A list of puns related to "Greybeard"
It seems to be an all-male order at least in the present and I assume it's because Bethesda wanted a certain monk-aesthetic. But is it just a coincidence all the greybeards happen to be men in the present?
As far as I know in Jurgen Windcaller's time there were female tongues, I have definitely fought female Draugur in Skyrim who can use the Thu'um, and I don't think Paarthurnax would care about gender.
(The Greybeards don't remark on you being a woman if you play a female dragonborn but you are a special case anyway, and they might believe women can learn the Thu'um but this order is just for men?)
Or maybe it's something that has changed over time, as far as we know we don't know how the Greybeards do get new members, it might have been affected by cultural trends. (This is my headcanon)
This isnβt anyoneβs fault really. Itβs inevitable with the large influx of new people. Lately itβs been pretty frustrating with the influx of new players joining higher difficulties when they clearly arenβt ready. I enjoy sheaparding new players and itβs one of my favorite parts of the game. But Iβve been losing hosted game after game because a lot of greenbeards are so new they havenβt even grasped the basics and donβt know how to communicate via chat or the ping tool. It makes my heart sink because Iβve had to kick a few players for not listening despite being told not to pop dreads when no one is ready or close by/spamming all the eggs at once/hogging resups/etc. I want to be the kind and accepting greybeard that will give newcomers an awesome experience, but Iβm becoming increasingly jaded with the inability to communicate in higher hazards where you have to somewhat know what youβre doing or at least be open to LEARN. Sorryβ¦ rant over. I really do love you guys, rock and stone
Edit: Hey everyone! Just wanted to iterate some stuff since this post has sparked a lot of discussion. I hope I didnβt come off as gatekeepy in my rant. DO NOT feel discouraged from joining public lobbies! This game has great pub lobbies and we love have you as a part of our team! Just know that hazards 4 and 5 may be pretty difficult if youβre just starting out. If you feel you can take on hazard 4 or even 5 thatβs AWESOME and weβd love to have you on board. Even for me after 1000+ hours Hazard 4 is my comfort zone, and hazard 5 still feels pretty nuts. Iβd say Hazard 3 is a great difficulty to get a feel for the game and the challenges Hoxxes throws at you. Please reach out if you have any questions about the game or need tips on mechanics.
True Dwarves don't brag about themselves. They brag about other Dwarves
Edit: I made this while still drinking my cup of dwarven coffee (no difference in coffee beside me claiming it is dwarven). That said, I wasn't fully awake and the poll might not make complete sense (looking at you option 5), but you're not a bunch of leaf lovers so I don't think you'll have any issue figuring it out
It's a personal preference, but I guess I'll list a few reasons why.
First of all, I don't think that much good of the Greybeards. When you dig beneath the surface, they don't respect Dragonborn more than the Blades. They act all wise and almighty but throughout the dialogue Arngeir loses his temper and even has an attitude towards the player.
And what's with the "this is our final gift to you, Dragonborn" thing? Why? If they want to help so much, why won't they gift the Dragonborn with more Shouts or just be more helpful in general? They're like, yeah truly great to meet you Dragonborn, but you're on your own, we're too busy staring at the window and doing yoga. Peace bro.
They are dragon fetishists who literaly worship and idolize Paarthurnax, they lost all care about the outside world and even suggest that ending this world maybe isn't that bad. Their apathy, nihilistic philosophy and fetishism towards dragons genuinely creeps me out.
On the other side you have the Blades. Yes, Delphine is made to be arrogant, bossy, dislikeble character, again, on the surface. That's the thing with Bethesda, there's usualy more to dig in their character design and lore. If you travel with her to Kynesgrove she even admits along the road being overly paranoid. But try to understand why - her entire order has been wiped out, lost all friends, lives in hiding as she's being hunted down by Thalmor, and still manages to run the inn and actively seeks out the way to fight Thalmor and dragons.
For those who played earlier games know that Blades are among the most important factions in game and in lore. They're basically Empire's secret service. So to me, meeting the Blades again, since Morrowind days, has a nostalgic factor. And everyone forgets one small detail in her dialogue - Blades also guide the Dragonborn, not just serve him. Delphine takes the guiding role to the max limits, but she is also helpful, she fights the dragon with you at least once.
As for Paarthurnax, I get why everyone loves him so much. He's a dragon and helpful and speaks all this cool, deep philosophy. Yet, he lives lonely at the peak of the mountain, like a relict of a long gone world. People of Tamriel will never accept dragons again, no matter what and he is doomed to live alone. Maybe we do a service to him by killing him.
title
(sorry if i have bad english, not my first language)
In my current playtrough i had reached the point where it was time to climb the 7000 steps yet again and visit the greybeards, when a tought struck me, what if the greybeard order has "extinction" periods?
what do i mean by that? we know by playing skyrim that the current order is composed of five members, the four human / men / nords in the temple, and Paarthurnax in the peak of the mountain, there are currently no apprentices being trained nor is any prospect of that changing soon.
Now, setting aside the dubious logistics of living reclused on the top of a mountain without any type of crops or farm animals, the fact that the only current (mortal, non scaley) members of the order are all elderly men, one would not be blamed for thinking that the days of the greybeard order are basically numbered, if they are not training new people, who will take their resposibilites after they pass away?
The answer that my idea proposes? no one will, once the current greybeards pass away, high hrotghar will be left unmanned for a period of time, it could be months, years, decades even, before someone decides to climb the steps looking to become a greybeard themselves, only to find an abandoned monastery wich may or may not contain the remains of the last greybeard to die, and an enormous, methuselah-looking dragon waiting for his newest apprentice in the ways of the voice.
It is a fact within the game that most people who climb the steps never make it past the gates of the monastery, let alone see a greybeard in person, Klimmek, being the cool guy he is, has been leaving them supplies as a gift at their doorstep for years, yet has never seen one of the monks even from afar. So it could be plausible that people just wouldnt know that the monastery had been left unmanned until someone actually tried to open the doors to talk to the greybeards, and then partysnax would swoop down and do his thin, restarting the greybeard order in a process of extinction and reincarnation trough the ages.
what do you think?
I smoked them all and threw out the package before I decided to write this review.
They burnt pretty dark, and I had to light 4 out of the 5 joints at least twice because the cherry would pop out when I went to ash it.
Smoke was as you'd expect from a dark ash. High was.. underwhelming.
Package? Close but no cigar, seems potentially airtight, but difficult to open and close. Ended up moving the last 3 into another tin.
For ~$29 before tax for 5x .5g preroll, not worth it. Not necessarily a terrible smoke, but not worth the price when there are better, cheaper options out there. I bought it because I had bought a quarter ages ago and really enjoyed it. The prerolls had less than half the terps in it than the flower had. (iirc 1.09% vs 2.93%).
Wanting to share my experience to maybe save someone else a similar sad experience to me (buying it with high hopes, only to have them dashed).
I was curious at what you guys think its the turning point, just yesterday this question pop into my head and i asked it to my friend, we've been playing since June from last year. I personally have 450 hours into the game, have unlocked and bought every old weapon overclock, most of the cosmetic ones. So i dont know, do you think one of these things is that turning point or a bunch of them or other ones that i forgot, what do you think?
I have no clue where I stand, and many others dont as well.
Hello guys.Should i side with the Greybeards or The Blades for the Future of Tamriel. The Way of the Voice or The Way of the Dragonslayer.( I have finished the Main questline)
When you need to learn a Dragonrend Shout
I feel confued when I said"The Blades just want to defeat Alduin. Don't you? "then Arngeir (one of The Greybeards who can speak ) said"What I want is irrelevant. This Shout was used once before, was it not? And here we are again. Have you considered that Alduin was not meant to be defeated? Those who overthrew him in ancient times only postponed the day of reckoning, they did not stop it. If the world is meant to end, so be it. Let it end and be reborn."
(After that with Einarth words, Arngeir agree to helps me)
So.......Should i side with the Blades or The Greybeards for The future of Tamriel.
(Sorry for my Grammars)
Thank you! .
As the title says: I am looking for a team to play with on Steam. This community is said to be one of the nicest on this planet, so I said to myself why the hell not asking here around for other players to join me.
Some things about myself:
I have passion for video games since I was a young age. I'm a big Halo fan and Sci-Fi in general I enjoy a lot. My heart beats in the rhythm of a Sci-Fi generator. But I also have a weakness for interesting Fantasy. So here we are with Deep Rock Galactic that combines Sci-FI and Fantasy in a humours way.
I started to play DRG around the first year in orbit event. Well I saw my fair share of things that Hoxxes IV has to offer, but I'm still very excited about the future. I preferably play Scout and Engineer, but I have no problem to get familiar with Driller or Gunner.
Some things for you
I post this on here and don't go simply for a LFG, because I'm looking for a more permanent team. It doesn't always need to be DRG that has to be played either. This post is for other teams that needs a new player, as well as for other solo players. Greenbeards and Greybeards are equally welcome too. So e.g you are Green/ Greybeard that is looking for some guidance or back-up or both, I'm up for the task. Language wise: my native tongue is German, so there is of course a preference, but I tend to say my English is not that bad. I can at least write in it and understand and if someone gives me a bit time warm up my tongue I probably speak it not that bad neither.
Long story short
If someone is interested, let me know in the comments. We can exchange discord id via dm and arrange a meet up or something.
I play on Steam. I own an Xbox, but I play on Steam. I am so sorry, sometimes I am such a scatter brain
