A list of puns related to "Hohner"
https://youtu.be/mmeFUHODz1s
You get what you pay for and it seems some of these accordions instruments made by Hohner, compared to other similar accordions are priced a bit cheaper. But having a faulty instrument straight out of the box, simply because of poor quality control is not acceptable. I do not care if something was only $100. Granted this was a concertina, but the principle is the same.
I have heard Hohner was made in China, reading up on it since at least the 90's perhaps? So maybe vintage is better? But it does not help people promoting Hohner as great right now, even the low to mid tier ones.

Came upon this website with an alarmingly large list and still probably growing, of accordions made in China. To top it off, they have very European sounding (copy cat names with a misspelling) names to fool the buyers.
So my quest to find a decent accordion I can afford continues...
Edit: From one video I watched, it said Hohner comes with a 90 day warranty. (Not sure if the store you buy it from offers a better warranty or not.) That is only three months. Knowing how they are or have been described at least, it is hardly worth the trouble. They know it is going to break down in under a year, even under half a year. And these accordions are still not cheap. It is not like we are paying $100 and then having to replace them every year or two. Some are breaking down right out of the box.
A friend of mine gave me an old harmonica marked "M. Hohner" on both sides and a bunch of grand prix stuff on one side with the latest date being 1937. It has two sets of 20 hole one on top of the other on the same side. It's in C.
I think I found a tuning chart, but I'm not 100% sure I'm reading it right. I'm confused about what the arrows on the charts mean.
What kind of music is this harmonica best for?
Where can I find some tabs for it?
Is this a bit of an advanced harmonica for a beginner?
I know nothing about harmonicas (I don't even know if I'm holding it right side up), so I'm grateful for any help y'all can give me.
Thanks in advance.
I bought some harps and 9 of the 13 have arrived: 3 Manjis from Suzuki, three different models from Seydel (Blues Session, Session Steel, and Classic 1847), 2 Golden Melody, one Rocket Low. Here's a video of me playing around with them a bit out of the box, next step is to set them up for overblow etc. Super pumped for these!!!

I found this going through some of my grandpas old stuff. I donβt know anything about guitars and we are considering selling it but donβt know where to start. If anyone could help us we would appreciate it. More pictures can be provided if it would help!
Besides being made in china, is there any difference between these two accordions in terms of sound? They seem to sound the same in videos. Does anyone know the complete differences?
Thank you.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but drawing on 8 is near impossible sometimes. Almost like the reed is stuck or something. There are times when it works, but more often than not, it doesn't.
What am I doing wrong? TIA!
EDIT: Thanks for the tips! Apparently, I wasn't positioning my tongue correctly. Thanks!
Hello, I'm thinking of buying this of a seller but I'm not sure if it's real. Does anyone have any info about this type of accordion? It's apparently a Hohner Bravo II, 48 bass. I can't seem to find any pictures or anything of ones that look like this. What do you think? Any help would be appreciated. Link to pictures of the accordion https://imgur.com/a/zvfuA96
Thank you!
I'm not sure why I am having so much trouble but I have been unable to find a chart indicating the chords for all the bass buttons on the Hohner Student IV which is a 32 bass buttons
I'm new to the accordion but have played a lot of other instruments in the past. Just trying to understand the layout a bit before messing around!
Thank you in advance!
Love this ballad! Fits the harmonica well.
Hey Reddit! I was just wondering how good the Hohner blues harps are, because I havenβt seen too many people play them, and I wanted to see if any of you guys have had one, or even play one. Thanks!
I bought some Brasso and after ten minutes on a small spot, I don't notice much change in appearance except the silkscreened lettering is being removed (which is what wanted). Maybe I was expecting too much? I also want to remove residue leftover from the chrome trim pieces that fell off. From what I've read it could of been glued on with cellulose based glue so it's fused onto the black celluloid. Should I just strip the whole accordion(it's only a 12 bass) and sand it to a high grit, use T-cut then finish it off with the Brasso?
