So, I've kinda grown in my tastes to no longer enjoy and immediate HEA for Hinny. I like it better when they get together later in life, after each growing and learning while apart. I was nine when I read the books for the first time, and I loved Ginny the moment she appeared in Chamber of Secrets, partly because I related to the whole "struck dumb in crush's presence" thing.
I didn't start actually rooting For Harry and Ginny till Prisoner of Azkaban, when they caught each other's eye and wordlessly shared a joke over Percy and Penelope. This scene convinced me that Harry and Ginny were perfect for each other and would definitely end up together. (Now that I look back, I was probably over analyzing the scene, but hey, I was right in the end, wasn't I? ::winks::) Order of the Phoenix made me really happy because it had all those little subtle scenes which solidified my belief that Harry and Ginny were really compatible.
So when did you start shipping Harry and Ginny together? Was it a moment from the books, from the films or maybe a fanfiction story?

I just finished reading A Flower for the Soul by TheBlack'sResurgence (not a Hinny fic, fyi) and really enjoyed a Ravenclaw Harry. Unfortunately, it seems that there aren't many Ravenclaw Hinny fics. Does anyone else find it a bit ridiculous that Harry went through a whole possession phase with Voldemort and Rowling didn’t use that as an opportunity to characterize Ginny more and have them bond over what she went through with her own possession by Voldemort? Especially after the snake attack on her father, I feel like that would have been a good time to give her some more nuance than “fangirl becomes super hot and cool after dating some boys.” The trauma that 2nd year Ginny went through with not knowing what she did or who she had hurt and 5th year Harry knowing exactly what happened but not being able to control it… I just feel like there’s a lot of potential. Could someone write a prompt with this? Or offer some fanfics with this?
In my previous post, i was basically shittalking harry in the films, and i left one rather important detail, his love life. I didn't want to include it, since it kinda geared more towards ginny than harry, and it would've felt out of place. But enough is a enough. Hinny is probably my favorite canon ship of the series, they're perfect together i love them. But that's just when we're talking about the books tho.
I think the main problem is, the fact that ginny doesn't really change at all. She goes from this shy girl wouldn't go anywhere near harry, and she kinda stays like that. I also don't think the COS film did her justice. Yes, she doesn't show up, and that's the point. She's the least likely to be a suspect. I know this doesn't concern the relationship, but its supposed to be built upon two great characters, but it really got a rough start. She really just gives like a guilty glance and we already know she's the one who set the basilisk. It also makes no sense at all, since we get no clues at all. The book at least has a brain:

Hello! I hope someone can help me find it . I’ve read it twice and it was easy to find but now I seem to have lost it. It’s Romione with a good mix of Hinny alternating chapters. It’s a two-series, and the last I remember, it was still being updated at the start of 2021. To reverse the memory charm, Hermione does some of projection thing with the help of Professor Flitwick and other Order members. She’s terrifyingly smart and has a lot of “magical power” that is commented on by the Weasley family. Also, Hermione has magical relatives that she is able to find with the help of Ron’s aunt. She also fights pretty epically for elf rights. It’s also smutty. Ron and Hermione definitely have rough but not BDSM level sex. ( pretty sure they are OF AGE) Ron does become jealous once in a while and they ( Harry and Hermione and basically Ron ) live at Grimmauld Place. Ginny returns to school and often has horrible nightmares. She even comes back to see Harry on her weekends.
It’s angsty, it’s about trauma and the author had also published their own series on Amazon.
I have only read one ginny/harry fic and that was the changeling. I’m starting to get into the pairing after not liking it all these years, so i’m asking for the best and must read ginny/harry fics. I prefer long ones, but any are good.

And in-universe, both Harry and Ginny are both celebrities.
So if the internet existed in the wizarding world, there's a good chance it would have a forum just like this subreddit, which is funny to think about.
Both are after the war, one is a one-shot wherein the battle ends and Ginny is alone in a classroom after the war and is talking to Cho and Harry comes to talk to her and they kiss and go to grimmauld place
The second fic is of 11/12 chapters, it is also set after the war however the weasleys don't like Harry in this but he and Ginny decide to get married however a fire is set in the burrow and Ginny is injured but she recovers and all the weasleys live in grimmauld place for a while

Ron in Slytherin, Hermione in Hufflepuff and Harry still in Gryffindor but not so like him. A lot of original characters. Lily and James alive. Set in sixth year. R/Hr, H/G.

He is very stiff and professional at first but Ginny warms him up. I'm tired of fanfics in which Harry is super political (Heiress Greengrass, you must marry Lord Potter), in which Ron and Dumbledore are bashed (been a while I've been avoiding that trope) in order for Harry to go out with Hermione (blerk), in which Harry has a harem (never read those, never will, but they're always popping up). I want to give Hinny another go.
Which are the best fanfics that explore their relationship? It can follow canon, it can be AU; I love both. I'm open to post war fics, but not my pref. Please no dark or evil Harry. No childships (as in, no relationship before 4th-5th year); and let's not forget that Ginny's a year younger, too! Preferably no bonding over mutual trauma with a certain Dark Lord, but if well done, please recommend them. Hmmm, what else? Oh, I don't mind dark themes (I actually love them) nor do I mind angsty or traumatised Harry (after 4th year, duh).
