A list of puns related to "Ethnic Slur"
Selamlar.
According to the wikipedia list that people love, it is.
Edit: yes, I know it is ridiculous, that was my point. Citing a wikipedia page like a nerd is bad, but the damn list is so over the top. Who genuinely thinks gringo/cracker/gusano is in any capacity an actual slur lmao?
Clip of hasan saying it and destiny reacting
For context: The word is typically used against people of Cuban ethnic background that were against the Cuban revolution. Destiny's Cuban-American and believes that hasanabi is giving his audience the ok to use a slur against him. Both of them have had several feuds in the past.
Some highlights:
Didn't Destiny try to justify using the N-word? He has no ground to stand on here. (referring to destinys stand that its ok to say the n word in private as a joke)
Hasan is a huge hypocrite for defending a racial slur. Just saying.
["It just means worm". So its okay to just call a turkish person a "Roach" then.](https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamFail/comments/okhp
... keep reading on reddit ➡For example, Louis CK's mother is Mexican. So if you're okay with calling him a cracker, would you also be fine calling him a wetback or beaner? I mean, he's white so there's no harm being done to him. Plus those aren't skin-tone-specific insults.
The word Polack is not well known that much anymore unless if you’re ethnically Polish or at least that’s the case where I live (Chicago). It seems odd that the Anglicisation of a Polish word (Polak, the male version for a Pole) would become offensive or degrading
I feel like I’m going insane seeing this take everywhere. I’ve even seen some people compare it to the n word!
It seems like older men who get in trouble for these things are genuinely confused about it. Pardon me if my question is biased by today’s political climate.
as stated, if you are using slurs against people and take offense when one is used against you, you shouldn’t be using slurs in the first place. i’ve seen a vast amount of people use slurs comfortably outside, yet once someone says something about it, they play victim as if they didn’t do anything wrong. you shouldn’t be using slurs if you’ll take offense once someone uses a slur applicable to you.
So I know that black people call each other the N-word, but do other races do something similar(Like Asians calling each other the G slur)?
I started doing captioning projects on Rev, only 3 jobs so far and just very tiny ones: 1-2 minutes. I came across a 3 minute rap video while getting an idea of what I might do next but I realized I didn't know how to caption n***a(or is it n*gga? this is the first time I've ever had to be formal about it. for reference I'm southern black). Anyhow, I'm just a little confused about what is appropriate about captioning when it comes to certain racially sensitive words, even if they're not malicious in context, in the professional entertainment market.
This may not be the case in all campaign worlds, but in my homebrew world, there exit a number of prejudices regarding all the different races that exist in dnd.
Due to some history and the sheer amount of races, cultures and ethics that permeate the planes, we can assume they don’t all get along, and have therefore developed certain derogatory, or offensive terms targeted towards specific races. As you do...
(Kinda like the n-word, but for Dragonborn as an aggressive example. Perhaps not quite so offensive, but definitely derogatory or rude...)
In an effort to further connect my players to the world which their characters inhabit, I want certain terms to be commonplace in certain parts of the world to give a sense of cultural influences and racial prejudice. I would greatly appreciate all your offensive fantasy racism. Without further ado...
Dragonborn referred to as “Chromos.”
Elves (specifically high elves) referred to as “Pointers” (pointy ears. Get it?) or “Links.”
(Rock) Gnomes: Crinks (They like to tinker. Sometimes their machinery makes creaking noises. It’s not that complicated...)
Halflings: “Halfers, Newts, Spriggs.”
Humans: “Humies, Takers, Imp (slang for Imperial.)
Tieflings: “Devils, Hellspawn,” (the latter being extremely offensive.)
...Please feel free to get creative with these, as I can’t think of any more lol. Additionally, I apologize in advance if any of the ones I put down are slurs irl, as I have done little research.
EDIT: Wow, you guys are racist! Thanks to everyone who helped out with this list (it’s a little all over the place lol sorry mods!) I hope this helps someone else’s campaign as much as it’ll affect and help mine!
Thank you, and happy delving!
