Kaivalya moksha - the one where the identity of soul ceases and it becomes one with God and no individual activity can be recognised OR the other one where you reside with Krishna(or whichever God you think is the ultimate)and serve him eternally ?

So the rulebook says that those who can gain devotee benefits for worshipping a deity are clerics, OR character within certain rules.

Now, i couldn't find any rules that gives you such privilege, but i'm still new to the game and may have looked in the wrong places.

I was wondering if you kind people could give me your thoughts regarding my situation.

I've been reading a couple of books about the Santa Muerte, and I've come to really identify with her. I'm an LGBT person and I grew up surrounded by violence/bullying, so I've been trying to shape my spiritual practice to overcome the past and become the better person I want to be. I'm also a Mexican person living in the US and trying to get more in touch with my heritage.

The thing is, for the moment I live with my parents and they are Catholic. I know for sure that they would be hostile to any of this. For this reason I cannot really buy a statue of the Santisima as it would be too obvious.

Could I still do something to begin getting to know her?

What should one know and understand to be a devotee to kali? What texts/scriptures should i read to understand kali?

I've read a couple Hindu texts myself, such as the upanishads the bhagavad gita i find them both very enlightening and rich in wisdom. But goddess kali has always stood out and appealed to me, so i want to understand her tradition and unique perspective.

I think I align myself with advaita Vedanta and want to follow Shaktism. Would worshiping Maa Kali as my ishta dev mean I followed Smartism?

How would I start as a new devotee? Should I buy books by Swami Vivekananda? I heard he was a devotee of Maa Kali. Of course, please correct me if I’m wrong about that. Do I have to physically be in front of someone for them to be my guru? Can Swami Vivekananda be my guru if I read his books? (Genuinely asking because it’s physically difficult to get to a mandir) Or maybe not even Swami Vivekananda but others?

Presumably, you need to be holding it to activate it. But it doesn't say the feature stops if you drop it or lose consciousness.

Which brings up another question: can I leave the flail somewhere, call out the command word, and start the incense going? If not, can I start the incense and then leave it on the ground? If I do, and am not within 10 ft. of it, do I still regain hit points? It says explicitly "you and any other creatures in the incense", not "creatures in the incense; though the inclusion of other suggests that it always assumes the wielder is inside the cloud themselves.

Do you have to be turned on by disability, or do you have to not be turned off by disability? If we use the former definition, I’m not, if we use the latter definition, I am.
