A list of puns related to "Hove To"
Anyone know the best company or similar to use to dispose of a double mattress? Council collection is upwards of three weeks at the moment. Car isnβt big enough to take it to the tip. Clean and in good condition so not sure if charity take them? Thanks in advance for any advice!

I originally posted this as a link but that got removed as I broke a rule by editorialising (fair), and now the subreddit rules won't let me post the same link again. Here's the link.
In my view Brighton and Hove Labour councillors are giving in to populism and ignoring the climate crisis.
I get that they're only trying to do what's popular with residents, but the problem with that is that there's often a vocal minority that are against these sorts of measures, and a lot of the people who are likely to be in favour of the cycle lane may not even be aware of the consultation or have the time to respond.
Cycling is after all a cheaper mode of transport than driving - the people using them might be single parents, have two jobs to hold down, etc. I tend to feel like driving is like private health insurance - it has a high barrier to entry. Cycling is the only means of getting around for say 1-10 mile journeys for people who can't afford a car without relying on public transport, so it always strikes me as rather perverse when any left leaning party decides in favour of those who are more well off (the drivers) at the expense of those that have no choice. Of course I'm not saying ban all cars or anything, but there ought to be provision for safe cycling especially on main roads/routes.
Their claims that removing the cycle lane will reduce congestion flies in the face of decades of research in to induced demand.
Also not too fond of the line at the bottom claiming "the Greens dislike drivers and the Tories dislike cyclists. Labour, the only party capable of bringing the city together". I think claiming that other parties are keen to start a culture war while suggesting that Labour is above such tactics is somewhat hypocritical given that they risk doing the same by making such claims.
Disappointed to see this sort of behaviour from a party that I would assume is supposed to be above populism and for the rights of the poorest in society. I expected better.
u/Sir_Bantersaaurus suggested: " They seem to be advocating an alternative cycle path though? There might be a specific problem with this cycle path? ", and my reply to that was:
Why should people using bikes be downgraded to a less than direct route? Good urban design means giving pedestrians and cyclists the most direct (and safe route), if necessary at the expense
... keep reading on reddit β‘...and knows how loud it is? My flatmate is a bit noise sensitive, so shed like to know if there constantly something going on there
