A list of puns related to "Ecumene"
Remember the part in the BoS where the osmium siblings are fighting the Ecumene, when Auryx kills his sisters, then Akka; and then proceeds to kill and trick so many Ecumene that he describes his sisters and brings them back in doing so?
If it had instead been one of the sisters who killed her siblings and then Akka etc. how would she have conjured back Auryx? Just try to learn so many things in short enough a time that she successfully describes Auryx and conjures him?
It must have been absolutely insane as a forerunner civilian watching their empire crumble and burn. We only got to see it from the perspective of high ranking members like the Librarian & Didact(s). What do you think it was like from a βcivilianβ perspective?
Hi, everyone! I made this piece of Fan-Art based on a made up location (Crib of The Ecumene, with the border area depicted here as protected by pacifists), race (The Ecumene / veiled to the Hive, as Forerunners to the Flood in Halo. Not seen, but implicit), and an enemy unit (Egregators based on the infestation from Presage, and pacifist protectors of The Ecumene)
Could you see this in your mind as cohesive in the Destiny Universe? Let me know what you think!
I included Plain.Benβs Howler Sniper Rifle and Crucible Auto Rifle, along with my own Assimilation Severus Nanite Exotic Sword from a while back.

Ancient Forerunners from Halo
Yuuzhan Vong from Star Wars Legends
Who would win?
Hi all.
I recently finished reading the Forerunner Saga. Silentium was my favourite of the three books by-far. One of the parts I found most interesting was the narrative of the Ecumene slowly being overrun by the Flood. The snapshots of burns slowly overtaking the galaxy and the number of remaining Forerunners being whittled down to a few hundred (?) on the Lesser Ark was awe inspiring - the utter collapse of an empire/race that once seemed indestructible.
However, Silentium has left me wanting more from that period of the Halo universe. I felt the book teased a lot of amazing stories, but never really got into them as we follow Bornstellar, Ur-D, the Librarian, and Chakkas around.
I want to know what it was like to be a Forerunner as galactic civilization collapsed around you. What was it like to be on the run from the constant advance of the Flood? What was it like to be a member of the New Council at the end of days? When did the average Forerunner realize that they were doomed?
I know answers to all these questions probably don't exist as of today. But I'm hoping that people can point me to any more media or content that's set during the last days of the Ecumene. I'm already aware of the H4 terminals.
Thanks for the help.
I have not read the forerunner trilogy. Iβve always imagined the forerunners ruling the galaxy for somewhere between 10,000,000 and 100,000,000 years. Do we know how long it really lasted?
We all know what brought about the fall of the Roman Empire. Worsening climate forced nomadic hordes of the Huns westwards, simultaneously driving the Barbarian tribes into the Roman territory. The ensuing demolition of a millennial state and the establishment of new kingdoms on its ruin heralded the beginning of the Dark Ages and the Middle Ages at large. This period, marked by mass migration and the ultimate obliteration of the decaying Roman state, is referred to as the Migration Period.
But what if it was different? What if we could influence such a cosmic phenomenon as the solar cycles? What if the solar activity during the period was increased? What if, in the aftermath of it, the Earthβs average temperatures remained within the scope of the Roman Climatic Optimum?
What if the Migration hadnβt occurred?
With a view to finding an answer to this question and eager to consider which course European and world history wouldβve taken in this scenario, we have started developing a Crusader Kings III mod.
In this mod we wish to picture a world of preserved Western Roman Empire, sketching out global and local historical events which would have come about around it. The lore is being written to span the period from the late 4th century up to 758 A.D. Currently it comprises the history of Eastern Europe at the turn of the 4th century alongside with the history of the civil war, which erupted in the Western Empire in the middle of the 5th century.
The foremost gameplay features, namely, the enhanced religion mechanics include the following:
- the appointment of the Head of the Church mechanics (the introduction of the papal conclave, resembling the similar mechanics from CKII)
- the pentarchy
- the opportunity to choose pantheon gods for pagan confessions
- global religious events (e.g. The Cluniac Reforms)
- introduction of mass conversions and dynamic cultural name list adjustment after them
More features in development:
- new governments: East Roman and Persian systems, Roman feudalism and Nomadism along with the further development of the already existing
- regional and global climatic and natural events which set in motion equally extensive changes in the world order
- a multitude of new cultures (alongside with becoming garments and accessories the modelling of which is in plans), cultural melting pots, cultural supergroup mechanics
and other features which aim at the elaboration and advancement of the game and make way for a profu

Title says all. Open for debate in the comments.
Edit: no god creatures like Darkseid. Challengers must be mortal.
After the Forerunners defeated ancient Humanity, the Flood never returned, thus allowing the Ecumene to continue on as normal. Eventually, they decide to explore other galaxies, and find the Stellaris galaxy. The spiritualist fallen empire, sensing such a sudden disturbance caused by the Ecumene's extremely advanced technology, suddenly awakens to fight this new perceived threat. The rules are as follows:
The Ecumene homeworld that Oryx destroyed what would be a good name for it?
If you complete the grandmaster combat diary, the droprate goes up from 1/60 to 1/40. So if you're currently dry on ecumenical keys you can do the diary and it should improve your odds. Hope this helped someone
in the same fashion illustrated by the Spartan Field Manuel?
All we know about the Ecumene now only exists in the Books of Sorrow, their existence forgotten to time after their destruction by Hive lead by Oryx.
The Ecumene were a collection of twelve spacefaring species who had united under a single government in an unknown galaxy. They were all generally quite advanced, more so than humanity even during its Golden Age. One of these races was the Dakaua. They had massive warmind like computers, planet destroying super weapons, and a multitude of other advanced technological powers.
The Ecumene had an advanced form of communication, primarily relying on chemical transfer with pheromone receptors to give meaning to certain chemical formations to communicate ideas. It was much closer to the communication involved between two computers than of any verbal/visual forms of communication seen in Humans and Eliksni (Fallen).
After the Ammonite civilization was destroyed -the reason for still unknown to the collective Ecumene- by the Hive, Taox (proto-Hive) was discovered by some the Ecumene. She explained the goals, history, culture, and abilities of the Hive to the Ecumene who began mobilizing a war effort to eradicate the Hive for good. Eventually the Hive reached systems controlled by the Ecumene and war began. They were successful in the early stages of the war, destroying entire planets to stop Hive advancement. This impacted Oryx and his siblings who had begun to not satisfy their worms as they were not killing. This led to Oryx slaying the Worm God Akka and gaining the power to Take. This gave the Hive the upper hand they needed as Oryx was able to Take the alien races into mindless Taken slaves, sending them against his opponents.
SPECULATION: As the Ecumene were eradicated, no records remain of them to human knowledge except through the Books of Sorrow. We know not when their great computer started creating frames to carry it's mind fluid out. Those frames were the first Vex, armed with the knowledge of the Hive, time travel, and matter manipulation, with their current goal to ensure the survival of the Ecumene. But the Ecumene were no more...
I used the search function, and I couldn't find an answer. The Book of Sorrows mentions the Ecumene and that Oryx wiped them out. I was recently on the Halo wiki, which refers to the Forerunners as the Ecumene. I just thought it was interesting.
