A list of puns related to "Hiatal Hernia"
Since aug 2021 I was diagnosed with hiatal hernia, esphogitis, gastritis by my endoscopy procedure . I was given nothing but ppi for the problem. Back then I did not experience heart palpitations.
Fast forward October 2021 I started having heart palpitations that would travel to my neck after eating a meal, stand up too fast, and lifting and bending. I heard magnesium help palpitations so I started supplementing and it do help when the palpitations are going. However itβs not a permanent treatment. I have palpitations I donβt care how βharmlessβ they seem they are horrible and effect my day to day life. Iβm willing to get whatever surgery necessary.
Hi, recently I'm experience heartburn problems and some pressure on my upper abdomen area, and have the difficulty breathing especially after eating. I just wanna know if does it have anything to do with yawning and sneezing? Because ever since I got those symptoms, I can't do these two (yawning and sneezing) anymore, especially sneezing.
One weird thing though, I can workout easily like doing jogging and jumping jacks and is able to breathe fine. But when I am at rest, that's where I can feel the difficulty in breathing. Thanks for the responses that may come, have a good day
First of all, thank you for your time and answers. 35-year-old man, last 3 months for personal reasons, i gained quite a lot of weight quickly from eating junk food. After a month confusing the symptoms with heart issues, I finally went to the stomach specialist, they did an endoscopy (luckily sedated) and they diagnosed me with a "small" hiatal hernia (I don't know the cms).
The doctor said that all the other organs were perfect and did not give it importance (as if it were a simple cold or something like that) affirming. However, the symptoms (the usual ones that you describe here) and thinking about medical treatment all my life scare me.
He has prescribed me a month and a half of Omeprazole and Cidine (a medicine that speeds up digestion) and told me that after that time I should go see him again. I have been on treatment for a week alone and the symptoms have reduced very slightly.
My questions are:
I was surprised that the doctor downplayed the issue, when it is something that changes your life forever!
I would not like to be tied to medicine for the rest of my life (I don't care about diet, I like healthy life) The symptoms are really hard to bear, although of course it is the beginning and one gets used to everything in life...
Many thanks for your help!
Has anyone here with CF had a hiatal hernia surgically repaired successfully? It sounds like you have to avoid food that cause gas which seems like that would be difficult considering we can have gas from a lot of foods that we need.
I have GERD / Acid Reflux. The gastroenterologist told me that it's due to poor closure of the lower esophageal sphincter caused by hiatal hernia (as far as I remember). It's been a few years since I got the "diagnosis".
It causes and caused me different symptoms: chest pain, bad breath, regurgitation, also destroyed the enamel of my teeth on the left side of my jaw. Destruction of teeth is probably the worst part about it. My pungent breath also made many enemies in college and work place.
I tried different conservative methods: elevated sleeping position of torso and head, no late eating, change of diet, PPIsβ¦! PPIs work to some extend, but I cannot take them long term due to side effects (headaches, depression, disturbed sleep). Lately nothing seems to help: Even while sitting at the desk the juice is coming up my throat and f*cks with my vocal cords and nasal cavities...
A year ago the reddit-user u/genericshitaccount called my attention to some medical doctors in Berlin (Germany) who supposedly perform a new surgical technique (hiatus hernia and esophageal sphincter) to "eliminate" that problem. "Apparently" success rates are much higher than with the "old technique" or whatever. Unfortunately I forgot the names of the physicians and the aforementioned user is no longer active...
Does anyone of you by any chance know about this?
Anyone with a hiatal hernia work in a job still that requires heavy lifting daily, I found sometimes my heavy seems to give symptoms . Can lifting boxes daily in retail with the heaviest being 50lbs worsen it and what tips do you use when lifting
To elaborate further on what I mean by βlight anxiety,β I have always got βbutterflyβ esque feelings of anxiety whenever Iβm headed to a social event, work, a job interview, or just anything really. It was never a problem, just something I would describe as βlight anxietyβ that would always fade away as soon as Iβm faced with whatever was making me feel that way.
Well now, ever since Iβve been cursed with my hiatal hernia and GERD, this βlight anxietyβ feeling that I get now effects my stomach, and makes me feel extremely ill and gives me the urge to vomit.
The worst part of it all, is that me knowing Iβm going to be nauseous from my anxiety makes me EVEN MORE anxious, because Iβm afraid that Iβm going to embarrass myself and throw up in a public setting, which then makes me even more nauseous, putting me in a real crappy catch 22 situation.
This is making everything really hard for me. I have been trying to get a new job and I can barely handle sitting through interviews because of this. At my current job, I had to finish my orientation another day because I had to leave early due to my nausea and the fear that I was going to throw up during it.
Omeprazole doesnβt help, tums donβt help, pepto doesnβt help, and Dramamine doesnβt help. Iβm not sure what else I can do at this point.. Does anyone else share a similar struggle and have any advice for me? I would really appreciate it!
Has anyone received a rating for GERD or a hiatal hernia? What is the rating and whatβs the process like? I have a small hiatal hernia diagnosed 2 years ago and have received acid reflux meds from the military since my deployment 5 years ago, so I assume thereβs a paper trail.
Hi guys Iβm 16M, 138 pounds, I had 2 endoscopyβs and the doctor wants to preform a hiatal hernia and nissin fundoplication surgery.
I just wanted to understand some stuff cause the doctor mostly spoke with my parents. In the two endoscopyβs they found a hiatal hernia, HIL IV, what does HILL IV mean?
They also found gej ulcers and βBarrettβs esophagus appearanceβ what does that mean?
And is the surgery dangerous for my age? Will I be in pain after surgery? And how long is the surgery?
Iβm doing my surgery in January and Iβm also doing 3 test now. 24hr ph manometry, esophageal manometry, billarium swallow.
Iβm pretty scared for the surgery.
Hi everyone, I am a 25 year old male, currently residing in Asia. Iβve first had symptoms during my stint in the army back in 2016 where I had to carry heavy weights around, back then I was obese. I distinctly remember feeling something tear under my ribs deep inside my stomach. Upon endoscopy, they discovered a hiatal hernia of 5cm in size. The below are my symptoms. Will go for pre surgery test next week.
-Cannot bend over or sit down on chairs without feeling some form of epigastric pain / discomfort, feels like something is strangled or being choked inside. Been eating standing up to avoid the pain. Sometimes sharp pain manifests when I bend over during sit up positions or just sitting down hunched over.
-Cannot take deep breaths, only shallow breaths especially when bending over or sitting down. Forcing deep breaths cause sharp pain in epigastric area (little bit towards the left). Can only take satisfying deep breaths standing up with arms over my head
-After eating, strong fainting sensation, lightheadedness, nausea, strong sensation to puke. Sometimes I force vomit with fingers in throat to relief the discomfort.
-Exercising that involves bracing of core muscles causes huge discomfort, pain, shallow breaths and feelings of fainting increases three-fold. This includes weightlifting all the way down to just body weight exercises like pushups and sit-ups. Twisting motions such as in boxing drills also causes discomforts mentioned above. (Could not effectively exercise at all)
-Bowel movements requires contraction of abdominal muscles, always feel discomfort and light headed and short of breath after bowel movements.
-Find myself swallowing saliva a lot to keep food down. During eating, feels like food is regurgitating back up into the throat.
-Cannot speak or talk especially after eating as speaking involves using the diaphragm, whenever diaphragm contracts I feel nauseous and epigastric discomfort.
-Burning and tingling sensation in chest under the breastbone. Happens intermittently but frequency of sensation has increased over the years since 2016 (first onset of symptoms in 2016). Symptom also happens reliably when drinking a lot of water on an empty stomach.
-Only positional relief is standing up or lying down. When lying down, turning towards my left helped me feel better than lying face up or towards the right.
Tried acid reflux diets, small meals, heel drop exercises, intermittent fasting, abdominal stretching, all had no eff
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hey everyone, do any of you suffer palpitations/heart flutters/PVCs from your hiatal hernia? I notice I get them from laying a certain way, certain movements, even turning my head a certain way or breathing in too deep. I, also, can get them when I suck my stomach in and out or if I use the bathroom I can get them from the muscles in my abdomen contracting. I, also, got them last night while sleeping. I eventually got up and used the restroom, and it seemed emptying my bowels relieved the pressure and they went away. Of course anxiety/adrenaline bursts can cause them too.
Maybe itβs from vagus nerve irritation or from the hernia sliding and causing them. Any thoughts?
Hi everyone, thought Iβd post about my journey with HH so far.
I am a 25 year old male, currently residing in Asia. Iβve first had symptoms during my stint in the army back in 2016 where I had to carry heavy weights around, back then I was obese. I distinctly remember feeling something tear under my ribs deep inside my stomach, ever since then I always had a nauseating feeling after I ate, I felt like I cannot take deep breaths and bracing was always uncomfortable. I had no heartburn then.
The first year, my symptoms were light headed and faint feeling together with having the sensation that I was going to burp but could not burp. Exercising made it worse, especially weightlifting (I was fairly muscular back then), eventually it became too obvious to ignore so I went to a specialist clinic where an endoscopy was done that discovered a 5cm large hiatal hernia. I was given the usual antacids and was told the option was surgery. I vehemently said no to surgery as I was reluctant to the idea of having my body opened up.
Progressively my symptoms became worse, as of writing this now, I have symptoms 247, the worse part is that I cannot sit down or bend over as I feel that my stomach is being strangled and I just cannot take deep breaths. The only position that I get comfort in is lying down. I have completely given up lifting and needless to say my quality of life has significantly decreased. My heartburn is also getting worse, all textbook symptoms. I recently went for another endoscope in 2021 and I am negative for barrets but the doctor said surgery is recommended since I am young.
Should I finally go head with the surgery? I am very very, to be honest because I have trouble being vulnerable to people in real life, very scared to go under the knife. I am afraid of the pain, the recovery, the fear of complications, the uncomfortable notion that there are stitches inside my body. Does anybody have any insight or can help me with my worries? I hope I am not coming across as ignorant.
Update 3rd Jan 2022:
Thank you for all your input. I have scheduled the 24hr manometry test and barium swallow next week and my specialist appointment will be on Feb 4th. Will update everyone on my progress.
I have not been diagnosed officially with a HH, but i do feel alot better when i dont eat too much or go for about 6 hours without food - thats when i feel the best. However, if i go longer without food ( more than about 6) then i feel like the area get alot sensitive and easy to stimulate (vagus nerve?) and create heart palpation ( benign diagnosed by cardiologist)
Have you experienced the same kind of symptoms? If so can you explain why this happens?
My job requires heavy lifting daily and becuase of the pandemic had to stay longer with this job than expected recently I have been feeling bloated and feel like a ball under my left rib and upper left lung , I did do some heavy lifting could this have caused the hernia to get bigger and it's pushed up into my chest area , visited the er a month and the chest x-ray was normal , can it suddenly happen or occurs over time. I'm working to shift and do less but right I'm in a fix with bills to pay. I was told is a sliding hiatal hernia
Sorry for the long post, I really need to vent. My stomach issues began in 2018 when I was going through lots of stress that resulted in some disordered eating patterns (starving, inducing vomiting, laxatives). I had heartburn and very painful stomach aches that often radiated to my lower back. Had endoscopy and got diagnosed with ulcers, reflux and duodenitis. I got prescribed meds and went on health leave. Just to mention, since I was 14 (now I'm 22) I've been taking antidepressants and went on 3 Accutane rounds which might have worsened the state of my stomach. The symptoms stopped and I was mostly ok, with occasional digestion issues. Now in summer 2021, I again went through a stressful time and had no outlet, so I started restricting food and inducing vomiting. This went on for about 2 months and my BMI dropped to 17. After this passed and I began to eat normally again, I started experiencing horrible heartburn and some stomach problems. Had endoscopy and it turned out to be hiatal hernia, reflux and duodenitis. I've been taking prescribed medication for the past 2 months but it's not helping. I really don't know what to do. I'm a university student and I'm under lots of stress, I often have to skip classes due to stomach issues. I have a constant heartburn, sour taste in my mouth, bloating and nausea. It makes it so hard to function, I often feel like crying because I feel so helpless. I'm loosing hope and don't know what to do.
My hiatal hernia was terrible. After every meal it would come up. After drinking water in 5 minutes it would come up and go into my lungs and I would start choking on it. The constant pressure against my diaphragm making constantly feel like I can't get a breath. The pressure against my heart causing serious palpitations that would lead me to go to the hospital with a resting heart rate of 140 bpm and being only 20. I genuinely thought I was going to die and was accepting death at 23. My esophagus muscles were inflamed, so when I went to swallow it would not swallow properly so I would constantly start choking, and would only eat soft things and would need water by me. Life was genuinely terrible I just wanted it to seriously end. Constantly fighting to catch a breath was demoralizing. My solutions might not help everyone but I thought I'd share to maybe help/give hope because I was really hopeless at the time.
I after several endoscopys and doctors, they all said my lining was inflamed, I also had a small hh and prescribed me protonics (which permanently stops your production of acid in you stomach and kidney issues). After taking them for a year it didn't work.
I talked to a doctor and he told me to go to an ENT/allergist. After getting my allergy test done I found out I was allergic to everything, wood grass, dust trees everything. And I was working at a landscaper. I quit and got a little better but still my hh was terrible.
I was also allergic to my cat, so I stopped letting her in my room, gave it a full clean, washed my sheets as I used to sleep with my cat. And de-cat haired my room. I got better, less frequent symptoms.
I decided to take daily allergy pills and that helped reduce inflammation and symptoms, that made my hh better.
I would notice my heart rate spike and it would be hard to breathe, so I would burp/drink water and it would immediately go back to normal, talk to my gastro doctor and said that the hh pressure can push against your heart valve and cause these symptoms. While knowing this it did not physically help but it would help me knowing what the issues is caused by and how to fix it.
And finally I didn't notice this only until I got better because when you're feeling sick it's hard to pin point what makes you feel bad when you're already thinking you're going to die, but when I eat bread my nose would get stuffy and my hh would flair. I concluded that I'm allergic to bread, so I cut bread out. Right now as things are my

Hello
I have been diagnosed with chronic Gastritis for 3 months now and I am not recovering from it.
To understand my situation I have to mention some points:
I want to know. First if any one have case similar to mine. What I should do?
Second, what diet I should take.
Third, how to know the cause of my gastritis, because I asked three doctors and had different opinions. one told me to stop all PPIs the other told me because of stress and the third one told me cannot know directly the cause but there are many combined. Please help!
Have anyone experienced worse symptoms of their hiatal hernia after consumption of histamine?
Does anyone else have problems with peanut butter get stuck around the hiatal hernia area and almost stay there and that you can feel it for almost hours
Hello! I've lurked on this sub for a while and I decided I might as well ask if what I'm experiencing is a hernia, and if possible, some relief advice would be appreciated!
17F, Obese, and both sides of family have HH. My symptoms started a few months ago with what I presumed to be IBS or GERD. Waking up at 4 am with awful bloating, mid-lower abdominal pain that took around 2 hours of just dealing with it for it to go away. Sometimes pepto helped, once doing the child's pose was instant relief, and for the most part laying crunched over like a prawn was relieving. More recently nothing has been relieving, and I have two rounds of two hour abdominal pain more often.
What started my hernia concern was around two weeks ago. I got food poisoning and only felt fine after I vomited and with an empty stomach. I've had food poisoning before and thankfully the actual symptoms of food poisoning were better, but it caused excruciating pain after I ate that was in the middle of my upper abdomen, front and back pain. 5 minutes after eating and the symptoms started and progressively got worse over the span of a few hours until I puked it up.
The real kicker is the second day when I got the pain after eating. I was hunched over on my ottoman bawling my eyes out because the pain was so extreme, and I started to feel a coldness in my abdomen, like blood circulation being cut off (or so I assumed at the moment) which led me to think I had a strangulated HH. I was about to go to the ER because of how extreme it felt to me, but as I was stretching out my back I heard a click and all of the pain was gone in an instant. All was well, I had one other round a week-ish ago because I over-ate, and I just got over another one as we speak.
I'm also not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I put a lot of emotional stress on myself and I couldn't cry for quite a while, but after I had a breakdown a few days ago my stomach issues have been so much more manageable, almost non-existent even.
I've also been adjusting my eating habits to not eat as much and it seems to help. I'm still working on eating less more frequently, but it's a learning curve. The reason I had my latest round was because I ate a lot of spaghetti, chocolate, and cheesecake ... thats on me.
I went to my doctor after my food poisoning bout and she scheduled an ultrasound for my liver and gallbladder, which were both fine. I haven't gotten anything done besides that due to money and because I don't really
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi all,
I'm a 27m, and I'm wondering if my symptoms are similar to those who have been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. Unfortunately, Google has not been very specific, and I am very worried about my symptoms. I'm sorry if this is too much information, but I am looking to see if anybody's experience is even remotely similar to mine.
My symptoms are as follows:
- Severe heartburn. Before starting PPIs, I would have heartburn after eating anything (sometimes even by drinking water). I never had heartburn in my life before this. Now that I am on PPIs, I still sometimes experience a little heartburn from foods that are not suppose to cause heartburn (i.e. bananas). My throat was also very sore and felt like there was a lump I couldn't get rid of, I assume this was from the reflux.
- Upper abdominal pain. This began as a burning sensation in my stomach, which turned into a dull pain/discomfort after I began PPIs. It usually occurs after my first meal in the morning and is the worst in the evening right before bed. I have noticed that I get pain sometimes when laughing, coughing, or sitting up, but it does not happen all the time. Also, when I sit for a while, I get discomfort that becomes much more noticeable and severe. I get relief by lying down when this happens. Lastly, I have noticed that I have pain in my lower ribcage. The pain makes the area very tender and sensitive to touch.
- Chest pain. This was my first symptom and started out with a feeling of pressure in the center of my chest - almost as though I had to burp but couldn't. Recently, this has come back and it now feels like there is a stick stabbing me in the center of the chest. The pain sometimes radiates to my back and neck. This doesn't occur frequently though.
- Loss of appetite. Since everything began, I have not had a feeling of hunger once. I am still able to eat normally, but I do not have an appetite.
- Weight loss. I have lost nearly 15-20 pounds in 3 months since everything started.
- Nausea. This hasn't been a common symptom, but I was nauseous for about a week straight before it finally subsided. I have not vomited.
I am scheduled to have an endoscopy next week, but I am extremely worried of what they will find. My gastroenterologist suggested that it could be a hiatal hernia, but she mentioned that they sometimes will not find anything on the endoscopy to pinpoint my symptoms.
Any responses are much appreciated.

2 years ago I was diagnosed with a 2.5cm Hiatal Hernia.
Almost 5 months ago, I was laying in bed scrolling through my phone when what I can only describe as something like feeling a spasm or gas/liquid right under my sternum occurred. My heart rate immediately jumped up. This lasted for about 10 seconds and then my heart rate went back to normal. Approx 5 min later, I call my wife and during my phone call it happens again. Same thing. Heart rate shot up for about 10 seconds and then went back to normal.
2 days later, the same thing happened again twice more. After the second time my wife called 911. With an IV in and en route to the ER, it happens again. They recorded my HR at 155bpm.
At the ER I was given a nuclear stress test (very scary), an EKG, an X-Ray, blood work, and a CT scan. All tests came back βnormal.β Doctor said it didnβt seem like I was having a heart attack based on my results. I was told I had sinus tachycardia episodes. HR going from normal to anywhere from 125-150bpm randomly for about 10 seconds and then coming back down to normal.
Since then, I wore a Holter Monitor and those results were normal as well. During those 2 weeks of wearing said monitor, I had a couple instances of palpitations but nothing like what I had experienced back in August.
It was recommended by my Primary that I not be put on Beta blockers as a couple of times while sleeping my HR dropped to the 40βs.
I just had a barium swallow study and am waiting to hear back the results. I also have a follow up endoscopy to see if my hiatal hernia has grown in size. Wondering if the fundoplication surgery will be in my future.
Anyway, I think about this daily and am just waiting for the next episode to occur. It has happened maybe 6 or 7 times since the initial onset, but I was calm about it this time around as I knew what was happening.
Since this all happened, my stomach constantly feels like itβs draining, making noises and digesting. The dr at the ER said this could be a result of the hiatal hernia agitating the Vagus nerve.
Could this be what has been causing these episodes?
Not knowing an exact answer has made me nervous in so many ways.
Sorry for the long post. :/
Hey everyone, thanks in advance for reading. Itβs been a week since Iβve had an appetite and looking to get an endoscopy here soon after two trips to the ER and CT scans coming back with no answers.

I get pain mostly right below my left rib cage and behind my ribs too, which gets worse if I twist my torso to the left. I get lots of βbubblingβ feelings under my ribs on the left side too. No fever, nausea, vomiting. I let out tiny little burps all day.
My question is: could really bad posture cause an HH? This all seemed to start around the time I worked from home last Friday, and I donβt have a good desk. So I spent a good couple of 4-5 hour sessions leaning forward substantially and to my left side, with my left thigh and knee pushing up into my abdomen. Iβm almost hoping that this is the culprit so it rules out anything more serious, as Iβm generally a healthy guy. I donβt have too much of a history of acid reflux- every once in a while Iβll eat something way too fast and itβll come back up, but that happens maybe 3 times a year.
Anyway- do you think that extreme compression from leaning forward onto my thigh could have caused this?

Hi guys, recently my doctor said to me that my symptoms look like a hiatal hernia and I would need to do an X-ray after my current circle of treatment ends. But my last endoscopy was about half a year ago. And what I had read is that endoscopy is one of the methods to diagnose it. But there was nothing about the hiatal hernia in the results. I don't know, maybe the X-ray or CT scan is the only option to diagnose it for sure? Do you have your GERD caused by the hiatal hernia or it's something else?
Every time I smoke I get bad acid reflux and stomach/throat discomfort sometimes to the point where I'm literally holding back vomit. I'm 85% sure it's a hiatal hernia. I love le herb but I'm miserable whenever I partake. The only solution I've found online is to quit smoking altogether which kinda really sucks. I smoke like 1-3 times a week. If u ents have any advice or experience with this typa shit please share, thanks.
Iβve been dealing with upperGI issues for the past 5 months. It all started when I lifted a heavy object and days later had some sharp pains just under my left rib. The sharp pain went away and I thought nothing of it.
A couple weeks later I began experiencing low appetite and feeling full quickly during meals; followed by a lot of belching.
Two months pass and I get a sore/inflamed throat. Tested negative for strep after a week. The soar throat continued on for a month and I visited an ENT who suspected LPR (silent reflux) and put me on PPIs for 3 months.
Iβm currently on month 2 of the PPIs and have the following symptoms:
-Dull pain on low left rib
-Constant belching (especially after eating/drinking)
-Throat inflammation, voice hoarseness
-Feeling the need to swallow
-Heartburn
-Throat gurgles
Does anyone have similar symptoms and have been diagnosed with a HH? I have a GI appointment coming up soon and am wondering if I should push for an endoscopy.
I was diagnosed with a small hiatal hernia and have a job in retail produce area which requires lifting 50lbs boxes most of the day , I'm worried if this can worsen my hernia or turn it into a paraesopgheal one since, I am trying to change jobs but the pandemic has made this harder and have bills to pay and family to provide for. I am male in my 30s. Recently I have been feeling like a sticking pain in my chest and when breathing it hurts. I had this endoscopy 2 months can anything change that fast, the results were small hiatal hernia , mild acid reflux. Sometimes I just feel a sticking in my chest breathing and a spasm like , visited the er ecg and blood work normal and they sent me home. The feeling I get is swallowing I get a pain and spasm like in my chest and feel like something is stuck but can still eat and then panic and start feeling dizzy. I asked my family doctor if lifting the heavy weight will make it worse he said not in his opinion, and won't make it bigger , just worried went to googling and Google results it can turn into a paraesopgheal one in older people but anxiety makes this bad esp with this chest pain and feeling faint
Can't burp. Never have been able to. I used the air vomit method up until I had a Nissan fundoplication. Now, I absolutely can not release any air. I'm looking into botox. Does anyone know if the hiatal hernia repair I had will hinder the botox shot from working? I'm desperate.
I'm thinking about having it done in the future. Was just wondering what are the experiences with redditers out there. Does it manage or cure your gastritis, is your fight or flight under control, hows your overall digestion now? I would love to learn as much as I can about this before making this jump. Wondering if everyone out there would do it again if they could go back. Thanks in advanced for your inputs, may you all have a blessed day
Around 2 months ago I vomited after eating some mushrooms for mental health benefits and for the next 3 weeks or so I felt nauseous almost constantly and at one point I started feeling like my breathing was slightly impaired. I went to the ER and was cleared of cardiac and any blood clots but the CT did note "a small hiatus hernia" that was not seen on endoscopy or ct the previous year.
For a couple weeks symptoms seemed to go away for the most part, until last week when i ate a big meal and my heart started beating through my chest and I felt feverish and vomited it all up. All week now I have been nauseous and along with that nausea is a feeling of chills, achiness, just a general feeling of being sick with a stomach flu.
I've dealt with GERD for almost half a decade but it's been controlled completely as long as I take Nexium daily, but this feels new and the symptoms started as soon as I noticed the "small hiatal hernia".
Does anyone else get full on sick feeling periods with this?
I'm seeing a new gastro because my last one seems like the type of guy to not listen and/or downplay the hernia. If this is indeed the hernia I want a gastro that will understand that if diet modification doesnt work then I'll definitely opt for surgery. I'm miserable being extremely nauseous constantly.
My red blood cell and hemoglobin levels are newly high as well, although I dont know if that is relevant information.
Anyone else get flu like symptoms and fatigue/dizziness for HH?
Anyone else experience weird heart sensations like PVCs, heart flutters, skipped beats, etc from their hernia? Especially from certain positional changes like twisting, bending over or even from getting stressed or anxious? Iβve had all of the cardiac testing, and my heart is healthy. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this. Maybe itβs irritation of the vagus nerve. Maybe itβs from the hernia sliding. Iβm pretty sure I can feel mine move sometimes. If thatβs even possible.
