#Immigration

Fact: Human Rights First documented more than 1,500 cases of murder, rape, torture, and kidnapping of migrants who were sent across the border to Mexico.

The hyper-conservative 5th Circuit again ruled against the Biden administration’s attempt to end the β€œRemain in Mexico” policy requiring migrants seeking asylum to stay in Mexico until their US immigration court date. Despite only mandating the return of the program under its Trump-era parameters, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has chosen to expand it to include more immigrants.

Former President Donald Trump implemented the unprecedented policy, also known as the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), in 2019. Biden fulfilled his campaign promise to end Remain in Mexico in February 2021. However, in August, Trump-appointed District Court Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk issued an injunction against the program’s termination. The Supreme Court then upheld the injunction and, this week, two Trump judges (Oldham and Engelhardt) and a G.H.W. Bush judge (Barksdale) agreed (pdf).

>Lawfare: The Fifth Circuit’s approach, along with the Supreme Court’s decision not to stay the district court’s injunction, conflict with the long-standing deference that courts accord the executive branch on issues of foreign policy…Moreover, if the stay standard is to have integrity and consistency, it cannot merely defer to pro-enforcement government decisions. As the Supreme Court noted in Regents in vacating the Trump DACA rescission, government decisions n

Ideological Trends of Gen-Z

If you look around you’d notice how depressed the average young person is. There’s a high prevalence of β€œedgy” memes laden with ironic nods to nihilism and suicide. Because of this, I think Gen-Z will be the first β€œpost-ideological” generation.

They don’t have a ideology: there’s too much information out there as the internet made ideology obsolete. As the saying goes β€œThe internet destroys religion”. Adolescence is usually the time people discover their first identity trying to answer three big questions: Who the fuck am I? Who am I fucking with? Who am I fucking? I remember when I was in high school and went through a phase where I would identify with a different political ideology every month: theocrat, libertarian, progressive, anarchist, nationalism, communism, centrism and Nihilism. There’s even a YouTube about it.

Nothing matters anymore, people know just enough about the world that they no longer derive meaning from religion, politics or economics. The three big G’s of ideology : God, Government and Greed. People no longer believe in god because there’s no evidence. People don’t believe in government as it doesn’t represent them or their values. We see that money is made up bullshit Now there’s just the last man as Nietzsche predicted in Thus spoke Zarathustra.

There was a Atlantic Article recently about how autocracy is winning. There’s a new network of dictators all working together, not held by one ideology but by pure Machiavellian Nihilism- power for power’s sake. Here you have oligarchs, Islamist, Nationalist and Communist all getting along fine, because it was never about the ideology but the power that it brings over the people that believe in them. But these are boomer ways and it’s just their last gasp. The real question is where Gen Z is going?

Why is ideology dangerous?

What makes someone fly planes into buildings? What makes people put 6 million Jews in concentration camps? What makes someone napalm little girls in Vietnam? Ideology does this. It’s the biggest source of man made misery around. Ideology is man’s worst invention. It is the evil behind every blade, in every bullet and every bomb.

I’ve been studying mass shooters/stochastic terrorist to see what makes them tic and three biggest things seem to be 1. Women, 2. Race 3. Social Status. These guys believed they

People don't realize that sophisticated civilizations have been wiped off the map before

Any time I mention collapse to my "normie" friends, I get met with looks of incredulity and disbelief. But people fail to recognize that complex civilizations have completely collapsed. Lately I have been studying the Sumerians and the Late Bronze Age Collapse.

People do not realize how sophisticated the first civilizations were. People think of the Sumerians as a bunch of loincloth-clad savages burning babies. Until I started studying them, I had no clue as to the massiveness of the cities and temples they built. Or that they literally had "beer gardens" in the city where people would congregate around a "keg" of beer and drink it with straws. Or the complexity of their trade routes and craftsmanship of their jewelry.

From my studies, it appears that the Late Bronze Age Collapse was caused by a variety of environmental, economic, and political factors: climate change causes long periods of draught; draught meant crop failure; crop failure meant people couldn't eat and revolted against their leaders; neighboring states went to war over scarce resources; the trade routes broke down; tin was no longer available to make bronze; and economic migrants (the sea peoples) tried to get a foothold on the remaining resource rich land--Egypt.

And the result was not some mere setback, but the complete destruction and abandonment of every major city in the eastern Mediterranean; civilization (writing, pottery, organized society) disappeared for hundreds of years.

If it has happened before, it can happen again.
