A list of puns related to "Coup De Grâce"
Coup De Grâce isn’t a horrible perk. It definitely has its uses and can really catch Survivors off guard if they get greedy, but I feel the idea of never being able to lunge without using Coup de Grâce feels a bit too bad.
My proposed change to the perk is:
You only lose a stack if you go passed the normal lunge range. This way, you can still make small lunges, since you would have technically not used the perk.
You are limited to 5 stacks maximum per match, and those stacks are only gained upon generator completion. I don’t think the perk would become overbearing with this change.
You can use Coup de Grâce to kill a regenerating creature. Tested vs Crag Linnorm and the regenerating Treant in "Other World" using Valerie with +3 weapon. Both would not die until using CdG.
Only played a couple of games and have a question about my most recent.
Can you preform a Coup de Grâce on a model which has remote presence and is in unconscious state one? Or does the model have to be in state two? How does this interaction play out?
I heard Coup De Grâce no longer gives powerfuls, but that that was a glitch/bugged? Do we know if that was fixed or is it still dropping at the soft cap?
Its overall a pretty niche perk, sometimes useful but mostly bad. I would love to see it allow you to break walls & pallets by lunging, it would be the first way to get rid of objects by m1 only. Mostly because it would be cool as fuck to play nemesis destroy shit with your fist.
On a more serious note, on top of this i think starting with a stack when you begin the match would let it become a good way of applying pressure early
I have been toying with the idea of allowing my players to coup de grâce enemies. In the event that they manage to sleep up to a sneaking enemy with high enough rolls that there is just no way they're waking up I think the player deserves it. More over, it feels strange to say the target wakes up all of the sudden or to say "Yes you snuck up expertly to your target and then STABBED THEM WITH A CRITICAL STRIKE doing... minimum damage... okay so I guess you stabbed the sleeping target in a non-lethal part of the body for some reason."
Similarly, if the party has an enemy paralyzed with no other threats or forces that would give them reason to be less picky about where they strike the target, then I think a similar idea applies. Especially if the target is unlikely to succeed the save anytime soon.
I think that I'd explicitly state that in most circumstances, targets of powerful ability likely won't be susceptible to this all the time so don't rely on it. I am curious if anyone has used something like this in their games and could give me any insight.

When attempting to kill a defenseless person, the rule book states "If it’s a human being and you want to kill your target outright, you must fail an Empathy roll (roll for the attribute only, without Stress Dice). "
While this may work for a "good" empathetic character. The problem I've run into is with an "evil" character like a corporate agent who has a sinister agenda. They are typically unsuccessful because of a high Empathy stat. For example, in 2 different games of Chariot of the Gods, the PC playing Wilson has tried to kill someone in cold blood. Once out of mercy for a critically injured NPC, and in another group because Rye was broken and Wilson wanted them out of the way.
In both cases Wilson failed to kill them (succeeded on their Empathy roll)
I think from now on, if the character is "evil" in nature, I'm going to have them roll for Manipulation and kill on a success rather than a failure. I think this better represents the characters resolve for achieving their "evil agenda" and contributes more positively to role-play.
What are your thoughts on how to better address this?

Use your primary ammo until he disappears then the orb shows up, use your melee to pop the orb so you are able to go into the ascendant realm do the same to the remaining orbs. Also it’s a great way to farm 0+ legendaries.
A coup de grâce, or stroke of grace, is a death blow intended to end suffering. Basically, putting something out of its misery.
And then there's the second definition:
>An action or event that serves as the culmination of a bad or deteriorating situation
Her murder is quite literally a coup de Grace, and that's just too perfect to be coincidental.
It's all connected indeed.
Most can't destroy the residual energy, some can't even make it past the first room where you first engage the high celebrant. The mission is currently unfinishable.
EDIT: mission can be finished, may required multiple restarts, dont damage the celebrant too much when you first encounter it, must get lucky with getting teleported
Hi everyone! i've been replaying the Coup de Grâce mission just to get some decent rolls on the SotH weapons, when an interesting piece of dialouge came up.
after you exit the Ascendant Plane for the 2nd time, in the room with the Barrier Knight, Osiris has this to say:
"Xivu Arath strikes where Savathûn first pushed through the veil and entered the Dreaming City. Has she no ambition of her own?"
that last part really confused me. why would Osiris comment on this? he said it in a slightly frustrated manner, which makes this slightly more confusing.
also, were we (as the Guardian, not the Player) aware that Savathûn even physically entered the Dreaming City? I guess Osiris may have learned this with his little interface with the Hive aboard the Dreadnaught.

If you were defending yourself and shot someone, severely wounded them, they ask for you to "kill them ". would you be on the line for murder?
Edit: say there's a body cam with audio and everything up until this point is indubitably self defense.
The absolute best part of Season of the Hunt was being able to cycle Wrathborn Hunts to play the Coup de Grâce hunt and get a Pinnacle you actually need. You knew what piece of gear your Pinnacle was going to be and it was so freaking pleasant.
This season I'm playing for pinnacle after pinnacle looking for that one specific piece of gear, playing things I don't want to play, only to get another energy weapon or whatever other piece I don't need. It's not fun. Especially when it just keeps on happening.
Even if the Coup de Grâce wasn't offering what I needed at that exact moment, I could keep playing the activity until it cycled to the one thing I did need. Could we please please bring that back or something similar? Just one chance a week to, without a doubt, actually get the piece of gear I want. Please?
