Did the Herero people begin to migrate to what is now Namibia from the east during the 17th and 18th centuries and establish themselves as herdsmen? Or did they existed in Namibia before the 17th century?
I read an article (which I cannot access at the moment) written by a German historian who currently lives in Namibia. The Historian claimed that Herero started to migrate to Namibia in the β17th and 18th centuryβ and said that German colonists were not different from Herero, who displaced, tortured, and killed Hottentots. Still, he did not provide evidence for his claim that Herero βdisplaced, tortured, and killed Hottentots.β
