I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Levelling up alts with dungeon runs, I've noticed almost no SCHs using Excogitation. I also noticed in one of the "SCH changes" threads that lots of people want it buffed. I can only assume it is because they are not using it properly because it's absolutely amazing and the best SCH skill since lustrate.
It is higher potency than lustrate.
For the same cost, it heals for more. Admittedly I feel lustrate should return to the 1/3rd health bar it used to be because I never understood changing that and cleric is no longer a thing, but now I am off my own topic.
It will auto proc when the tank goes below half health
So you don't have to worry about those auto-attack follow ups to tank busters. Rescue heal after the tank buster hits.
It lasts for 30 seconds
And this is the important part because it's so much more necessary to have Aetherflow on cooldown than ever before with our mana regen nerfs. Got one stack of Aetherflow left, out of combat running to the next mobs, Aetherflow comes off cooldown? Stick Excog on the tank. Tank about to do a big pull, you want time to get dots set up? Stick Excog on the tank. Tank buster coming up soon but not immediately but aetherflow is off cooldown? Stick Excog on the tank. Party member targeted for attack that reduces them to 1hp? Excog.
The cooldown for it+duration of thirty seconds lines up perfectly with the tankbusters in Susano. Is it off cooldown? Stick it on the tank there's about to be a tankbuster.
TLDR: Use Excogitation please.
we are coming up to almost a month of EW and with players testing out SGE. Trying SGE out in the EX trials and now in the normal raids, how do people feel about SGE and how it compares/differs from SCH? healing wise, excluding the dmg they do.
I would say people would have a better answer during savage prog but I don't think savage is needed to feel the limits of what sage can do when you can basically push yourself on SGE and SCH now and experiment.
I've played both SGE and SCH in the EX trials and in normal raids with both good players and bad players. Partnered with pure healers and other barriers healers and i think i have come to an understanding how well both can heal in good and bad predicaments. I've raided both Noct AST and SCH, abit in HW half of the SB raids and i focused more on AST in all the Eden raids due to me not liking how SCH was in SHBs. For me essentially i love both i feel that they both feel really good, i loved the concept of barrier healers since they came out with SCH in ARR and loved ASTs barrier so ofc i missed ASTs Noct. At the base level, like Yoshi said they, do the same thing and essentially have the same skills, just slightly altered. what makes them different is how you take full advantage of their skills with your tanks and co healers.
A good example is Terochole and Holos, both are just SCHs fey blessing and Excogitation with one being weaker in potency and the other being on a longer CD. However they have a 10% dmg reduction. Taking advantage of that 10% can be helpful especially when you combine them to get roughly ~20% and being roughly 15 secs. that is almost a tank rampart. OR using Kerachole and then Terochole then back to Kerachole after to keep up a 10% dmg reduction up for basically 45 secs.
Even with both jobs being almost close to identical they can NOT be played the same. ive seen a few SCH to SGE players who tried to play them the same and struggle with barriers and healing when i was leveling my PLD. Idk if its me but i feel SGE is more so a sustain barrier healer and plays there role in a longer run, yes they have abit of a burst heal but they seem to better preform over time in a fight better than SCH due to how fast you can throw shields out. with four of their healing abilities being 120s you have to be more mindful of burst healing or combining certain skills when healing than SCH.
SCH only has 3 healing abilities at 120+ secs, if you don't use dissipation as a dps tool SCH can get back 3 full st

They were cooked in Greece.
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

Heard they've been doing some shady business.
Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
