A list of puns related to "Glengarry"
I read a few of Mamet's plays in college and thought they were alright. Then the other week I got curious about him and was reading some articles and thought to myself "I should watch his seminal film Glengarry Glen Ross. I love Jack Lemmon and Ed Harris. Al Pacino is hot. What could go wrong?"
Wow. I really did not like this movie. It's probably the most masculine thing I've ever seen. I usually like when I can tell a movie was originally a play but all I could think the whole time was "these people are acting from a script." Maybe it's bc I'm a girl but the whole thing just felt like a weird, vaguely sexual masculine debasement fantasy.
Man can't make a sale. He can't provide for his family. He is emasculated. He is sad. I guess it's not a bad critique of capitalism. Jack Lemmon was great and so was Al Pacino. The ending was solid but not solid enough for me to feel good about suffering through the rest. My charitable review is that this style of storytelling/dialogue writing is just not for me. I mostly found it boring except when I was feeling horny for Al Pacino/trying to tell what color his eyes are.
This is my OPINION so don't bully me. I'm curious how other people feel about this movie.
35 keys. That K stands for Keys. And Pure means I want keys and metal ONLY.

OK, not sure how many others have had this experience, you see a great movie (for example, as in the title, Glengarry Glen Ross), and wanting to share it with everyone, you put it on for your parents - and suddenly become cognizant of sheer volume of profanity (or nudity, sex, bestiality and combinations there of) and want to immediately turn it off, but can't, you have to sit there very uncomfortable for at least the next 90 minutes.
Extreme example, a friend got stuck in a room with his parents and grandparents, watching Blue Velvet (based on his recommendation when asked).
In another thread maybe 10 minutes ago, I recommended the killer movie Breaking the Waves from Lars Von Trier, and realized that this could lead to the same consequences.
I am crazy late to the party, but just watched GG GR for the first time and Jack Lemmon just sounded like the inspiration for the Old Gil character. Does anyone know if heβs based on this, or someone else entirely? Not sure if Matt Groening ever spoke about it.
sooo i recently found out i got assigned to the 9th floor on glengarryβ¦ super unenthusiastic about it because iβve heard itβs the worst from many. iβm just wondering if anyone knows exactly how bad it is or maybe has some input that might cheer me up about it??ππ also about the bathrooms, anyone know exactly how many people the bathroom will be shared between?? i can do 3 but iβve heard there can be 6 and that just seems like a lot
Do bosses come in and cuss you out if you dont sell?
Anyone ever win a cadillac?
Since there can only be six I grouped together the two least talked about performances. If you vote for Arkin or Pryce, say so below.
