A list of puns related to "Drainage Basin"
I have this geography question for homework from school, I have no idea how I am supposed to get 20 marks from it. Any suggestions?
Hi, I'm using QGIS for personal reasons (alt history nerd) and am looking to map out the territory of the Hudson's Bay Company/ Rupert's Land. Their claimed territory was the entire watershed drainage basin of the Hudson Bay. I've downloaded shapefiles of North American watershed outlines from HydroSHEDS yet have found an issue. The source I am using distinguishes Greenland and North American Arctic basins from the rest of North America which in itself isn't a problem. However when I go to download my specific shapefile there is a problem, I go to downloads, expand the 'Basin Outline (Shapefile Format)' tab, then the 30sec resolution tab, which presents the various individual continental watershed drainage basins. The shapefiles for the Arctic, Greenland, and also siberia are not available for download but it is for the other continents. It appears the NA shapefile cuts out at roughly 60 degrees North and north of that is the Arctic basins but as said before since the HBC claimed territory above that latitude so I cannot accurately map out their claims.
Would anyone know where I can download those shapefiles, preferably at the same resolution? I've tried looking at other sources but either no other place has it available or I'm just not fluent in some of these computer lingos.
Front porch overhang and sump pump have been discharging right by front walkway constantly washing away all the mulch and more importantly causing some pooling a bit too close to the foundation. My plan is to install a small catch basin and trench laterally to connect into existing buried drainage pipe from a nearby gutter. (two parallel pipes are buried for this one 15 ft gutter). Initially the plan was to install schedule 40 in the trench I dig, but upon digging up the vertical column of the existing drain pipe it looks like it's triple wall pipe thats being used, so now im about confused about what issues I may run into moving forward.
- will triple wall and schedule 40 both fit the same pvc fittings?
- would I be better off just using triple wall for my run instead of schedule 40? (I have to cross a burried gas line that is marked out, so I may be limited to the depth I can reach if thats relevant. It is not a high traffic area, only walked on when mowing lawn or getting access to the hose spigot)
- Are the thick rubber connectors a better option for this application if it's being buried vs pvc?
- Do I use PVC cleaner/cement to secure the connections at the Tee and catch basin?
Thank you for your help, want to make sure I do this right.
In the sentence, if the sentence was No other river has a so vast drainage-basin, it would sound more natural for me.
Following the style of the sentence, can I make sentences like:
I had my drainage redone. They added a few catch basins. Today during a hard storm I noticed a catch basin had water pooling above it overflowing. Is that normal? It did go down below the grill once rain slowed down. Just not sure if I need to have something adjusted.
