhail can be called Misha. Do we have something similar in Somali?

[TIL] The tradition of having a nickname for Finnish men and women is called HYPOCORISM

All of my Finnish friends have a nickname. And its not always shorter than their original name. As Peter Sauli Piispanen describes in his thesis , Toivo becomes Topi, Erkki become Eki, Antero becomes Anttu, Ari becomes Arska,

I was already aware of this practice but its only today I learnt that there is actually a name for this and its HYPOCORISM and that some Swedish university did a detailed study on it. And that's its not randomly picked but is a result of some rules.

Is there a verb form of hypocorism?

Is there a word which means "the act of using a shortened or altared name", particularly one which does not imply friendliness? example: "Alice said to Bob Sipiri 'Listen here Sip: don't ever do that again.'" I've heard 'familiarize' used this way ("do not familiarize my name") but I haven't found an example online of it.

Hypocorism In AusE, 3rd year university. Help?

For sociolinguistics I need to collect data for and write an informal research report. As I'm Australian, I thought something to do with hypocorism in AusE would be interesting. Does anyone have any ideas about particular directions I could go with this? I was thinking differences in hypocorism between genders. Also, how would I go about eliciting this kind of information from study participants? Sorry about the convoluted post. Any help much appreciated!

DAD JOKES ARE NOT DIRTY.

Go post NSFW jokes somewhere else. If I can't tell my kids this joke, then it is not a DAD JOKE.

If you feel it's appropriate to share NSFW jokes with your kids, that's on you. But a real, true dad joke should work for anyone's kid.

Mods... If you exist... Please, stop this madness. Rule #6 should simply not allow NSFW or (wtf) NSFL tags. Also, remember that MINORS browse this subreddit too? Why put that in rule #6, then allow NSFW???

Please consider changing rule #6. I love this sub, but the recent influx of NSFW tagged posts that get all the upvotes, just seem wrong when there are good solid DAD jokes being overlooked because of them.

Thank you,

A Dad.
