I read the newspaper comic Doonesbury as a kid, and enjoyed it.

It actually didn't influence my political opinions, I actually enjoyed it so much that I would be constantly disagreeing with it in ways but that didn't stop me from reading it. I'm seeing a disturbing trend on Reddit of people shaming others who let their kids read actual political satire and accuse them of indoctrination. Holy moly... Can we just leave people alone. Let parents be parents. You communitarian shithead are not anymore better than your communitarian shithead parents that didn't like raising you and force others to accommodate you.

Me having this opinion doesn't mean I'm not concerned with propaganda disguised as something apolitical with no right or left leaning that just has common sense social liberalism, civil rights and occasional patriotism that is often apolitical as fuck, and shouldn't have a political leaning. (Quit trying to label Justice League, The Avengers, etc as "SJW". Because of their values often contradict shitty justice warriors... Social Justice is not what you think it is and it's more of a satirical term for batshit left wing communitarian extremist who want to control everything that is seen.)

I'm tired of seeing books banned because someone disagreed with something on the inside of them... How about instead of banning stuff, just be parents and don't allow your kids to read it. Heck everything so technologically advanced now that I think libraries can eventually have a system where you could actually go in and limit what's your kid reads casually based on contents and rating. Parents need to be parents and be more reasonable, the public should not accommodate you or your kids. Learn to live with most of society, just respect their rights and have some dignity. Perhaps the Christians out there, that frequently teach kids about the values of Christ... Maybe their kids will be the Christians that their parents weren't if they just learned how to respect people.
