A list of puns related to "Hawser"
It seems to be specific to tugboats and it's located near the stern, but what exactly is it?
Context: writing a book about merchant ships sunk by U-boats in WW2. One of the ships in question is a tugboat and this came up in my research. One of the survivors was sitting on the tug's hawser rack just before the ship hit a mine.
Not in the merchant marine, but I was a US Marine, so explanations are requested via brightly-colored visuals.
I'm just about to read Ship of Magic, and I'm looking over the maps.
Based on the Farseer Trilogy, it's easy to figure out where Bingtown and the Cursed Shores are, but I can't seem to figure out where Hawser Channel is. Is it along the Cursed Shores somewhere?
Can someone help?
Thank you!
I've been reading his lexicanum article, and I found his character premise very fascinating, as it adds a lot of "slice of life" depth that is sorely lacking in the grander 40k setting, as well as interesting aspects of both Vylka Fenryka and Thousand Sons warfare. After finishing, I have a few questions that I feel weren't answered yet
Edit 1: I acknowledge that the various adeptus did not exist before the Horus Heresy, but the rest of question 1 still stand

So I recently re read my favourite book in the Horus heresy series. Prospero Burns and I had a thought.
Is Kasper hawser still in stasis. At the end of the book he is going back into the long dark with cormek dod and the other dreadnoughts because he was a unwitting spy.
So in the 41st millennium do you think he is still there and occasionally brought out to tell the tale of the scouring of prospero?
Would he not be useful having walked with the primarchs and seen the emperor? After all he knew bjorn the fell handed before he was part of Russβs retinue! So thoughts?

In the book burning of prospero Russ sometimes calls Hawser by another name Ibn rustah. Could anybody explain to me why Russ do so?
Context: Hawser is a Space Wolf skjald that was accepted by the legion despite his past containing 'maleficarum' or warp tampering. Russ and the Wolves in their rivalry assumed that he was a spy for the TSons, however on Prospero during the Wolves assault Hawser is confronted by his manipulator and discovers the true extent of the chaos manipulations that lead to the Burning of Prospero.
>HE DID NOT need to name himself. I had seen his proud likeness many times on posters and pictcasts, on souvenir medals and holo-portraits: Primarch, Warmaster, the beautiful one, the foremost of the first sons. He was a giant, like all of his brothers. The little sleepchamber of the superorbital suite barely contained the scale of him. He was wearing the striking, Imperial white-gold armour of his Legion. A single, staring eye was fashioned across the breastplate. It was surrounded by an eightpointed star.
>He smiled down at me, a reassuring smile, the smile bestowed by a wise father on a miscreant child.
>βI donβt understand,β I said.
>βYou were never supposed to, Kasper,β he said. βYou were only ever a playing piece on a board. But I have grown fond of you down the years, and I wanted to see you one last time before the game was over.β
>βWeβve never met before, my lord,β I said. βI would have remembered.β
>βWould you? I doubt it,β he replied.
>βSer,β I said. βI have been privy to warnings. Grave warnings. A threat upon your life. I was shown a weaponββ
>βThis?β he asked. He drew the Anathame from his belt. It shone with malign light, just as it had done in my un-memories. βItβs too late. A year or so from now, this blade will have done its work upon me. I will be finished, and I will be renewed.β
>βA year or so from now? How can you speak of time in such a topsy-turvy sense?β
>He smiled again.
>βWhen this blade cuts my thread, Kasper, occulted gods will take me in their arms. They will warp me. My life will change from mortal order to immortal Chaos. I will defy the laws of the cosmos and the rules of creation. Look at the two of us here, standing in your past. Prospero burns in your present, Kasper, but neither of us is there.β
>βWhy?β I cried. βWhy? What have you done? What madness have you wrought?β
>βI am clearing the board for the game to come,β he said. βI am setting it out the way I want it. Two key obstacles to my ambitions are the Sons of Prospero and the Wolves of Fenris. The former is the only Legion that h
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hi everyone,
I'm currently blazing through the HH and just finished Prospero Burns. At the end it's mentioned that the Wolves put our good boy Kasper in stasis so he can't be used against the Wolves again. Considering the events that happen in 30k as well as 40k, is Kasper still in stasis? Or has he been written off as a minor character, only important for Prospero Burns?
Just a quick question.
Why did Ahriman and other Sons with him recognize Hawser or care about his name when they meet him in the past?
Is this a tidbit connected with Prospero Burns that I do not remember? Just wanted to know as its been bugging me.
Thanks.
These are the two maps side by side but I can't figure out where Hawser Channel fits into it. Any help would be appreciated.
Has Hawser ever been mentioned in "present day" 40k or have the space corgis forgotten about their guest in the freezer?
