A list of puns related to "Dry Shampoo"
What the title says. I use it to absorb visible oil along my roots in between actual shampoos (usually just to extend the time between shampoos by 12-24 hours), and I'd like to support an indie company in the process if I can.
Bonus points if:
Does such a thing exist?
Thanks!
Hi,
Im going to make my own dry shampoo using mandioca starch, some kind of clay and a bit of cocoa. My hair is auburn however, so it needs to have a twinge of orange so it fits my hair even better.
What could I mix into it that is orange? I don't want anything that smells too much like food..
This is actually my second attempt at the curly routine. I also just went through two or so months of trying water-only, which had its perks, but hard water makes it a nightmare. So here i am.
I used Noughty Detox Dynamo as a clarifying, apparently great for hard water build up, which i definitely had due to water-only. Followed with Garnier ultimate blends hair food as a conditioner (always seems to be the right level of heavy in the past). Squished it in, rinsed out, then put some more in afterwards as a leave-in. Dried gently with a tshirt. Result = decent hair but a little on the limp side.
Next wash, I used Johnsons baby shampoo (no sulphates), the Garnier conditioner again - squished, rinsed it all out, put more in, rinsed barely any out. I figured maybe using it as a leave-in was too heavy.
Result = My hair AND scalp ended up really dry. Lots of dry dandruff, head doesn't feel oily in the slightest.
I figured the baby shampoo is as gentle as you can get - it's for babies! Any ideas? Might i be better off co-washing instead, and using the detox shampoo whenever i get build up? Maybe the conditioner is too light unless i leave it in?
I ran out of powder and was going to run out and get some talc spray when one of my assistants gave me a can of batiste dry shampoo to try. Worked better than the talc and worked better than my regular spray and came right off with water. Just thought I'd share.
I dyed my black virgin hair for the very first time professionally to a red-ish brown color about a month ago. My hairstylist did use bleach because even after applying two coats of very light dye, my hair didn't change color at all. I started using purple shampoo and conditioner every time I wash my hair (about 3-4x a week), and now my scalp is so dry that it's to the point where when I just lightly tuck my hair behind my ears, flakes fall from my scalp.
Am I using the purple shampoo too often? What can I use instead to wash my hair instead? What is in purple shampoo that is causing my scalp to be so dry/itchy?
I have straight fine hair, no matter how gentle/organic etc shampoo I use, greasy the next morning/day. I also use very gentle powdered vegan dry shampoo, but the amount I have to use to hide my greasy scalp seems like I might as well just wash it everyday?
I'm 30 and this has been my entire adult life.
Thanks for the advice
Asking for a friend.
I have found that the scent of most dry shampoos both powdered and spray trigger my migraine. Has anyone found a dry shampoo they are able to use without triggering their migraine?
Hi so I just dyed my hair orange a few days ago and I washed my hair for the first time today! The blond is showing quite a bit after just 1 shower... I need recommendations for a good color protecting dry shampoo and conditioner, my hair is wavy, curly, and can get very oily... My hair rn is very neon and bright and I'd like to keep that as much as I can (β’ β½ β’;)
Any help please?
It's here!
Since dry shampoo is such a useful product for so many daily washers, I'm going to be running a monthly megathread to allow for more sharing of products and recommendations.
Feel free to post below with any questions you have, requests for product help, dry shampoo successes or failures, or anything else related to dry shampoo!
Most vegan shampoos are sulphate-free.
My scalp needs sulphates because milder surfactants aren't sufficient enough and make me so itchy.
Any recommendations??
I love Batiste, but when I use it my scalp and neck get extremely itchy and break out. I've tried a few other drugstore brands, and a few pro, but none of the alternatives I've tried have done nothing but made my hair more greasy than I started so I always go back to Batiste. I have long, extremely thick hair, so I use more than the average person so I also liked Batiste's XL cans.
Any suggestions? Cheap-mid cost, or something I could get with points at like an Sephora or something. Thank you!!!
I have no energy today and if Iβm gonna get through work and a huge online presentation I canβt spend energy showering today.
So I just used a ton of dry shampoo, and itβs not looking terrible.
Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to make it through.
What are your life hacks for days like that?
Hi gals Iβm over washing my oily hair everyday, Batiste is great but looks kinda ashy and powdery no matter how much I try and rub it in, product recommendations, tips and tricks pleaseeeee π
I have some dandruff and have been using head and shoulders which helps the dry scalp and makes me not itch but it really doesnβt moisturize my hair or benefit my hair in any other way. Does anyone have a recommendation for a shampoo and conditioner that helps with dry/itchy scalp but is also a nice (smells good, moisturizes, de-frizz) sham./cond. combo?
Thanks!
