A list of puns related to "Daphnis"
Have a good Sunday people!
Hi, all!
I've taken first-year Greek, along with doing some additional reading practice afterwards. I want to read Daphnis and Chloe; I skimmed a bit of it once and it seemed pretty doable. I have a few questions:
Is this feasible? Due to skimming only the intro, I'm not sure if there's some big trap lurking within, ready to prey on unsuspecting Hellenists/Ancient Greek enthusiasts.
If doable, which edition? Should I get a Loeb or a Cambridge Greek and Latin Texts version? Or some other edition?
In general, any tips for learning vocabulary? I did learn through a mostly reading-based approach, but such approaches still don't learn nearly enough vocab. Should I just read copious amounts, making sentence cards and decriptions/illustrations as needed?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
So my fully ignited Daphnis keeps dying and I have a n. mona+6 and neptune+6 in my team. She always dies on the first fever. Do I have to sacrifice all my atk equipment for hp/defense equip? Seems like the guide said you'd be fine with n.mona, but this reflect seems too powerful this go around. Any thoughts?
What is the difference between the ballet and the orchestral suites ? Which parts are omitted / modified compared with the ballet and why the latter has been divided in two orchestral suites ?
Thank you !
Hi everyone! For my first ever project, I'm hosting a piece from the ballet Daphnis et ChloΓ© by Maurice Ravel: Danse GΓ©nΓ©rale! This is the scene that concludes both the ballet and the second suite. It's a raucous, capricious piece that has some wonderful orchestration that includes the full orchestra. This is a fun one, and I think you guys will really go wild with this!
Note: Accidentals DON'T carry over between dotted barlines in 5/4 bars.
IMPORTANT: Danse GΓ©nΓ©rale starts at rehearsal mark 193. The parts reflect this but it's worth mentioning.
DIFFICULTY WARNING: This piece is very difficult, especially for the woodwinds. Please take some time to look over your part and practice it thoroughly before submitting your final recording.
Additionally, the recording for the click track that I chose is from the ballet, not the suite, so there will be choir in the click track. There is no choir in the suite, and there are no choir parts in the drive.
Below is the sheet music for this piece. Make sure you grab the right part!
The final date to submit your recordings is July 10th!*
Send your final recordings here!

Hello,
I am a new enthusiast. I come from the classical music scene, so I have become familiar with the music for some ballet works. I want to see Daphnis et Chloe live, because Ravel is my favorite composer.
But I don't know how to search for concerts other than a simple google search. I am willing to travel hundreds of miles to see it... but I just don't know how to find it. Is there any directory of upcoming performances, or a better way to search than just typing "Daphnis et Chloe Ballet upcoming performances"?
Thank you for reading this and please let me know if you have any ideas.
Just asking out of curiosity really, I'm not performing it or anything. When there's solos that are slow enough and very exposed I have a tendency to use alternate fingerings, especially in the top octave. My favourite fingering for top F is thumb + 3rd octave key, 1 2 + G# key, and I guess this would work well for the beginning of the solo, however I don't know what fingering I would use for the G and can't even try it out because my oboe is in another country.
So what do yous all do here? It's really...creative writing, look it up if you're not familiar with it - it's like the flute plays a little solo, the French horn goes "I can play high too you know!" and then the oboe is just like "f you all I'm gonna go highest"
I am torn. I like Ayane better, but getting her max uncapped is going to be a very long road.
Hey everyone,
Last year I went full binge mode on the Dan Snaith catalogue and really hit "JiaoLong" a lot. That mix of sampling, synths and house was everything I wanted and partially inspired the sound of this track. Does anybody have a favorite on that record? "Jiao" was the track that I kept coming back to.
