Hi all.

I've gotten through the text of the BAA and there is a lot to go through this time. This was not a small change, this was not just one or two items being updated. This was the big, wholesale update to the BAA that I've been looking for, and spoiler alert, 9.3 is not the only interesting change.

I'm going to ignore 9.3 for now, because we've already talked about it and Golgo with through it point by point in the earlier thread. Read this if you have not, it's good stuff.

This is going to be a long one. Throughout this post, any bold is my addition.

Hey, this is more of something that happened in the past and has resolved -- I'm just trying to satisfy my curiosity and come up with an explanation. Here's a rough timeline of what happened with the sore/rash:

A roughly round dime-sized area of my arm started developing a cluster of blister-like bumps. They were soft, clear liquid filled, and with no (or very light) pain/discomfort even when touched.

In the next couple days, they slowly broke open and the whole area scabbed over with a dark black scab. Around the edge of the rash was swollen and white, and overall it didn't hurt that much, other than the rawness before it scabbed up.

Over (quite a bit of) time, the scab disintegrated/fell off and I'm left with a scar on my arm, seen here (ignore the pen line on my arm, my camera wasn't wanting to focus and I needed something with contrast).

The only thing I can come up with that fits this progression is cutaneous anthrax, which seems extremely unlikely to me (though maybe not impossible -- I worked at a gas station where farmers/ranchers made up a huge portion of the customer base, which could be a vector). Is there anything else that follows this same set of symptoms? A cluster of pus-filled bumps that burst open and scab over black with white swollen skin around the edges?

(Obviously I should have seen a doctor about it at the time, but money was too tight to afford insurance, let alone seeing a doctor).

Hi all, just wanted to share a point of significant and weird interest for me in medical history. I have a background in medicine and public health, so epidemics and emerging viruses are some of the great mysteries that I enjoy researching. I hope you enjoy!

It began with a sense of apprehension. The patient would find themselves shaking from an invisible sense of cold, complaining of a headache, and maybe even experience severe pains in their upper limbs and neck. This stage of cycling giddiness, shiving, and pain would slowly progress until the third hour mark, after which the "hot and sweating" stage sets in. From no apparent cause, the patient would rapidly break out into a sweat, and begin complaining of an incredible sense of heat, delirium, rapid pulse, and intense thirst.

If the patient survives from this 3 hour mark to roughly 18 hours after the first onset of symptoms, they then enter the final stages of the illness, or an "exhaustion" phase. During this last phase, there was either general exhaustion and collapse, or an irresistible urge to sleep. Occasionally during these phases, a vesicular (cystic) rash may occur.

Surviving for more than twenty-four hours generally indicated recovery and the perspiration was replaced by high amounts of urination. Remarkably, it seemed to only affect Englishmen, as there were no records of any foreigners being affected on English soil.

This "Sweating Sickness," coined after the symptoms of sweating seen by patients with the illness, was not a disease that conferred resistance to future infection after being exposed. Several people were recorded to experience the Sweating Sickness on multiple occasions before dying, and that testament is confirmed by it's five recurrent outbreaks in 1485, 1508, 1517, 1528, and 1551. In fact, it was not uncommon for patients to have several attacks, and it occurred most often during the summer months.

This disease, oddly, was nearly entirely confined to England, except in 1528-29, where it spread to the European continent in Hamburg, Scandinavia, and eastward to Lithuania, Poland, and Russia. Interestingly, the disease did not spread to France or Italy.

With regard to incubation time (the amount of time needed for the ingested viral particles to reproduce enough in order to elicit symptoms), the most reliable source surrounds the movement of the military and reports of the sickness afterwards. I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

We learned back on May 3 that General Mosi was charged with disclosing state secrets.

NSS reports: Mosi, being the former head of the military control service in MOD, and having access to secret information due to his years of service, disclosed secret information in November.

In particular, it's over long-term weapon and equipment forecast directions, disclosing development plans, disclosing armed forces and civil defense plans, operational programs, combat management, top-secret info about different levels of combat readiness.

He is charged under Article 306.1. The case is sent to prosecutors so they can file court documents.

In 2019, former president Serj and the owner of Flash fuel company Barsegh Beglaryan were charged with embezzling agricultural aid in 2013. Two other suspects, one of whom was a key associate who testified against Serj, have since passed away.

The trial resumed today and entered the final stage. Serj has pleaded not guilty.
