A list of puns related to "Document Folder"
I got 30+ folders in my documents folder from different games. It would be way easier if they would just all be in "games" folder or if microsoft really wanted to they could even make it a seperate directory. Aside from Document, Downloads, Videos etc. they'd also have a Games/GameSaves folder. This would be easier for a lot of developers I assume as some games go in your document and others go into appdata.
We are decommisioning our file server. We migrated our shared drives to SharePoint/OneDrive, and are now getting to user destop/documents which has a GPO to redirect to our decommisioning file server.
What the best options to move/migrate this to our users personal OneDrive?
We have about 100 users all working remote with most using a VPN connection back to the office.
Hi,
It's really hard to search this online, because all I get are support articles telling me "how" the folder redirection works and how marvelous OneDrive syncing is, but not "why" they chose this method.
Why does Microsoft use profile redirection to move your files from "C:\Users\scohesc\Documents" to "C:\Users\scohesc\OneDrive - Company Name\Documents"?
It's honestly super frustrating when you're running legacy applications (or any existing applications that have been installed before OneDrive was) that assume your documents folder is where it has been for the past 10-15 years, but still want to back that folder up with OneDrive.
I'm not sure how to "bypass" or "workaround" this - I've tried using a hardlink in the Users' Documents folder to link to the corresponding folder in OneDrive, but doesn't seem to work with the legacy applications I'm trying to run.
Other cloud services don't do this AFAIK - I've had Dropbox at another client that offers to back up Desktop, Pictures, Documents folders, and they don't do any folder redirection to my knowledge, they just sync the contents of the folders...
Any thought on why users would be seeing dual desktop, documents. Downloads, etc folders for ad users that login to a windows 10 host? We have roaming profiles and folder redirection enabled.
One set of folders has a green icon next to it. The others appear to be a local one.
Most other users only get the green icon folders.
Any thoughts on why there would be dual folders for everything we are doing folder replication with? Thanks.
I'm trying to transfer as much as I can to my secondary SSD (should be as fast as my older boot volume) because my boot volume is too full. After learning how to tell Windows to relocate a Documents folder, I was looking through it to see if there would be any issues, and I saw that it wasn't only my Skyrim saves stored there, but there are some folders with files for Requiem and SKSE.
Well that's kind of important stuff. I really don't want to break my Requiem installation. I have hundreds of hours in and haven't changed or updated any mods in over a year (so this is not Special Edition) because I got it how I wanted it.
So the question is, does anyone know (whether from personal experience, tech expertise, or both) that it will still work if I tell Windows to relocate my Documents folder?
And as a bonus question, how about moving the Steam install (either the base Steam app, the Skyrim installation, or both)?
Whether it's happy stories of no problems or horror stories and dire warnings, it's all valuable.
Please explain the difference between documents and notes folders. How do you as creators expect these to be used?
Every day I wake up to 2 files in my ~/Documents folder: PWInbox.pushNotificationMessages
and PWInbox.serviceMessages
. I always delete them, but they always reappear the next day.
I've just tried 2 thing to better understand what the files are:
(1) I've looked into the details of these files, and I haven't been able to come up with anything. lsof | grep
does not return anything and mdls
returns nothing useful that I can identify:

(2) I also used Visual Studio Code to decode the file contents. Nothing special again, but it suggests the files may be Apple-owned? What do you think?

I have tried my best to google, and have tried the most common options. I got back a few files, but most of them are gone.
This is my personal laptop, and I do not want to pay about 100$ for a one time use thing.
Can someone please help me.
I am using windows.
In my computer I use two main disks one (HDD) is for games and files and another (SSD) is for programs and windows. I installed iRacing in my HDD drive because it has much more space but somehow iRacing folder in Documents takes more than 20Gb of space (actually it's paint folder inside it). Well it wouldn't be big of a problem but it keeps getting bigger each time I think it's because it downloads every single driver paint when I join a race and won't delete it after the game.
How can I fix this problem?
Hello all,
I have an interesting situation. I am experienced in research, and have spent many hours at the Family History Center (successfully locating many hundreds of documents). I have never not found a linked document, until now.
This particular New York City Marriage Record is not in the folder that the file states. It links to 1200 marriage documents, and I have searched through it three times. It's not there:
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:248F-MDB
I have also searched the Stephen Morse IGG site, and it leads to a different folder, that is also incorrect:
BaerHugo Jr Dec2619361945 (1936)ManhattanLion, Ruth A1674321 (7587270), 1674581 (7587331)Click Here
Has anyone had any experience not finding a document, and perhaps locating the correct folder? Any experts out there that can help me find this document?
Thank you all in advance!
I built out a flow where MS Form responses create a SharePoint List item, including attachments uploaded to the MS Form.
Now it would be preferred if the attachments from the Form (or SharePoint List item) would go to a folder in the document library.
Using this tutorial as a base: https://kumopartners.com/use-power-automate-to-grab-attachments-from-microsoft-forms-and-upload-to-sharepoint/
I was able to set up a partially functioning flow that creates the file in the document library, then creates and names a new subfolder in the document library, but I haven't succeeded on getting the file into the newly created subfolder.
Any help would be appreciated!
So I was using NucleusCoop to try and play the SM64 PC Port Online Multiplayer mod, I gave up on that at least for now, and noticed that it SOMEHOW for SOME REASON changed the default "Documents" folder location.
The normal "Documents" folder location is something like: (C:\This PC\Documents) or (C:\Users\username\Documents)
But now my PC is saying the default "Documents" folder is located in (C:\Users\username\NucleusCoop\Player2\Documents)
I noticed when I opened Dolphin Emulator everything was reset/deleted because it created a new "Dolphin Emulator" folder in the new "Documents" folder. Luckily I figured out how to change the registry or something for Dolphin and got my data back. But every new game/program I install uses the new NucleusCoop "Documents" folder now.
I don't want to do something like that for EVERY program that uses the "Documents" folder. How do I fix something like this?? How do I set the default "Documents" folder back to how it was originally?
Hey all! I was wondering if anyone ever had an issue where the screenshots/pictures taken in-game using "C" key weren't being saved and if they were able to fix it?
I've redownloaded the game and have been really playing it for the first time in years and never remember running into this issue before. I get an in-game notification that it's been saved to the launcher but I don't see any there either. :(
I have uninstalled OneDrive from my personal PC and removed my school from the Access Work or School menu in settings, it is still there whenever I go onto onedrive on the school laptop, anyone know a fix? Also on the school laptops everyone has their own login so only I can see the files. I can delete them but they keep re-appearing whenever I switch on my personal PC.
I'd like to pick the brain of the resident SP experts here please.
I have a SP site with default Document Library which works just fine. All members have access to this library and everyone can exchange files on this "public shared drive" without having to worry about any restrictions.
I now want to create a separate folder structure where I want to share department folders (eg. Sales, Finance, Human Resources, etc) and only give access to selected site members (= those who actually work on those departments).
My question is how to best go about this? Do I created a separate Document Library on the SP and then somehow handle access restrictions on a "per folder" basis? Is this even possible? Or do I have to create a separate Document Library for each department and then somehow handle the access?
Appreciate if you could share your recommendations and perhaps point me in the right direction of how to handle the access restrictions.
Thanks!
I started to install some of my apps on folders that aren't Program Files or Program Files (86x) so I can organize they better for me, I want to know if there are any losses when I do that.
I deleted this file but it keeps being automatically regenerated, what is the point of it? Can I edit settings to move it to a different location on my pc? Thanks for your help!
Hello, after attempting to "move to" my document and download folders to OneDrive, my folders got confused, and there are issues where my desktop known folder got put into my Documents known folder, and when I try to move some things in and out of these folders, or delete that desktop link from my Documents folder without deleting the Desktop, it gives me errors.
Can I pay someone with extensive OneDrive knowledge $30/hr via cashapp or paypal to spend (probably) less than one hour (but still $30 minimum) to get on Google meet with me to help guide me through the steps to get my known folders back in order? If you would like to do this, can you please message me your email or number if you can do this so that we can schedule a meeting? I figured that going this route would be more efficient than trying to get support from Microsoft.
Title says it all
When you use Microsoft Teams you can have a Channel have an email address. You can then email a file attachment to that Channel. I know it is going to SharePoint Online. I am frustrated because it adds a folder and EML file. I just want the attachment. I wonder if my only choice is to make a Shared Mailbox and then email to it and then have a Power Automate workflow check that email mailbox and then pull down to a Document Library.
Thoughts!? Thank you!
Please help

Asking because this just popped up in my feed.
Personally I would like to think I would do the decent thing and hand them in somewhere quietly with no fuss but I suppose there might be money to be made.
