A list of puns related to "Estradiol"
I donβt have insurance but after having my appointment they told me all the medications at the pharmacy should add up to $40 ish. So my excited as went in the pharmacy today and the nice lady at the counter was like βDo you have insurance?β And I replied no. She was then like βThis one is $150.00, are you sure you want this one?β I was thinking omg how the hell will I be able to afford this the rest of my life. I paid for it all but now my ass is wondering if this is the actual cost. It is Estradiol (Injections) a small 100mg/5ml bottle the size of my pinky finger. My dosage is 5ml a week like no way I gotta pay this much every weekβ¦ Edit: I am supposed to take 0.25 ml a week for dose of 5mg
I'm sure reddit isn't the best place to be looking for medical advice, but Google is being frustrating. I recently moved and changed insurance providers. Problem is though I had to reschedule a doctor's appointment to get refills, and the soonest they can see me is the 24th of Feburary. Which isn't great because even if I cut down on what's left of my estradiol to just one pill a day, I only have like 24 pills left. And I've heard suddenly stopping HRT after starting it can cause some serious medical problems (I've been on HRT for nearly a year now), and I've already been cutting back past few months (I went from three 1mg pills twice a day, to two, and now to one). I still have a good amount of Spironolactone though, and haven't cut back on that. I guess my question is will I be ok health wise until the 24th?
:3 I'm happy.
Also, cause i never did it:
IM A GIRL! also, for the meme, i took my first pill with soy milk :P
I noticed from reading a few comments that spironolactone is usually started 4 weeks before estradiol. Is there a reason for this, and does it matter that my primary care doc had me start them both at once?
I've been to 3 pharmacies and they've all said they can't order in the estradiol gel as it's out of stock, seems strange as I've not had this before... wanted to know if I'm the only one?
OH MY GOD!!!!
that's the whole post
Canβt remember which, is this caused by too low or too high E? Also having some loss of sensation and orgasam intensity
I'm just wondering if that's low because I just switched to injections dose concentration is 20mg/ML
So ya girl finally got her first round of Estradiol patches last friday! just this morning put my second one on (change twice a week) and have an androgen blocker injection booked for the 6th of January.
Okay so obviously my mileage may/will vary, meds don't work the same for everyone, but I was wondering what people first noticed when going on e? im both excited and really curious to see what other peoples timelines were :)
Can anyone tell me what to expect? I told my doctor I was still wanting in the changes department, and she thought I'd be in a good place to add progesterone.
However, she did say that along with the changes, it can alter mood and pose health risks.
So progesterone takers, what are your experiences with it?
UPDATE: due to a heart murmur they decided to hold off on prescribing it. I was really excited but that's okay. Thanks for the comments β€οΈ
I'm about a month into HRT. I take Progynova Estradiol valerate. 4mg daily at the moment. I've been taking it orally with water with my breakfast every morning. I do the same with Cypro. That's my set routine.
I have heard through the grapevine that some people take Estradiol sublingually instead. Apparently I you can better results. So I heard anyway.
Just wondering if taking it sublingually actually does help, and who takes it orally? And if there's actually a difference?
i take 4mg estradiol orally and 200mg spiro orally. at my last endo appt in october, my levels were 183 pg/mL estradiol and 12.8 ng/dL testosterone. the results from my appt last week said my testosterone went down to 7.6 ng/dL but my estradiol also went down to 111 pg/mL. should i ask to increase my estradiol dose?
Doing planned Parenthood HRT.
Any input is much appreciated. Below are my levels and doses for HRT. I have a ton of info and questions so I'm just going to do bullet points. My prescriber doesn't really listen to me so I'd like any input you guys can offer before speaking to her on Monday or Tuesday.
CURRENT DOSES:
Spironolactone 100mg/day (for a year now) Estradiol valerate 10mg/week injections (3 months now)
MOST RECENT LABS
Estradiol: 567 pg/mL Testosterone: 14 ng/dL
INFO:
Feeling great since starting injections 3 months ago but definitely not seeing any new changes. No breast pain or bud since August when I was on pills.
I spent 1 year doing tablets (8mg/day by the end of my first year, with levels peaking at 123 pg/mL before switching to injections) and got decent results. One boob seems to be a full A cup with the other lagging behind.
The purpose of this lab is to confirm T is suppressed enough to drop spironolactone. I am expecting that phone call any day now and want to be ready. (Yay!)
My prescriber refused outright to test for estrone stating that 'there is no commercially available test for estrone'. This sub already debunked that for me although I still have been unable to get her to order the labs.
To poor to order labs myself without insurance paying.
QUESTIONS:
With estradiol being this high but no notable results in 3 months what could be going on? I may be simply impatient but I don't trust my prescribers decision making at all because she lied to me about estrone.
Should I push for more labs before lowering my estradiol valerate doses? I expect her to discontinue Spiro and also lower my EV at the same time.
Is this EV level actually unsafe?
Am I an estrone mutant? Lol
Thanks in advance for any input. I may be wound up about nothing here but I just y'all to look this over before I meet with the doc, just in case she says/does something weird.
EDIT: My most recent bloodwork was done on FRIDAY and I take my EV injection every TUESDAY.
I've been on 6 mg a day sublingual for a while now and I haven't been seeing the best results. My last lab work shows my estrodiol at 118 pg/ml and my estrone at 955 pg/ml. I asked my doctor about switching to injections as I'm already at 14 months hrt. She says due to my low body weight (5'3 85 lbs) and muscle condition (muscle myopathy/weakness) she doesn't feel comfortable with prescribing me intramuscular injections. Should I ask to switch to patches, keep insisting on injections or just keep taking pills? I've been starting to take them bucally instead of under my tongue, maybe that'll give me better results?
So I just did my first injection today (weekly) and it was .25ml. Now im concerned because my doctor from planned parenthood honestly seems completely inept on a lot of this stuff. I dont know her specialty and I have been given low doses from the start. My prescribed progesterone keeps switching between 200 for a few months and 100 for a few (im pretty sure its just because she doesn't check). I was on 2mg daily E for almost half a year and then 4mg. This is oral. My breast growth was minimal. I have blonde hairs all over my body now, but still, I prescribe that mainly to the 150mg spiro daily. I am just concerned if its a low dose again. As I looked and a ton of different YouTube videos with t-girls doing injects they had almost .5ml per injection weekly. My doctor hasnt had my blood results in almost a year because of an abusive boyfriend and traveling, but i'd like to hear other peoples weekly injections and how you have been doing on them. Im concerned that this doctor is screwing me over with a sheer lack of attention or knowledge on hormones levels in the body and such. Im getting my blood test the end of this week and im scheduling to see another doctor in 2 months to get their opinion on my levels and to potentially get injections and switch to bica. Im not a fan of spiro. I am not a fan of the ineptitude I've seen when asking questions related to dose administering and correlating levels and stuff. She didnt even know if eating before would make a difference when taking spiro which is just plain saddening to hear from the doctor in charge of me. Any help or advice or explanation of your doses would be great. I've been on oral for almost a year and a half now. Thank you very much
my friend gave me some ethinyl estradiol patches and itβs all i have access to rn. i quartered the patch and i think that gives 7micrograms? basically im unsure if i should be using it at all because of its dangers to do with blood and the heart etcβ¦
My OBGYN prescribed the Estradiol patch to me.
A PCP prescribed the Estradiol patch, Progesterone, and Testosterone cream to my employer.
I am 51 and she is 63.
Though I have yet to fill my script, the Estradiol patch was prescribed because I complained of hot flashes and night sweats.
She was suffering from the whole menopause kit and caboodle, including depression and extreme moodiness.
I do not have depression or moodiness, but I do have
I am not peri, but menopausal.
My employer is also menopausal.
My sex drive is fine.
I am doing blood work in Feb.
Should I ask my doctor for Progesterone?
I don't think I need Testosterone cream, as I am not moody.
Thank you for your time, interest, and reply.
First off, I started oral estradiol yesterday, and I couldn't be happier about it! That said I do have some questions about what to expect during the process. For starters, I've already noticed my skin is starting to become slightly smoother, and I have less fat under my biceps. (Not the most physically active by the way , but I do plan on changing that sometime soon.) I've even noticed... something else but I gotta keep this post sfw lol. I've even noticed some behavioral changes. I'm a lot happier now, and opening up to people more, but I'm choosing to believe that's because I'm finally taking active steps to mitigate my dysphoria, and feeling happier about it as a result because I just have this gut feeling that things will be alright.
That all said, I do have some questions. First off, is it normal for it to be proceeding this rapidly, or is that just all in my head trying to find as many subtle differences as possible? I did have blood work done before starting hormones and my testosterone levels were really low, abnormally so, so maybe that may be contributing? I'm also wondering if 2mg of oral estradiol is a normal dose. I don't really know much about dosages of hormones so that's all new territory for me haha.
They changed my medication for some estradiol velato capsules made in the laboratory.
my doctor told me to take 6 mg orally, once a day, I take it at night before going to bed, is that ok? or better to take them during the day, under the tongue, he told me that the estradiol wake lasts during the day, I don't know, if that dosage is okay.
I live in Spain (Barcelona) soon I will order my tests, to see how they work, but I wanted to know your opinion, I do not take blockers, since my testosterone is suppressed, is it a sufficient dose? Thank you
i will often feel pretty bad as i approach my nighttime dose, sometimes depressive even. i imagine it could be because of hormone fluctuations, in other words because my E levels are getting low. is this a common experience? do you personally experience this?
The injectable estradiol vials that I get from my compounding pharmacy have consistently less medication than the volume on label. I only get 3.85 - 4.3 ml from a 5 ml vial. Is this normal?
So I am switching from pills to injections and I am curious if anyone has any advice on what form would be best.
My doctor was going to prescribe estradiol valerate bu from what I have seen based on this estimation graph
https://transfemscience.org/misc/injectable-e2-simulator/
That form seems to have high peaks and low dips even on weekly injections. It looks to my eye that estradiol cypionate oil has the most stable levels with minimal peaks and dips.
Does anyone have any experience with either of these forms positive or negative? And does anyone know it the provided levels grapher is fairly accurate?
Thank you all in advance β€
Today marks the beginning of a new era in my life
Recently I noticed that, to my shock, my T - which is usually 20 ng/dl - is higher than pre-transition (580 ng/dl). So I assume my Estradiol Dose (4ml Gel per day) was just not enough (Level: 137 pg/ml).
I upped my dose then, (6ml Gel per day, Level: 279 pg/ml), however after 2 months T seems to have gone only a little bit down. LH is now 3 u/l and FSH 8.30 u/l (also that is still more than pre-transition).
Is it normal to take months for T to shut down? Or does it show that it will not and I need to up my Estradiol dose (to 8ml per day)?
(Note: Besides Estradiol Gel, I also take Bica and Duta. However, Estradiol Injections are not available in my country.)
So I went to this expensive menopause specialist here in NYC and he said I should switch to Premarin from the estradiol patch. He said long term safety profile better on conjugated estrogens. So I switched 4 days ago. I was feeling pretty good on the patch except anxiety and mood swings reappeared through the night and insomnia. Days were fine. Dose was very low 0.025 patch. Now on 0.45 Premarin. Alrightβ¦.now I feel pretty shitty. Mood is weird. Not totally bad but off. Very nervous. I know itβs only been 4 days and there is probably an adjustment. But Iβm so angry that I felt pretty awesome during the days and now Iβm missing out on holidays because I feel weird. Anybody has any thoughts or encouragement? I feel stupid for messing with something that sort of worked. I will call doctor Monday.
My free testosterone is 26 (high average) and my E2 is 25). Also my prolactin is normal and thyroid is normal. This is with 150mg testosterone injection 1x per week and .25mg arimidex 1x per week.
Iβve been on TRT for 6 months and donβt feel too much better than I did before when my testosterone was 200 total.) My energy is not horribly bad but I donβt have the energy or motivation to go out and have fun or to hang with friends, libido is still weak, and mood is off and on.
Iβve experimented with different E2 levels and I havenβt felt a significant change.
I want to actually feel better because Iβve been on TRT for 6 months and felt bad before as well. I felt better after a month of TRT for literally 3 days and then I went back to how I felt before. Idk why that happened.
Iβve seen multiple doctors (endos and urologists) and none of them can give me answers or seem like they know much about TRT. Iβve basically been doing the same thing with variations in arimidex dose for 6 months.
In recent labs I had done, I found that my ferritin (iron stores) levels were very low. My ferritin was 15 ng/mL (range 30-400). Iβve been donating blood every 8 weeks because my hematocrit is high, so that may be why itβs so low. Iβm taking iron supps and seeing a hematologist and GI doctor to treat low ferritin and find out why.
My question isβ¦
Is it likely that this is the main reason I donβt feel great even though my hormone levels are normal? Have you guys needed to treat this and has it helped much?
Iβm going to see my urologist who is handling my TRT later today. Should I ask him about lowering my dose? Would this benefit me since my free T is already highish and it would lower my hematocrit/ferritin usage?
My diet is great and I exercise btw.
Iβm not a bodybuilder, just a guy who had low T due to an injury who wants to have a normal manβs energy, motivation, and sex drive. So please keep that in mind if you have recommendations.
My urologist started me on 25mg Clomid per day 3 months ago. My free T has jumped from 5.2 to 229 pg/mL (this seems too high/wrong..?) and my total went from 440 to 1188 ng/dL. Iβm very happy with results in terms of symptoms and bloodwork, but whatβs concerning is my estradiol is up from 8 to 62 pg/mL. Is estradiol this high concerning?
Doc also said I could jump to 50 mg per day if I want to try it out, but based on my levels that feels like overkill.
Update: After seeing bloodwork, Doc recommends sticking with 25mg clomid daily with the addition of 1mg anastrozole once a week.
Lo harΓan? Les durarΓa dos aΓ±os y es la mejor manera de recibir estradiol debido a que reduce la posibilidad de embolismos, enfermedades del corazΓ³n y mejor la estabilidad y absorciΓ³n de la dosis
